We've described it as a lock/latch, it does have it's original key (obviously only works from the outside), the keys been repaired at some point and it needs quite a turn to engage the lock. The keep has hidden screws, see last pic, we've made a couple of repairs to the handles & replaced the collar that held the handles against the lock with a bolt, it will need recessing a few mm into the door, its a bit fiddly, so we'll leave it connected (let us know if you want us to remove it) Great original working condition, some marks and scratches especially around the handle entry.

The knobs are primarily designed for rim lock fitting having only one back plate. The condition of the knobs is above average for an item of this age. With normal surface wear consistent with use. They are mounted on a drilled spindle with locking grub screws and will give a precise fit to a door + rim lock of between 2" to 3" in combined thickness. Measurements. Rare French Rim Lock/Cremorne Combination 2 Door Set signed Rouillard Paris
This is a rare French Rim Lock/Cremorne Combination signed Rouillard Paris. There is a gold Fire-gilded finish over the bronze. it is not perfect but it is beautiful. You see rim lock set. But this combination is very rare. Turn one door knob and it operates the door latch and turn the other knob and it operates the top and bottom bolts at the same time where double doors can open with ease. On the edge of each lock is stamped Rouillard"Paris" It appears to have come from a chateaux or grand house and the quality of workmanship rarely found in a lock set. You can see what you will get and the condition in the pictures. This is a fabulous rare antique French rim lock/Cremorne set dating from at least the 1800's possibly earlier. It is fully functional and could be installed to fulfill it's use or it could just be displayed ... moreas a decorative object and admired for it's sheer beauty. The set measures: top and bottom pieces are 3 1/8" long, 1 3/4" wide. Piece between knobs and top piece is 5 1/2" long, 1 3/4" wide. the latch piece is is 6" long, 3 1/4" wide, 1 1/8" thick. the piece that uses the bolts is 8" long, 3 1/4" wide, 1 1/8" thick and from where the top bolt hooks in to where the bottom bolt is 7 1/2" tall.Do not have the bolts for the set, the length of those would be what height of door you use. The bolts would be straight pieces of metal. I have not cleaned the pieces, they are the way I bought them, a good cleaning I think would bring out more of the beauty. There is a picture of a set of doors to show how it would look. I have looked all over the internet and have not seen a set like this for sale. Texas residents 8.25 sales tax. Large antique door rim lock in brass with porcelain and brass knobs- no key- This item is a heavy duty antique mortice lock in brass. It weighs 1.2Kg including Knobs. Dimensions = 13cm Height x 10cm Width x 4.5cm Thick/ Catch Flange x 3cm Thick/ Mortice Flange Good condition for age with nice patina. But if preferred would clean up nicely. The porcelain knob is in good condition but needs a retaining bolt. I haven't looked into it. But I would guess a good locksmith could make up a replacement key. The lock has a smooth action when the knobs are turned and the catch releases very nicely. The only thing I can tell you about the history of this item is that I recently bought it in Bolivia. I suspect it was manufactured by Corbin in the US. But there are no makers marks only a number/ 347RH. So this is a guess based on the styling. Many ... morethanks for looking!

Genuine Vintage Solid Plate Chrome Rim Lock Set
Solid and very very heavy plate chrome and brass rim lock complete with solid metal chromed rim handles solid metal chromed escutcheon cover plate and two keys. This lock is the real deal. All my stock is genuine vintage. I just don't sell copies or flimsy modern lookalike items. This is a locking latch. There is no dead bolt. The latch itself is locked when the key is turned. There is a solid metal chromed rim face keeper supplied with this lock which has been omitted from the pic's mainly because I'm a pratt. But. It still comes with the set. Unused from new. I bought them in the 70's for a job but choice was changed at last minute. They were old stock then and it stored at best so there are slight marks on them as you can see in photos.

Antique 18th Century Pennsylvania Dutch Elbow Rim Door Lock Hand Forged Hardware
Here we have a beautiful and rare early door lock of the type called a Dutch Elbow Rim Lock and that is in Excellent condition. This is the rare type of lock where the outside handle can be unscrewed and removed effectively locking the door. These locks are rather uncommon and especially more so to find them with their original handle. I found this lock many years ago up in Pennsylvania on the door of a fallen down 18 th century house which is from when I think it dates from. Lock plate measures about 3 1/8 x 5 inch and is about 1 inch thick. Has a sliding" dead bolt" on the bottom as you can see. Lock never had a regular key. Lock works as it is supposed too. No missing or damaged parts. Up for offer is an antique heavy duty original Victorian Carpenter& Tildesley cast iron door rim lock in good cosmetic condition and working order. This lock was in the family for generations. And was last used on a large family farmhouse in the 1980's. It dates around the late 1860's and comes complete with decorative brass edged keep and original key. Brass manufacturers escutcheon shows a Coat of Arms emblem and reads CARPENTER& TILDESLEY MANUFACTURERS. The key turns nicely and iron catch comes out and retracts wonderfully. Large Heavy Victorian Rim Lock - Handle - Keep - John Walker & Worsly Birmingham
Here for auction is a large heavy Victorian salvaged rim lock. Brass handle, forged steel keep and brass escutcheon. The rim lock, handle, keep and escutcheon are in good condition and in working order. The rim lock is of forged steel and is of an oblong shape. With applied brass detail. There is a shield shaped brass disk which reads SOMMERFIELDS PATENT JOHN WALKER& WORSLY 14 EDMUND ST. BIRMINGHAM. John Walker and Henry Baxter Worsly were manufacturing locks in Birmingham until their company was dissolved in 1894. There is an unusual gravity operated latch mechanism, and a spring loaded deadbolt action(please see photograph) I do not have the key for this lock, however a good locksmith should be able to cut one if needed. I have polished up the show brass retaining it aged appearance. The brass knobs date from about the same period and ... morehave some knocks in them. But these do not notice that much. One of the brass knobs is permanently secured to the steel spindle, and the other knob fit on to the other end of the spindle and is secured with a grub screw. The original forged steel keep has decorative applied brass detail and the later brass escutcheon compliments the lock well. The lock measures approximately 115 mm(4 1/2" high. And 160 mm(6 1/4" wide. The center of the handle spindle to the outside of the lock measures 115 mm(4 1/2" The keep measures approximately 114 mm(4 1/4" high. And 33 mm(1 2/8" wide. Salvaged 1920's-1930's Brass Door Handle with Brass Back Plate - for rim lock
Here for auction is a 1920's-30's brass. And steel door handle set, in good usable condition. This door handle set is suitable for use with a traditional rim lock. And is in good condition for its age, having some age related small knocks and scratches, but these are minor. One of the knobs is permanently fixed to the steel spindle and the other knob fits onto the other end and is secured with a grub screw. There is a decorative ribbed pattern to outside diameter of each knob. Originally the brass knob would have screwed onto the end of the spindle but because of wear it now only slides on. But says in place well once the grub screw in secured. The later round back plate fits over the end one of the knobs. Each knob measures approximately 50 mm(2" deep. And 58 mm(2 1/4" in diameter and the round back plate is 50 mm(2" ... morein diameter.
