This is for a neat old ceiling light for a building or porch but would look great in that man cave or garage too. The globe is a very heavy thick glass. What I think they may call explosion proof. It is marked below the ribs with 2328 HOLOPHANE REG. US PAT. OFF. The globe measures approx. 8 ½” wide x 8 ½” tall with a 4 ¼” across the opening. The globe seems to be in really nice shape with only some slight roughness on the inside of the rim. The socket and cast iron fitting are marked with the name KILLARK with the top of the metal fitting also saying ½ VGA and the porcelain socket says 660W 250V. It has been wired for 110 with 12 gauge wire. With the wires being almost 40” long so if anyone wanted to put a longer extension pipe on for making the light hang lower. You may want to have it checked out by an electrician before ... moreyou use it as this is used. This is one of several sconces we got recently. They all need re-wiring. And various amount of TLC. This 2-light sconce is brass. It's dirty. We cleaned it a little. And some of the original accent paint showed through- Arts& Crafts green. The metal is solid, but one of the bobeshes is bent. The sconce does not stick to a magnet. I was told this was hand crafted/made by the gentleman I purchased it from(I asked about the glass and was told he didn't make the glass) The glass does move. Although there are little tabs inside to hold it in place and they do work, just noting the glass is not affixed and does have movement, which is why I have left the paper inside it. interesting paper, too, which I will include as giant was selling watermelon for 8 cents per pound.and just because the paper was with it to keep the glass tight. It does clearly have solder marks and I do not see any other markings, besides"leviton" on the inside where the bulb screws into. I was also told it was never used; made as a gift for his mother who passed before it was conveyed. Offered is a pair(2) of vintage COPPER exterior porch/wall/fixture Sconces. As found, in desperate need of cleaning(and will leave for purchaser) Each sconce has a frosted globe and each has wires in the back but they are frayed. I was told they were working when they were removed but I would expect new wiring will most definitely be required to get these to work. The inside of one(where the bulb screws in) is rather pristine but the other has some debris and a bit of rusting. You can see some of the original copper color in a couple places and the sconces measure approximately 8" from back plate to end of lantern x 5.5" estimated from cage edge) wide x 5.5" deep. I have added extra keywords in the title only because I have not been able to identify this light fixture. I believe it is a work of art and think someone else will love it too! Very heavy wrought iron frame with a brushed silver finish. Picture#18 shows paint loss and the iron underneath. Metal red cone shape hood is attached to the vertical arms that hold the glass shade. I do not see how you would remove the shade. The shade is badly broken and repaired. Maybe because there is no way to change the shade? It is broken around the top edge also. See picture#18. Beautiful Antique or Vintage Copper and Brass Porch or Accent Light
This is really a great light. Very unique. As you can see, I started to polish and reveal the metals, which look like both copper and brass. The base, back plate and top appear to be copper and the curly top and knob look like brass. This will look incredible once fully restored. The only info I could find on this company was from the 1930s which is likely commensurate with the age and patina on this lantern fixture. It measures 15 inches long from ceiling canopy to base. The base diameter of the lantern is 6-1/4 inches. The interior"jelly jar" glass measures 4-3/4 inches long and 4-1/4 inches in diameter. The glass is thick and heavy and completes the light perfectly. The lights branch is on a pivot so it can be turned into the wall if not in use. For sale is an early 20th century cast iron porch light. It features and ornate back plate and arm. I believe it to all be original. The light itself is unmarked. The globe reads"P- Made In The USA. The cast iron has a beautiful patina and age to it. There is still some very slight remnants of the original paint visible, as well as some of the original cloth wiring. Up for auction is an Arts and Craft style lantern sconce fixture. Made of copper and leaded amber glass. No breaks in light or leaded glass. Light is in very good working condition with nice green patina. There is some house paint on the edge of the canopy and lead that I did not attempt to remove. Light was rewired with vintage brass lampholder. Very nice glow from the original amber orange peel textured glass. Check out the pics as they are part of the description. No ground on this light. As with all period light fixtures have it checked out by an electrician before installation. I pack with several layers of bubble wrap and use oversized HD Home Depot packing boxes when needed. Antique 1920's Art Deco Arts & Crafts Mission porch light sconces lanterns x2
Up for auction is(2) Antique 1920's Art Deco light sconces. Very rare set of sconces that I have never seen before or since I obtained this pair. Sconces are 100% original with no breaks or dings in the metal. Original brass lampholders were used. Reinsulated and rewired. These lights are copper plated brass with original orange peel textured glass. Antique copper) Each light has 8 pieces of glass in it. The original tabs that hold the glass in place has eroded away over time as they were very thin copper tabs. To hold the glass in place I used RTV silicone dabbed on several sides of each panel where the glass meets fixture. Turned out better than original tabs because they don't shake and rattle under the tabs. These lights are stunning and put off a wonderful amber glow. Light emits all around this fixture even in the rear since ... morethere is glass on every side. You won't find a better example of 1920's Art Deco style sconces. Picture#12 is of a page of a 2002 price guide for Depression era lights. The sconce is pictured in the lower left. This is the only other image I have seen of these lights. This is a beautiful example of American craftsmanship. It would look great as a porch light. A hall light, or in or outside the boat house. The anchor on top is very unusual, and really sets the light off! usually I recommend wiring a light of this age before use, but this light is ready to connect to power source! Light has a clear, decorative globe, with protective wires surrounding it. Housing is copper, which will last forever standing up to the elements. Light has a partial UL tag, and a partial EWU tag inside base. Light measures approx. 9.5" from point of anchor to bottom of light where bulb screws in, 6.5" from front of frame to where light attattches to wall, and approx. 18.25" in circumference around protective wires around globe. Up for bid is a Vintage Frosted Porch-Ceiling-Hall Light Fixture Shade Globe in a Hexagon Design. This replacement globe measures 3-inches at the opening and is 6-inches tall. It features frosted glass on 5 sides and is clear. But ornate on the 6th side. The globe is in excellent used condition with no cracks or repairs. Nice old ceiling porch light fixture. The cast iron base or fitter has a old white paint and surface rust patina. The glass globe is smokey looking. You can also see the nice swirling ing the glass from when it was made. The globe and base both are in undamaged condition. All set screws are free on the base. There is no socket or wire. Vintage 1930's Hall. Porch, or Bathroom Sky Blue Pressed Diamond Pattern Glass Globe ``~ Unique Globe as it is round but 1/3rd is indented approx. 1/2 in. ~~ `` This forms the Diamond Pattern Front. Bottom of Globe has a Crystal Manhattan Pattern with a Diamond Center. Back of Globe has a Diamond Sunrise Pattern. Globe stands approx: 8 3/4 inches tall and is 4 inches at it's widest. Fitter is 2 15/16 across the outside lip and 2 1/2 inches on the inside. There is one very small chip on outside fitter edge( will not be seen when mounted) There is a small paint scrape at the bottom of the crystal front. For your Consideration I have a Very Unique Item Here. Antique Vintage Copper& Steel Mission Light Wall Porch Fixture. I deal with a lot of old lighting and never ran across one quite like this. I believe this is from around the 30s or 40s. It came off a old house that was tore down years ago then sat around for many more years. It ideally would be a porch light It appears the socket is porcelain and I believe at one time it probably had glass in it as it is now you could have your own glass made for it what ever color you like or even some fancy etched glass would look way cool. This light measures 14 5/8" Tall not including the hook on top and 8 1/2" wide and weighs 6lbs 14 oz. It looks like a hammered copper over steel. Very Cool Fixture. Thank you very much for looking.
