He is in good vintage condition, the feather on the arrow has separated from the shaft about 3/4 of the length, but it still remains attached. Antique Vintage Old Large Copper & Brass Weathervane Running Horse Weathervane
This is a beautiful old weathervane. The horse. Directional arrows, and decorative balls appear to be copper. The 3 demensional items are hollow. The horizontal bar under the horse appears to be some other material possibly brass. The verticle rod(black) seems to be steel or iron. I do not know the age, I aquired it at auction in the 80's and thought to add it to a cupola on the barn. This many years later it's still in the garage. This is a very large item and will come disassembled. I'm not sure that I have it assembled correctly but it seems to work. Overall assembled demensions are appx. 45" tall and 31" wide. The Horse is almost 28" wide nose to tail and appx. 13 1/2" tall. There are two decorative balls. Antique verdigris copper standing horse weathervane on cast iron arrow. The horse has been shot up and has considerable seam separation(especially take note of the hindmost leg) But she's all there. Still firmly affixed to the arrow with no repairs. The arrow is pitted and a little crooked but solid. The horse measures 11" long by just over 9 1/8" tall. Tail& body, with at least 18 rivets, possibly handmade, fastened to its metal rod strapping reinforced backside and bracket fittings for roof mount. Please note: rooster beak and crown with slight bend and associated paint loss but no crack. Overall. Weathervane has some minor paint loss and surface rust typical from many years outdoors stationed on a roof, and four small holes under 1/4" near bottom, and few small dings, dents. VINTAGE WOODEN HOUSE SHAPED WEATHERVANE ITALY
Here is a delightful vintage 30-40's wooden house shaped weathervane that is marked MADE IN ITALY. It measures about 6 1/4" high x 7" at the widest and looks to be all wood with very detailed work. It has the look of a chalet style house with kitchen at the first level. And the two figures at the top. On the back it has directions for telling the weather and is in overall good condition, just shows some normal age wear.The only thing that I see that it needs is that it had a little wire or string hooked onto the"couple" and it's missing or off, should be easy to replace, not really sure if it's needed. ANTIQUE- VINTAGE COPPER WEATHERVANE LATE 1800'S
This weathervane was removed from our victorian home in Hastings. NE. the home was built in the late 1880's. It is made of Copper and has a lovely patina as you can see. The base has three holes for easy installation. It spins very easily. The vane is COMPLETE! The horse measures 13" The arrow 19" overall height is 20" I try to describe my auction as fairly as I can. Not an expert just getting rid of many things we have had for years. The very tip of the arrow is missing and that is the only flaw that I know of in this weathervane. Older Primitive Folk Art "ewe" sheep carved wooden weathervane or farm sign
Selling an old and pretty detailed. Hand made, big, primitive, wooden sheep(ewe) weathervane display or 2 sided sign from a Folk Art collection. Reminds me of one of the old 19th century sheep weathervanes. It have several in different forms from the same collection and they all look like weathervanes. All are really well done and made by the same maker. condition ~ Measures 27" long by 17" tall and 1 1/2" wide. Constructed with a very wide(around 12" Heavy wood that was clearly cut by an old circular mill saw. Should only be displayed indoors. Has some warping, age cracks/splits, chips, paint wear and minor losses and scuffs to wood and paint. Wood is fairly brittle. One hard drop or kick would most result in it breaking in 1/2 down the middle horizontally. So, I would call it fairly fragile. Still in one piece and just ... moreshouldn't be handled too much. The dovetailed joints are loose and I would say all of the original shims that kept them in place or filled the gaps are long gone. I added one or two for stability. Square nail construction. An old brace was on one side that I removed because it looks aweful and clearly was old but not original(made from an old 1970's wooden ruler) so some screw holes are visible where I removed it. Very thick and quite heavy. Is barn red and black with traces of maybe silver under that. This looks amazing on a shelf or mantle for display. Buyer agrees to pay $30.00 sh&i. Five Vintage Eleven Point Starburst Weathervane Finials
These old finials are around 7 7/8 inches tall. All 5 of them are bent up one way or another. Since they are copper which is fairly soft. They are pretty easy to bend. There is a lot of good patina on them. One of them has the base twisted. That is why only 4 of them would stand up. This would be a good project for a collector. Vintage Weathervane pc Beautiful Buck & Doe DEER Yard Art architectural Reindeer
This is a great metal architectural piece that would look great in a variety of displays. It was obviously mounted to a pole of some sort as indicated by the bottom. Both ends of the piece are broke off. I bought this being told it was part of an old weathervane-it very well could be-my husband says it could also have been a decor piece for a mailbox. I was going to use it for a'reindeer' Christmas display-but never got around to doing that. The buck and doe deer have a beautiful shape and form. They are a bid 3 dimentional as you can see from the side picture of the buck's nose. 12" x 9" at widest points.

Description ANTIQUE/VINTAGE GARDEN GIRL WEATHERVANE Charming vintage metal silhouette style weather vane measuring 19-1/4" long and almost 9" tall. Featuring a woman in bonnet and period clothing holding a huge watering can with long spout- stylized water pours though the head and quenches several blooming flowers. Metal appears to be either brass or copper- it has a dark patina from age. And it's hard to tell- vane is sturdy and non-pliable- cut outs are mounted into a rather crudely rolled tube base that is held together by three screws- there is a hole in the tube middle bottom for mounting on a vertical stand(no longer present) small holes are pierced in the flower heads and on top of the bonnet. I believe this is a home project, made circa 1920- condition is very good with no bends, breaks or damage other than normal patina ... moreto the metal and although it appears as if a side is missing from one flower, it was made that way- edges are all smooth from age. Just a charming large silhouette image of a woman in her garden- purchased in Ohio, I've had it hanging on the wall for years, but it could easily be mounted for display as a weather vane. ANTIQUE 25 INCH BRONZE NEW ENGLAND HORSE WEATHERVANE
This beautiful bit of history was acquired a number of years ago from an estate sale in Denver. Colorado, but was not used here. It came from a barn or house somewhere on the East Coast in close proximity to the ocean which accounts for the beautiful green patina which covers its surface. The non ferrous metal of which the vane is constructed is bronze and the salt water air blowing in against it over the years has created its wonderful look. The arrow measures 25 inches and the cutout horse figure is 8-1/4 inches long and 7-1/2 inches high. The horse and the arrow’s feathers are 1/8 inch thick. The point of the arrow is a bit thicker and somewhat dimensional. The shaft of the arrow. And the upright tubing to which the compass points are attached, is 5/8 inch copper tubing. The letters…N E S W… are just under 2 inches high. The vane is still ... moreattached to the original piece of wood which was probably a part of the roof structure. That piece of wood may look like a lumberyard 2x4 but is actually tapered and hand hewn. Which attests to its age. The smaller piece of wood nailed to the larger was added just to keep it from tipping over where it was placed on a shelf and will be removed. The two iron bolts are original. And will be included, though one may be removed for shipping. The vane will be shipped as two parts(plus the 2 bolts) in very secure packaging. This auction is for an Antique Cast Iron Lightning Rod Directional Arrow that has a pretty Blue Glass Kite Tail. It measures 22 1/2" Long. The arrow in front of the blue glass kite is iron. The little tail on the blue glass kite is tin. The arrow is straight and the blue glass insert is secure. There is one small chip on the back bottom corner of the blue glass piece that I have pictured for you. It is slight and does not go clear through.just on the surface. There are no cracks in the glass. The color of the blue glass is really pretty. This one is not perfect. But it is cool and it is in quite good condition for it's age. Antique Vtg. Cast Iron Moon Star Red Glass Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow
This auction is for an antique cast iron lightning rod directional arrow. The beautiful red glass tail has a comet/star and moon etched into the glass. The cast iron arrow measures 22 1/4" long. The etched red glass insert measures 6 1/4" x 2 3/8" The iron is a little rusty from being exposed to the elements. But otherwise this piece is in Good Condition. The red glass is intact with no chips or cracks. The cast iron arrow is straight and totally intact. This piece is old and totally original. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART WOODEN SWAN WEATHERVANE ORIGINAL PAINT AAFA
Freshly found. This wonderful swan or hissing goose folk art weathervane has a fabulous, strong presentation in its folky form. Measuring approximately 39” in total length by 11” wide at the widest and about one inch thick, I believe it hails from the first quarter of the 20 th century. The old repairs along the wing and the base appear to have been put in to stabilize cracks that had begun. But not travelled. The neck either had been a separate piece, or had sheared off at some point as it too, has the old pinned repairs. It does fit well when pushed in place but still wobbles, and will need reinforcement along the old pin shadows that have fallen out to make him fully secure again. I’ve left him as shown to show where the old pins had attached. Very, very cool form. Except for the neck needing to be stabilized better, remarkably there is ... moreno damage to the bill nor to the wing tips. Buyer pays exact shipping and insurance. Chicken With A Large Arrow, N,S,E& W Markers, Also With Wind Turning Cups. Size Approx: 22 3/4 x 11 Inches. All Original( Barn Fresh) as it was Found, shows Normal wear from being outside, some rust area's, but overall Fair Original Condition,for it's age. Large, antique "COPPER WEATHERVANE" w/directional arms & base
This old copper weathervane. With directional arms and solid wooden base, was purchased about 30 years ago at an estate sale. The weathervane itself measures 34 1/2 inches long and 22 1/4 inches tall. It is in very good condition. With great patina and no repairs. The directional arms are 25 1/2 inches across and do not appear original to the weathervane. But work great for display along with the heavy wooden block. The"W" directional arm, which must have been damaged at some point was duplicated as close as possible and replaced before I got it(see last picture) The weathervane will be shipped in a separate box from the directional arms and base.
