This unit can be used on right-hand or left-hand doors(the latch can be reversed without taking the unit completely apart) And the door knob shaft is adjustable to be used on one of three different thicknesses of doors. This Rim Lock has a brass latch, lock, and night latch. This unit has all three springs, all in the right locations and working properly. Authentic/ Genuine Carpenter No. 60 Rim lock from the 1800's. I purchased an old home that was built between 1844 and 1877 and it still had some of the original door locks and knobs installed. I will be auctioning off the other locks and knobs soon. This lock comes with everything in the pictures. The items in the pictures are the actual items you will receive. This lock is still in working condition. The lock box measures 7" wide and 4 3/4" tall. It comes with the mounting hardware. Original key, 2 glass door knobs with assembly and the keeper. This surface mount Rim Lock is in like new condition. It has not been blasted but carefully stripped of paint and is in excellent condition. The lock is complete with iron keeper and original Brass key and blth latch and dead bolt work perfectly. The Makers name R+E Mfg Co. is cast into it and all is 100% original and well over 110 yrs old. The Lock measures 4" Tall X 5" wide and 6" long over all including keeper.

I have a very old early industrial age cast iron rim lock for your consideration. Patd over 150 years old. Dating on box is 1863 and 1864. Marked D. M. Co. New Haven. Lock still works although will need a cleaning and lubrication inside. Outside has some minor surface rust. The catch has a small chip on the end but would still work for reuse. Could be repaired if needed. I carefully removed backplate to inspect and all seems there. There is no key for the deadbolt. You will have to have one made or find one that works. This has a standard 1/4 inch drive gear that engages and disengages latch. Nice old heavy manufactured lock for your vintage renovation. Replace or collection. An antique door rim lock that appears to be hand-made. I am not a hardware collector. But I had someone who was knowledgeable of old hardware look at it. I am only passing along what I was told, but do not guarantee it. He told me that it was an old rim lock that was probably hand made of iron and probably dated to the first part of the 19th century and maybe even into the 18th century. He also thought it was American made. He also said that it was probably removed from the wood and cleaned. The wooden part measures about 9" by 4 1/2"by 1 1/4" The metal or iron portion measures about 5 1/2" by 3 1/2" by 3/4" The wooden portion has 3 holes where it was used to mount to the door and the metal portion has 2 small holes for mounting to the wood(and the holes are also in the wood corresponding to the metal) I feel ... morepretty confident that the lock belongs to the piece of wood even though it is no longer secured to it. The skeleton key was found with the lock and the lock still works(though not well and the key gets stuck and has to be wiggled and worked to get back out of the hole) Please email with any questions. 1700's, Very Early Rim Lock, Thumb Lever
This is a very early 1700's Rim Lock. Has spring levered thumb latches. That raises the catch up and down, It has no key, but it looks like it would work with the right key. Has and extra Thumb lever that works good. Original patina. As you can see it has some surface rust. It is 5 1/2" long x 4 1/4" wide x 1" thick. Great piece of very early hardware.

This lock was made by the FOLGER ADAM CO. It appears to have been stored for a number of years and never used. The brass is tarnished from age and just needs to be polished or buffed.The lock. Keeper, key cylinder and remaining parts do not show any ware on them and do work. The lock has 1 key and the lock cylinder has 2 keys. Antique Rim lock with dead bolt and catch, cast iron, Sargent & Co. Small
We are offering an Antique Rim Lock for a door that is ready to go if you add a standard square shaft(antique) and knobs. There is a slide latch to work the deadbolt which works as it should. The door latch also works fine using a screw driver since I cannot seem to find any of the old square shafts. The catch which goes on the opposite door jamb is also included- I am not certain that it is made for this lock. But it is the correct size. I am unsure how it goes on. The catch is"Pat Feb 24, 57" I assume 1857) The lock is marked on the back"Sargent& Co. see 3rd photo above) Not including the latch and extended dead bolt. Two handsome doorknobs with fancy rosette, an ornate key plate, and one working(newer) key. The antique rim lock was manufactured in the late 19th century. Cast iron.
