Vintage, casement window stays salvaged from the windows of a former cream production plant(see last photos) in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The plant was built during the 1890's, however, these most likely replaced the originals sometime during the middle of the previous century. Each stay is made of solid steel. And was originally brass plated. Much of the plating wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The amount of plating varies from part to part(see"Group photos" to compare) If you are not familiar with this type of hardware. It keeps the window open at a specified distance from the sill. When you wish to open the window, loosen the knob by simply turning it in a counter clockwise direction. Open the window as far as you like, and once you wish to lock it in place, simply turn the knob clockwise until can't turn anymore. This will prevent wind from moving the window. At the point of salvage. The stays were painted, dirty, and rusty(see"Prior to restoration" photo) Since then, we've spent hours removing the paint, cleaning the dirt and rust from the outside of each stay, and greasing them to facilitate their movement. Micron Transport Trek Vintage Laptop - Windows & Office 2000 + HDD w/ Windows 98
Up for auction is a Micron Transport Trek Laptop from around 1998 All above photos(plus a couple extras) can be seen here: This laptop retailed for around $2500 when new! This is like 98% Off! There are a few flaws but it seems to be working as it should. FYI. I have not tried any of the ports shown in Photo 3 except for the Power Jack and the USB. DOES NOT COME WITH A CHARGER! I have a universal charger that I have used with it(that I'm going to keep) but I will be sure to fully charge the battery before anyone buys it. Speaking of the battery. It holds a charge surprisingly long! I have left this laptop unplugged and powered off for weeks/months and I was still able to power it on without a charger connected. When I run it unplugged it seems to last anywhere from 30 minutes on up depending on what I'm doing with it. Not bad for ... morea 16 year old laptop! It is*NOT* a burner. By the way- it only*reads* CDs. You can see in the last photo that there are two minor cracks on the LCD bezel. And that the power button is missing. The cracks do not affect performance. They just mean you need to be somewhat careful when you raise the screen. The power button doesn't matter that much as you can reach in with your finger and hit the actual button on the motherboard. The only real downside is that it's easier for dust to get in. Another issue is that the CMOS battery seems to be dead(and soldered to the MB) I've reset the system date a few times but it keeps reverting. Specs: Hardware: 266 MHz Pentium with MMX 40GB Hard Drive Spare(original) 3240MB Hard Drive w/ Windows 98 installed on it 80MB RAM(16MB are hardwired to the MB. The 5 1/4" floppies copied and read just fine. So I copied the*FON font files from the 5.25" floppy containing the font files to a 720K 3.5" 720K floppy, and labeled it FONTS. This new disk now has the same files that were originally on the 3.5" disk that would not read properly. Although there is about 10K of bad sectors on the"new" floppy, all of the files copied just fine. My guess is the bad sectors ON THAT DISK won' make any difference. If there is indeed copy protection, it would probably be on the program disk. I put this disk in with the other FONT 3.5" disk. Note: None of the original disks were written to. This is a bird house that is handmade and hand painted. It measures 11 1/2 in tall. the roof measures 10 1/2 in wide and 5 1/4 in. It has a long 10 in hook on it as seen in picture 6. in picture 8 it shows hand painted window and flowers and vine design. There is a natural crack in the wood. Shown in picture 3, the wood is 3/4 inch thick. The whole thing is 20 in tall including the hook. The house itself is 10 in. tall. Roof end to end 7 1/2 in wide on the hand painted side. This auction is for three vintage. Antique Valentines that have WINDOWS THAT OPEN. A fun type Valentine with surprises and messages inside. The first Valentine(top) is MADE IN GERMANY. It is a beautifully created. Die-cut piece that pulls apart to reveal a little girl with gifts and a bouquet of flowers in her arms. This is a very sturdy, well made card in excellent condition. It measures 3-7/8" tall by 3-1/4" wide when closed. It has not been signed on the back. A beautiful, rare Valentine. A simple verse reads"To My Valentine" EXCELLENT CONDITION.
