This is an auction for a neat Gothic ceiling light or chandelier. This has five arms separated by five cast iron shields. At the end of the arms are light sockets. This is made out of iron and the wiring appears to be from the 1930's, IT NEEDS TO BE REWIRED. This is a very rare fixture. The lamp measures 21 X 22 inches not counting the chain. This came from a local estate, and has been storage for years. There is a little rust on the arms, which help verify the age. This is an no reserve auction after the opening bid. Antique French Gothic Wrought Iron Hanging Light Fixture Chandelier
This vintage/antique lamp is from an estate. It stands 17" tall and is 12" in diameter. There are six sides(4 1/2" wide) and six sharp metal points at the top and bottom. There are metal pieces on each side that would have held glass panels at one time. The fixture hangs from a 15" metal link chain and there is a metal floral looking base that secures to the ceiling. The lamp has one socket in the center which is surrounded by a 8 sided metal"cup" The lamp will need to be rewired and new glass panels replaced if desired. Very nice set of 4 very large wrought iron chandeliers with floral and leafy tole detail. They were original in a hotel in Sharon Springs NY. Which used to be a popular country destination in the summer time for people who lived in the city in the early 1900s, The area was also well known for its sulfur springs bath houses. This set is near complete, a couple of the bottom tassels are missing as well as the small detail piece above one of the tassels. One of them looks to have been dropped at some point because the bottom is bent upwards about 6" SOme of the socket arms are bent inwards and outwards. It is hand formed and hammered from a very talented blacksmith with an abundance of intricate detailing. it's wrought from thick iron and has some nice weight to it. It has a thick white paint job which still has a nice antique look to it. it has nice very sharp pointed finials on each corner. Please scroll down under this description for additional views. Circa 1915-1920 five light Arts& Crafts chandelier. It is a bit of a restoration project but it has good bones and after it is rewired and that hideous white paint is removed. You will have a period fixture to be proud of. Including the ceiling cap and chain there is a total drop of 27" and the bottom of the fixture is about 20" diameter. The arms are wrought iron- I scraped away enough paint to see underneath. The little bell-shaped caps that hold the sockets are white metal- maybe a heavy tin but not iron. The ceiling cap is stamped, embossed brass under that paint. There is a single drilled hole on the end of each of the upper scrolls of the arms- perhaps a later addition for a single prism or a swag chain of prisms- you can ignore these little holes or add some ... moreembellishment. I really like the socket covers with their slightly ruffly edge and the raised rounds that resemble big nail heads. This is a very large antique handmade wrought iron Gothic electric chandelier fixture. it can also be used as a lamp post light as it has a circular mount on the bottom. it's extremely ornate and completely made by hand with an abundance of intricate detailing. it has a beautiful gothic look and patina from age. it is all wired and has a single generic sized light locket inside which has a pull chain as well. there are six sides with rectangular openings. it does have little tabs inside so glass panels can be cut and installed if desired but works great without. it has a very long hanging chain attached to the top. it is a very large piece. The fixture alone measures 31 1/2 inches tall by 14 inches wide in nice antique condition. Beautiful iron beaded lamp. If you look at photos closely you will see on if the straight beaded cord is missing half. I would remove that strand and you would never notice that it was suppose to be there. Strand could be saved if you ever needed more glass beads. I do not know the exact period that this was made. However it is custom made. Beads are all glass. Amber and golden shades.no plastic. Bottom crystal is a deep ruby red. Height is 43 inches and width is 31 inches. Excellent condition. Ready to hang.
