Here is an absolutely gorgeous quartersawn oak carved wardrobe with finials. Much like the style of Eastlake, purchased through the estate auction of an old Charleston family member, so I'm not sure if it is American made or perhaps English. It is certainly late 19th century to early 20th century solid oak(primary and secondary) with lovely carvings and dentition across the top, a large clear beveled dressing mirror, dovetailed drawers, original old hardware and an incredible amount of storage space within a solid wood cabinet that's made to travel in separate smaller components(base, closet, bonnet) so it could be easily maneuvered through the traditionally smaller hallways and stairwells of those now antique homes. This wonderful large functional wardrobe stands 87 inches tall by 53 inches wide by 21 inches front to back. Offering ... morean amazing amount of storage in a gorgeous quartersawn oak cabinet. This terrific Victorian wardrobe has 3 large sliding shelves and 3 nice deep drawers on one side with open closet space on the opposing side, still equipped with cloak hooks affixed to the walls as well as a hanging rod across it's width, added later. If the new owner desired, the open cabinet space for hanging clothes can of course be easily converted into any type storage you may need with the variety of storage system unit options available in most retail stores. oak wood table top vintage jewelry music box armoire dresser bureau spindle
This is a vintage piece but I am unsure of the time frame. I purchased it at an antique shop years ago. I believe the wood is pine but the finish is oak. The insides of the drawers and compartments are all in IMPECCABLE condition. This armoire also has a mirror inside the biggest compartment. The window on the big compartment has a beautifully etched floral design. It reminds me of frosted glass. Also inside the big compartment is a spindle for all of your necklaces. The spindle functions and looks perfect. The only flaws that I see on this armoire are a few marks on the back(see last picture) and a few marks on the top. So its not in absolute perfect condition but it is pretty darn close. All of these pictures are of the actual item for sale. So other than a few marks. This armoire is in unused condition and you can expect all of the drawers, ... moreplus the inside to be perfect. This is also a music box. I will update the ad shortly with the song that music box plays. I am thinking the music box needs a new battery? because the song plays on and off. For instance. You will wind it up, it won't play the song and then you will go do something else and all of sudden you will hear the song play. So know this in advance. It plays the song when it is in the mood. Large antique English Oak Triple Door Armoire with original bevelled mirror
This piece is in Dallas TX and you must come get it. This piece has gorgeous and modern detailing on the sides. Nice acorn legs, brass detailing on the locks and the bevelled mirror, original to the piece, is in great shape. This breaks down all the way into very easy to move pieces. It used to be one of my trick questions I would ask people"what do you think was the very hardest thing to move? And they would guess this piece and be wrong. Antique wardrobe/armoire. I have owned this since the 1970's purchased from an antique dealer. Was told it is turn of the century. Knockdown type. Pictures really show the condition. Please be sure to use the"mouse over" function to evaluate the condition. It is solid, but you can see the bracing that was applied to the back and the hanging rod that was also added. Antique Oak Armoire w/Single Door/Drawer & Beveled Mirror Knock Down
We are pleased to offer this beautiful and functional antique armoire. This piece dates to the early 1900's and is in great condition for the age. The wardrobe body measures 34.25" wide x 16.25" deep. The crown molding at the top measures 39.75" wide x 20.25" deep. This has a single door fronted by a beveled mirror. The mirror is in good condition and there is a small area that the molding that holds it in place was replaced. This can be seen in the last photo. The inside has mounted hooks around the top. There is no rod and there are no shelves inside this unit. There is a nice deep single drawer at the base that has dove tail joints. There is a keyhole on the door and drawer but we do not have a key for this. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings on this. This large antique English Country oak armoire. Manufactured during the early 1900's and recently imported from the UK, offers lovely organized storage for even the largest wardrobe. This large early 20th century wardrobe offers two hanging closets, each with a hanging bar and one has a 10 inch deep campaign drawer in the bottom for storing shoes or boots and a full size beveled dressing mirror on the central closet door; three large blind pull out tray shelves, behind that door along with a dresser with three large drawers. The inside of all the closets and shelving is lined in a yellow fabric which is overall clean and in good condition for it's age, adding a finished touch. The design of the piece includes an interesting construction technique that highlights the quartersawn oak wood and decorative metal hardware. This is a high ... morequality piece with dovetailed drawers and brass drawer pulls and I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the construction, design, condition and beauty of the piece, though pictures just don't do it justice. This large wardrobe stands 86 inches long by 80 inches tall and 26 1/2 inches deep. Front to back. The two side closets are each 25 inches wide by 20 inches front to back by 73 inches tall. In the left side facing closet there is 68 inches clearance below the hanging bar. In the right side facing closet there is a 10 inch deep campaign drawer, leaving 58 inches clearance to the floor below the hanging bar. This large piece could of course be easily fitted with one of the many more modern storage systems available to maximize it's internal space. The 3 large drawers in the lower bottom section of the center closet are each 24 inches wide by 18 inches front to back and gradually increase in depth. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) Up for auction: A gorgeous. Old, oak armoire, closet or wardrobe. It has a beveled-mirrored door and one drawer, offering tons of elegantly hidden storage. I believe it's English, based on its instructional tag: This Wardrobe when dismantled will pass the narrowest stairway or passage. Instructions: Unscrew cornice and plinth from inside of carcase. Hold the door. I can't be certain, but believe it likely dates to the early 1900s. I had too many photos to include one of the patent number(small tag nailed inside the drawer) which reads: PROVL.PAT.NO. 86004-20. The inside compartment has three hooks across the center back top. And one hook on each side. The drawer ... moreis dovetailed. The mirror has a simple bevel. My photos aren't the best- sorry- bad lighting. I think. It's a medium-dark oak. Beautiful! Condition: Overall. For it's age, I think it's in nice vintage condition with age-appropriate imperfections. I think it displays beautifully(and is superbly useful) By way of flaws: 1) the left side. Center, shows a split(where two oak panels meet) it bows out slightly. I don't think it's really distractive, but could probably be remedied by the handy; 2) there's a 2" x 1/2" chip on one side, near the back, relatively near the bottom- hard to see; 3) can't really see it, but the bottom skirt is angled a bit, with a small split on one side; 4) the mirror I think is totally functional and charming as is, but has spots of loss of silvering and minor imperfections; 5) in the drawer, you'll see there are wood support blocks(these came with this- I assume for the underside- that look supplementary supports) that probably could be glued into position for additional support(I haven't investigated; the closet seems fine as is) 6) the door handle has pulled a bit with a small break in the metal- still
