Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! I couldn't pass up this sweet old cabinet door- it has so many possibilities! I know you may use it for your cabinet. But woudn't it make into a great frame, or a pretty decopauge in the center- the possibilities are limited to your imagination! ... moreThe body is made from 5 pieces of solid oak, dovetailed together. You can see the original key hole with a raised rim on one side. It measures 14" wide by 13 3/4" tall and is 3/4" thick on the ends. It's in very good condition structurally. I didn't say excellent because when I was carrying it, one of the sides fell out of the dovetailed joint. I put it back in(didn't to the best job, though, it needs to be adjusted so it's flush on the edges- see photo 16. Don't get me wrong, it holds well together as it is, with no wiggle or jiggle, it's just the weight of the rest of the door when I was carrying it that made that side fall off. You could leave it as it is, or pull it back off and add some glue to totally shore it up. It weighs 2 3/4 lbs, by the way. The finish is shabby rustic, with lots of scratches, and light scrapes. The longest being a scrape/scratch from the end that goes down to the keyhole. Now, the white marks that can be seen on one end I at first thought were water marks. I discovered now that they will rub off, so it's some type of cleanable soil. The piece is dirty, and I have not cleaned it in any way, it could use a

This is a vintage double door wooden wall hung cabinet/chest. It measures aprox. 26"x16 3/8" With a depth of 4 1/2" when the doors are closed. It has 2 small porcelain knobs; all hinges are present, but some are in need of new hinge rods, so you may want to replace, or just get new rods(see photos) There are no mirrors(they were broken when I got it) so the front is open. Antique Wood Medicine Chest Cabinet Wall Mount Old Paint Mirror Door Boston MA

Please check out the pictures– they show how wonderful this old cabinet is. This antique primitive wall mount medicine chest cabinet with mirror door has all of its original paint(at least two coats) and the original mirror. The wood was first stained. Then painted old green, and then the tan or beige it is now– there are some splatters of white around the edges, too. The mounting bracket at the top is brass and is 2 7/8” across the bottom and is 1 3/4” tall. The back panel for this cabinet is a fantastic piece of wood that was most likely used as a shipping carton at one time– ... moreit is marked with the words: hospital. 751 Albany St, Boston, Mass. and the numbers 436 in a circle. This wood cabinet stands 26 1/4” tall from top to bottom. The top piece is 19 7/8” from side to side and 5 5/8” from front to back. And then narrows done to 19” across the front. The middle of the cabinet measures 18 1/4” from side to side and is 4 7/8” from front to back. The base or molding around the bottom is 19 1/4” across the front and is 5 1/4” from front to back. The door is 16 3/4” wide. 23 1/4” tall and is 7/8” thick. The mirror measures 18 3/4” x 12” and is mounted securely into the door. The two-piece latch is fully functional and is 2” long(with both pieces) The mirror is free from any scratches or gouges but there is a very small amount of poisoning in the lower right hand corner. There are also some bits of paint on the surface that will easily clean off. The cardboard backing on the mirror has some old water damage– probably from bathroom steam. There are 3 shelves, including the base of the cabinet. They are all in very good condition, but do show signs of use. The figurine shows an African man in traditional clothes and head gear holding something. Statue is nailed to the base which in turn is nailed the the carved back board, The statue wobbles and the head hits the back board leaving a mark. It could be a primitive door knocker. It features Jovo Door Jambs. Which are distinctive to the houses of this region. It's made of a hefty island hardwood which is proportionately quite heavy for its size! About Jovo Door Jambs/Door Posts( Museum of New Zealand Website) This large carved jovo(door post) was part of the doorway of a great round house made by the Kanak people of New Caledonia. These doorways. With their lintel, sill, and side carvings, were one of the main forms of architectural sculpture for the Kanaks. The large carved boards that flanked the door were among the most striking works of Kanak art. The jovo are usually called chambranles(door jambs) in French. But they do not support ... morethe frame as a door jamb does. Instead, they stand in front of the doorway and keep the horizontal rods, which support the wall material, in place against the actual doorposts. Each meeting house has two jovo, one on each side of the door. They are seldom, if ever, an exact pair. The carvings usually consist of an upper face with a geometric design beneath. But there are stylistic variations and several regional styles in the jovo of New Caledonia. And in the southern region there is sometimes more than one face. Great round houses were and are one of the most powerful symbols of New Caledonian Kanak society. As well as being meeting houses. The clock is now in running condition after being serviced by Clock Doc. Had some corrosion and quite dirty. So needed a good cleaning. Clock Doc thinks this is a Jerome movement and clock, but no such markings to that effect on the movement or case, so you be the judge. The clock has a tin face on it that has been repainted. The other side of the face that is now turned around has what appears to be the original face. But has a lot of paint loss to it. Beautiful wood case and a unique glass/metal fixed window on the front, so that the pendulum swinging can be seen. Also, some great wood access door on the side. of the clock. Springs feel sound on the clock when keyed. The wood ... morecase probably once had wood trim on the sides where the window is and there may have been inlay where the front bottom of case curves back. Will come with a winding key. You are bidding on a vintage wooden wall calendar clock case. I am unsure of a brand on this case as it is not marked anywhere that i can see. The case has glass and wood doors. The door opens and closes properly and the hinges are good and tight. The glass on the door is not cracked or broken anywhere that i can see. There are no chips in the wood that i can see anywhere. There are a couple of marks on the wood that would easily touch up with a stain pen. The case is about 20 inches from top to bottom and about 11 1/2 inches wide at its widest point on the top. This is a vintage USPS Post Office Box Door that has been attached to a modern wooden bank. The door measures 3 7/8" wide x 5 3/8" tall. Including the frame. The whole box's outer measurements are 6 1/2" tall x 5 1/8" wide x 4 1/4" deep, including the door. The inside of the box measures 5" tall x 3 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" deep. It is meant to open only on one number(which I will divulge to the buyer) But its mechanism is a little loose, so it opens on almost any number at the moment.
