These still retain about 60% of their original copper flash finish. The condition is good with a few darken age spots and a few dabs of old paint. These are getting increasingly hard to find in this condition, when you consider only a few Victorian homes had 2 or 3 of these you then can understand ... morewhy. Although these were originally used as handrail brackets they also can be used as a unique and interesting small shelf brackets. A friend of mine used ones similar to these for that in her bathroom and I must say they looked good. The circular attachment base is about 2 ¼” diameter and they would extend from the wall about 3 ¼” I also have a pair like these listed that don’t extend out quite as much. Circ. late 1800s– 1920s. Here's two antique shelf brackets as found with chipped white paint and rust. They were found together but they are not an exact match. They are almost the same size. The Scroll one is just a tad over 9" long and 6-3/4" wide. The Flower one is 8-7/8" long and just shy of 7" wide. They have an art deco design and together they weigh approximately 2 pounds 4 ounces. Antique Heavy Rustic Barn / Utility Iron Shelf Brackets / Braces
These were salvaged from an old barn. They are cast iron support braces/ brackets for use on a shelf or work bench. These are very heavy and quite strong.They were used to support a work bench in the barn that had a long and heavy wood top. Each one has the two ends bent to a 45 degree angle. The top and the bottom mount flush to the wall and under the work it is supporting. They are in very good condition with no breaks. Chips or cracks in the cast iron. After noticing that 2 of the leaves come right to the end and two are set back about 1/2" I measured each one, they are as follows. 1- 16" x 9" 1- 15 1/4" x 8 3/4" and 2 are 15 3/4" x 8 3/4" The pattern is the same just 1/4" to 1/2" difference on a few, hard to tell why or even notice with your eye.
