Description This antique circa 19th century treen eagle birds head ornament is possibly off an old mirror pediment or similar. It is nicely hand carved in oak. The head and first part of the neck are in one piece of wood, the lower part of the neck are in two pieces of wood glue jointed together. This lovely old piece has its original finish and old patination, particularly to the back of the head and base. The center is highly carved(spoon carving) with detailed flowers and leaves across the entire panel. The carved portion measures approx 49 by 7in. This is a heavy piece, weighs almost 10 lbs. before packing. The panel edges are beveled to slip on adjoining panel(tounge& grove) and the beveled tounge has splits that can be glued or removed based on your intended usage. It has a rich patina with deeply carved leaf design& nicely beveled edges Approx measurements are 5 in. wide. 48 in. long and 2 in. thick at the widest point. The carving is clean and deep with the wide edge being skillfully tooled. This peice graced my fireplace under the mantle for 30+ years adding charm and grace to the room. A wonderful carved wood antique French door cresting or pediment. This has the most lovely deep carving and scrolls. There is the classic French shell carving at the top scrolling down to swirling art nouveau-ish acanthus leaves- it's quite beautiful. It measures approx. 81 x 31 cms. It stands proud by approx. 10 cms. this is the depth of the decorative carving at the top. The base stands proud by approx. 4 cms. In very good condition with just a tiny slither missing from one side of the top. Not very easy to see but it's there- or rather nor there. Showing in the last photo. There are some holes at the top of each end where there would once have been some twiddly bits. It's has a light'lime' wash to accentuate the fabulous richly carved detail. It weighs just over 3kgs. Drop dead MAGNIFICENT PIECE! Circa 1800s. Architectural panel. The carving is off the charts. Add hooks for a great one of a kind coatrack! The piece has raised bevelled framing along the outside. Ornate trim divides 3 separate sections. In each section is raised beveled panels. Carved crests at each end and 4 round pyramid medallions. 100% of carving is present and intact! Pieces of this quality are getting harder and harder to find. Nice walnut patina. It measures slightly over 36 1/8 inches by 11 3/4 inches. ANTIQUE SOLID OAK CARVED GALLERY PEDIMENT w/FINIALS & SPINDLES
Up for bid is a stunning antique mid to late 19th century. Solid oak furniture pediment or top gallery that probably once graced a nice cupboard or cabinet. Standing nearly 10" high x 43-1/2" in length, this pediment has returns of 13" in length or depth. There are 4 finials that grace the top rail of the gallery rail above some very nicely turned, urn shaped spindles. Each blocked plynth holds a finial rising above the railing and is faced with a double hip-like rectangular medallion situated on at least 3 sides of the plynth. The center is nicely carved with a rectangular hip-like medallion, flanked by carved acanthus leaves. The two center finials are missing the top ball portion of the finial, as seen in the pics, unlike the two outer finials, which are complete. The missing ball tops, must have broke off quite a few years ... moreago, because the top grain of wood, shows quite a bit of patina. There also appears to be remnants of old white paint, in some of the oak grain, though it also looks like it could be removed if the winning bidder deems it necessary. There is even some quartersawn oak used at the block plynths and finials. At present, there does not seem to be any other finish covering the wood. If you're looking for a superb solid oak gallery or furniture pediment, you'll not want to miss out bidding on this gem, and allowing it to get away. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SOLID & VENEER QUARTERSAWN OAK CARVED PIANO BOARD PEDIMENT
Up for bid is. As the title states, an"Absolutely Stunning" antique carved quartersawn oak pediment. Standing just about 17-1/2" high x just under 54" wide and maybe 3/4 to 7/8" thick, this pediment is divided into three panels. Each panel is heavily carved with oak leaves and acorns. There are a few minor places, pointed out on the left panel where some of the carving has chipped off, but these places are minor and do not take away from the beauty of this pediment as a whole. Believed to be from a piano or pump organ, possibly dating back to the late 19th century, this panel has survived a lot of years. There is also some minor veneer pulled away from the foundation of wood, probably oak, underneath, as pointed out in the 3rd pic, but I believe this could be easily fixed with a little hide glue, with a wax paper ... morecover and some heavy weight like a few books laid on top to push it back down, while the glue drys. There is also one piece of veneer, seen in the last pic which has come off and will be included so that if you, as the winning bidder, deem it necessary, can re-glue it as well. The pediment does have it's original finish though aged quite a bit, It could easily be cleaned to bring out more of it's stunning quartersawn grain patterns. Shipping and insurance will be close to $45.00, due to size alone, except to Hawaii, Alaska and all international destinations, where I will ship to, however, costs tend to be a bit higher. This is an architectural salvage piece and has some slight surface scratches to the 49 1/8" long x 24" deep x 1 3/4" thick console top which is composite material(black w/white flake) And should polish out as the color goes all the way through. There is also a 45 3/4" long x 1/4" wide slot, 1/4" from the back edge of the top which I assume is for a back splash(not included) The side and front edges have an ogee detail, it is drilled out for an 8" center faucet(not included) and the oval sink cutout measures 18 1/8" wide x 14 1/2" deep. The counter top is marked on the bottom" ID SURFACE? and THIS SIDE DOWN" When you look at the bottom you can see the color goes all the way through. ... moreThe sink is an under mount, American Standard in white, measures about 23" wide x 18" front to back, and is 7 1/2" deep to bottom of drain. This comes with the mounting screws and brackets shown, no drain hook-ups, see pictures for detail, there is a chip out of the under side of the sink but is not noticeable from the top nor does it effect the stability of the unit. The sink and counter top weigh aver 60#s. The legs are a polished cast brass and come with the screws for mounting it to the under side of the console. They weig h about 13#s apiece. These have some scuffing and will need to be polished out. The apron is in great c ondition. It isn't as scuffed as the legs. This part weighs nearly 6#s. See all pictures for condition detail. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Pediment, Urn With 2 Birds
This is a Gorgeous Antique Cast Iron Pediment. Pediment is approximatyely 24 1/2" wide x 9 1/2" tall. Pediment is white and has a large urn in the center and a bird facing the urn on both sides. Pediment has weight to it because it is cast iron. It has a white finish on it but you can see rust in about 4 areas and some coloring showing through the finish in various places. I love these old pediments. They are great to prop up on a mantel or dresser or sometimes even in your kitchen on the counter or behind your sink. It is really a lovely old pediment. Offered for sale is a Stunning Ethan Allen Vintage Georgian Court Cherry Pediment Poster King Headboard. This headboard is item#11-5641 in the#225 finish. The number 7/0 appears along with the item number and I believe this to be a California King Headboard. There are several holes drilled so the bed can be used as California King or a regular King. The headboard can be found on page#275 in the 96th edition of the Ethan Allen Treasury of American Home Interiors. Please note this item(11-5641) was offered by Ethan Allen as the headboard only. The same bed was sold with the footboard and side rails(item# 5654) Ethan Allen describes their Georgian Court line as having. There are some scratches low on the stretcher rail(won't show with bed assembled) and a few very tiny dings and one area where the finish is rubbed near the center(see pic# 10) There is also chipping on the very back bottom of the post/foot where the washer may have gouged into the wood(see pic#12) This will not show as it will be next to the wall. The Ethan Allen name is stamped on the back stretcher rail as well as the date and item number. The headboard finish is shiny and reflected items in the room which accounts for the color variation in the pictures. The colors of the headboard are all uniform.
