FANTASTIC IMPOSING 19th CENTURY ANTIQUE FRENCH SOLID CHESTNUT ARMOIRE WARDROBE French Chestnut Armoire Dating to the first half of the 19th century and being made of solid chestnut. This stunning armoire is in excellent sturdy condition.The armoire will come completely flat so will go upstairs with ease. The cheeks of the armoire follow down to form the stylized swept feet and to the inside there are 3 shelves with the central one having a drawer below it. This is enclosed with a super pair of molded panel doors. The left hand door with it's faux-dormant panel is held shut with a simple hook and eye with the right hand door closing on to it and being held shut with it's original working lock and key. The blacksmith made brass hinges and key escutcheons are original to the Armoire. This is all finished off with a traditional ogee cornice. ... moreSplit applied turnings and pressed brass bosses. This Armoire is peg jointed front and back so if needed. Would come apart for taking upstairs. Antique Armoire Wardrobe with ornate details. REDUCED
Antique wardrobe measures 80" tall x 19.5" depth x 5" wide. Ornate carvings and beautiful tiger oak(not positive) wood. It is beautiful. Center door opens to reveal the interior 6 brass hooks and 2 rods. Bottom has two pull out drawers with brass pulls and key lock plate.Disassembles into several sections for more manageable moving. There is a small section(approx. 2" of wood inside that has fallen off and the ball legs have minor scuffs. As long as I can remember, the center door is missing the turn handle but still functions and opens. There are key holes on the door and drawers with lovely brass hardware but I'm not sure if it will lock.The wood is exquisite. It is quite the show stopper. this is a really cool piece. its very old. it was hand painted and distressed. this was done very well. The white paint usually gets on you when this is done but this was sealed in and really done well. you can rub all over the chifferobe and the white will not get on you at all. its in good shape.

It's an antique Italian Walnut Bombe Wardrobe Armoire. Dating from around 1920. Serpentine shaped body with a bombe base and with scalloped cornice tip and cross banded frieze above a large central mirrored door with a serpentine front and with a single inlaid door to either side all with ornate gilt handles. Breaks down to three sections for ease of transporting. Tom Horvath in Totowa. NJ had completely refurbished and refinished the armoire about 10 years ago. Incredible French Carved Single Door. Mirrored, Armoire/Wardrobe. Incredible detail all over. This one is from the mid 1800's, I do not believe it has been refinished ever, looks all original to me. You will see a few age marks here and there, and a few flecks of veneer off along the bottom of the door. In the last picture you will see the door is open to the piece and the left hand side is seperated, this is because a tightening bolt is missing. These pieces break down in several pieces and have to be attached, the bolt that attaches the left side to the crown, or topper, is missing, I will get a new one and have it in there before it is delivered to a customer. This wardrobe was purchased from an antique shop that imported from Europe regularly and I believe is around the 1940s era. Not positive and not wanting to mislead, just not sure. It is definetly not a reproduction, that I am sure. The three doors are all intact and the center main door has a heavy beveled mirror that is in pretty good condition. The doors sit on a pin style hinge and the parts all work fair. This wardrobe comes completely apart down to the base unit that holds the drawers. the back is like a puzzle to put together but not to complicated. The top and bottom are bolted together with a spiral type bolt and only three are with the unit but it I used a clamp on the top and it worked fine holding it together, which I will include. It takes a skeleton key on the doors which is pretty common to find but I dont have one. It is a ... morenice piece of old furniture but just dont need it. I am selling my beautiful cedar armoire. Excellent condition. Just see the photos. Wonderful etching above the doors. Beautiful grain. Art Deco. Has casters on the bottom, so as to roll around easily. Has some mild signs of wear. But I find it shocking that after all this time, this armoire is in such incredible condition. A little dusty in photos. Please pardon the shadows from the trees and the reflective glare from the sidewalk and steps. I have been told that this was made in the 30's and is a waterfall design. An antique Arts& Crafts style solid oak Hall Wardrobe of American origin. We are pleased to present this antique Hall Wardrobe for your consideration. It is made of solid Oak wood. And is of American origin with an Arts& Crafts or Mission style look. Unusual for an American piece, it has a mechanism for disassembly to simplify the task of moving it from one place to another. A single door is found on the front, and hooks(not original to the piece) are found on the back, near the top, for hanging garments. Limited depth on the inside is not sufficient for a hanger to fit front-to-back. So this piece is better suited for use as a Hall Wardrobe, rather than a full armoire. Other possibilities, with the addition of shelves, would be use as a Bookcase, Spice Cabinet, or Kitchen Pantry. The outside measurements are 69 inches high. 33-1/2 ... moreinches wide, and 15-1/2 inches deep. There are four(4) pieces of sliding wood locks on the inside. When slid towards the front and removed, they allow the top and bottom to be removed for transport(see three close up pictures to get an idea of how the mechanism works) On the inside. Measurements are 63 inches high, 28-1/2 inches wide, and 12-3/4 inches deep of usable space. Five(5) sturdy hooks are available at the top for hanging jackets, hats, or similar items. The Hall Wardrobe is in great shape. The finish on the outside looks fresh with minimal wear. There are a few water stains on the interior. But the wood is solid. The hinges on the front door have a heavy patina from age, but are quiet and in good mechanical condition. We rate the overall condition as very good. Stunning Antique French mirror wardrobe/armoire from the Belle Epoque Era
This has been in our spare room for several years and we absolutely love it- it is truly beautiful. Sadly we need to part with it to make way for a new member of the household. The top piece comes off above the mirrored door. And both drawers and shelves come off/out to make moving/transport easier. It is very sturdy, not a light piece. The paintwork is distressed and it was bought like this 11 years ago, and only the knobs and handles have been changed as they were in poor shape or not existent and 1 shelf added. It measures 252 cm high at middle point 124 cm wide. 46 cm deep plus the top piece sticks out another 25 cm as you can see from photo 2, but is removable. It has a traditional beveled cornice with very attractive inlaid banding and it features two closets that are elegantly lined with a dark green fabric and they have a total of two metal hanging rods and six metal hooks. Their doors operate smoothly and they have a beautiful beveled oval mirror. Two paneled surfaces decorated with inlaid banding and a diamond shape design on the center, and they have ornate brass handles. The mirror may show some aged hazing but it only validates its antiquity. On the bottom there is a large drawer that is well constructed with dovetail joinery and it is also decorated with inlaid banding and it has two attractive brass handles with oval hardware. This armoire may show some age appropriate wear, minor wood flaws and one of its sides it is stripped but it can be easily refinished if necessary, otherwise this piece is overall in good cosmetic and structural condition and it is strong and sturdy. Antique Armoire with a very clear Beveled Original Mirror. Hand carved decorations on the front. As pictured. It has a tall cabinet for hanging clothes and a smaller cabinet with 2 shelves and 3 generous drawers. It sits on an additional large. Deep drawer. In addition, it is crowned with a decorative scroll-work topper. The final assembled height is 7 feet. It is a little over 4 feet wide and approximately 18 inches deep. It comes in 4 parts- a stand. The wide bottom drawer, the main armoire with 2 cabinets and 3 drawers, and the top piece. The main cabinet has a large beveled mirror in the door. The mirror is 13 1/2 inches wide and 4 feet tall. The main piece is made of heavy Mahogany-like wood with mainly original fittings. You can see that the drawer pull for the bottom(of the 3) drawer was replaced. I refinished the piece about 30 years ago. Since it is pine. I decided to try to stay in the same color family that would have been common when the piece was built. I used as an entertainment center and. Years ago, I modified the piece to allow for the back of a pre-flat screen TV to stick out the back of the piece. I know, I should have waited for flat screens to come out. Anyway, I built a shelving unit which can be removed~it simply sits inside the wardrobe. At the top of the inside of the unit, I attached some pine shelving via some angled metal brackets, which can also be easily removed. The boards that would have originally been on the top were missing when I found ... morethe piece. I used some old reclaimed wood to replace them. This is a great piece- look at the detail in some of the pictures. The builder used wooden pegs and square nails to attach the wooden pieces. The trees that were used to build this piece must have been large in diameter, the door panels are 14" wide, and the back of the piece has boards that are 11-14" in width. Early American Country Furniture Antique Colonial Armoire Wardrobe Federal @1795
This Spectacular Early American Solid Plank Pine Armoire/Wardrobe is Circa 1795-1825 Of course this piece was all hand made. No doubt by an early American craftsman. It features thick solid pine plank construction.The armoire has tons of character marks and great patina, I restored the finish with a hand rubbed varnish to protect the wood and bring out the gorgeous graining and character marks. The early hand wrought iron nails are exposed.At the door frame front corner faces you can see the two hand made pegs at each corner. They secure the hand made mortise and tenon joinery of the door frames. The entire top has one solid plank of pine which is dovetailed with one large dovetail joint into the sides of the armoire.The blackened graining of the pine is natural and makes for beautiful highlights. The cornice detail which trims the cabinet ... moretop is superb. Another rare and excellent feature is the original hand made clothes hooks which swivel left& right. They are hand-pegged into their support piece. The whitewashed cabinet inside appears to be original. There are also a few tiny remnants of a linen/muslim cloth held by wrought nails inside the cabinet.It appears the cabinet was once lined with linen cloth. The iron lock is original. I had a period style key made,the key is solid brass which I painted to match the hardware.The lock and key work excellently. The hardware is reproduction period style iron hardware.This piece has many nicks. Dings and character marks in the wood, There is an exposed nail on the lower left front corner where a chip of wood has been missing for a long time, I like the fact you can see this nail, it adds tremendous character& history to this piece, I made no attempt to restore this area, I think it is unique! The doors have age related shrinkage gaps where the recessed panels meet the frame, this is to be expected with a such an old piece.The doors close well, I added magnetic catches to secure them. The left side door has an antique slide locks(top& bottom) which allows it

Very Large Antique French Empire / Canadian American Wardrobe / Armoire L@@K!
A very large French Empire wardrobe or armoire circa 1850-1870. Past down by decent in the same French Canadian family and then through marriage to Norwegian American relatives in the 1920's. Made from beautifully grained mahogany veneer over pine secondary wood and always kept indoors. There is absolutely no fading of the rich wood colors. It is approximately 87 inches high. 24 inches deep, and 61 inches wide, and is in excellent overall condition. Only minor veneer chips as expected from age and use. I will give it a dusting and a coat of paste wax and it will be ready to enjoy for another 100 years. It is easily disassembled for transport thanks to the original wood keys which attach the sides to the base and the tapered wedges which lock the top to the sides. This is an early 1900's antique"chifforobe" wardrobe) with 5 drawers and a small mirrored door on one side. And a full size wardrobe door on the other side.
