They're really unique with wonderful design and incredibly sturdy construction- maybe a hurricane could move these but that would be about it- they are heavy. The garden fixtures are triangular with matching cartouche designs front and back. The bottoms are open so I suspect clever light placement would illuminate the plexi panels that are covered on the inside with rice paper. Please note a captured a photo above of sunlight coming through. There isn't a heat escape so I don't think a candle would work. I believe their original purpose was to line a garden path. An opening for a rod or chain is present on the top horizontal piece with obvious left and right finials on the ends. Up for auction today is a cool vintage Souvenir Silverplate Bookmark from the Garden of the Gods park in Colorado. This bookmark is spear shaped. Measuring approx. 2 1/2" long x 1/2" wide. It has the"Gateway" rock formation on the top, and the words"Garden of the Gods" at the bottom. I cannot find any markings on the back. The cast metal roof would measure 11 1/2" diameter if it were complete. But as you can see in the photos 30- 40% of the roof has been broken away. The good news is that the roof turns so that the broken part could be hidden beneath some foliage. The Pagoda design depicts a bamboo structure. To open the lantern door. Simply pull to swing open. Fun. Fun, fun quilt blocks! 49 very colorful antique/vintage 1930s Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt blocks measuring approximately 5" X 5 1/2" Each flower measures 3" X 3" and has been hand pieced. Each block has 3 flowers pieced together. I've never seen this variation of this pattern but it quite lovely and unusual. Hand made and hand stitched at about 6- 7 spi, stitches are petite and even- I find no machined stitching anywhere on the quilt blocks. Pieced, tiny 1" hexagonals in a variety of festive cotton novelty prints and a rainbow of colors, flowers have been done in the fussy cut style with yellow, blue, green, lt pink, dark pink and lavender centers. 49 completed blocks and 3 uncompleted flowers(to make 1 block) You'll love these rare. Vintage Japanese CAST IRON Pagoda Garden Lantern CROOKED LIMB 34" TALL awesome !
Up for bid is a beautiful. Vintage, antique, cast iron Japanese lantern on a cast iron crooked limb style base. The lantern stands 34 inches tall and is quite heavy. There is some rust but nothing that effects the structural integrity of the piece. I have been selling on ebay since 1999 and this is only the third lamp of this style I have found. This lamp is much older and of higher quality than the previous two. The door that is supposed to be on the lantern is missing. It is dirty, but,There is NO DAMAGE OR REPAIR. This lantern is not marked made in Japan, there is no makers mark that I can find. The other two I had were marked with made in Japan cast into the bottom of the pagoda style roof, I assume this was cast in Japan also. Summer garden! This dress has been cut from vintage fabric that is called Swiss dot in a cream color. I tacked a button to the bodice. The dress has been stained and baked. It's about 18" long. I attached a prim. Homespun flower ornie to the dress with a rusty safety pin. I added a bird prim tag, too. This dress will come with a twig hanger. Shipping will be $3.00 First Class Mail.
