Marked 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Good old vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft stuff they use in modern reproduction hinges. Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900's. The acorns are nickel on brass and it has worn some in places and the brass shows through in some areas. These have a nice smooth. Clean casting. The pins are loose and removable. These hinges are ready to go and swing for the next 100 years.

Up for auction today are two very ornate Victorian Art Deco style door hinges. The hinges are very ornate on the pins. Front and back portion that would be exposed when installed. They measure 5” by 5” when open and 1/8” thick. Total height including the pins is 8” The only markings are 5 x 5 on the backside. It appears that they were bronze/ copper plated at one time. But most of the plating is missing. There is some tan paint in spots and a little bit of surface rust– no pitting. Group of 3 Vintage Ornate Hinges
This is a group of 3 vintage ornate hinges. The rectangular ones are 2 1/2 inches in length and appear to be brass-plated. I think they would look really nice once they are cleaned and polished. The smallest one is approximately 2 inches top to bottom. It has a spot where the existing finish has worn and might look best with a new finsh. Antique Victorian icebox lock catch hinges vintage cast brass ice chest hardware
I have a nice set of ornate Victorian Eastlake cast brass icebox hardware for your consideration. Includes three nice hinges that open and close smoothly. Measure 4 1/8 x 2 inches. A nice large surface rim lock with ornate Eastlake patterning. Hinged handle, and latch. measures 4 5/8 x 2 3/8 inches. It works nicely as well although there is no key for locking mechanism. As well, there was a repair on the right hinge pin. Looks like it was replaced with a brass pin. As the original would have been iron. There was a small amount of grinding marks where the repair was. Not very noticable but I wanted to make you aware. See last two pics closely. And a nice hard to find matching catch for latch. All are cast brass with no cracks or breaks. The back service panel on lock is iron and has a date June 28th 1887. Hard to read date. 5 pieces in this ... moreset. Nice set for renovated furniture, cabinet, or cupboard as well. VINTAGE 1955 MEDIUM BRASS P.O.BOX DOOR w/ hinges & frame*
This is a brass with glass Post Office Lockbox door manufactured and put in service in 1955. It measures 5 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" tallIt is called Grecian Style. It was made by The Keyless Lock Company of Indianapolis. Indiana. It has the original lockbox combination registry card and shows some of the conbination changes and also the present one. It is working properly& I put a drop of sewing machine oil in it. This was the original box number applique. On the back of the card is a stamp of Baily, Mich 49303. As zip codes weren't used until 1963, that could be the first post office that used it or it could be one of the places of use during it's life. They are no longer using doors with glass inserts when installing more in a post office- for security purposes. Therefore these are now collectables.
