Great antique/vintage metal bucket with awesome blue paint. Wonderful patina with rust. Scuffs, marks, etc typical of age and use. Measures 8 7/8" tall x 5 3/4" at bottom and 6 3/4" at top. There are four tiny pinholes are edge of bottom, so this could not hold water. There are two seams on this bucket that run from top to bottom. Top edge is rolled/folded over. There is a round opening on one side near top(about 1/4" around) making me wonder if this was possibly use to hang on a tree and collect sap? At any rate, it is a fantastic piece for farm, country, cottage, shabby, Paris apartment, primitive style. Many decorative uses. From a local farm auction. The water comes out of the frog's mouth at the top. This water fountain came from a prominent estate during the 1950s, but is believed to be from the 1920s- 1930s. The gardener remembers turning the fountain on when the children would play with their large wind-up pond boats. Most of the original paint has chipped off. No markings found. This is not a very old quilt, just probably from the 1980's, we believe(opinion based on the pastel colors of the fabrics used and other details) But it is still a very nice, very well made quilt in a difficult and not that common pattern, for your consideration. It might have been made abroad by a company like Arch Quilts. From New York, but there are no labels or anything attached to this quilt that would allow us to confirm it. It might be a quilt made by quilters in America, for all we know. The main problem with it is of course the numbers written on the top. Please check our pics to see the location and size. The quilt has some light batting. Not much: it is more a bedspread than a comforter, certainly. The measurements we took are the maximum. But has a little wear, some discoloration and residue on the inside(I just gave it a quick cleaning, you may want to scrub it like crazy, but it's ready to go for dirty outside jobs) Etc.
