Since most brass was being used for the war effort for ammunition and equipment. Doors measure approximately 3 5/8" wide X 5" height#1 size. They have the original hinges and glass knobs and I would estimate them easily at over 100 years old. There are several old layers of paint on the doors both front and back, mostly green, grey and white as well as bare wood coming through. A great set of doors. This gorgeous armoire has beveled original glass mirrored double doors that lock with the original key. Everything is original-nothing is reproduction or replacement. A very rare find and nearly impossible to find this exceptional quality and condition in Birdseye Maple! This piece is very large and will need a large room with tall ceilings in order to accommodate! Assembled with meticulous pegged construction. Beautiful birdseye textures and floral carvings; inside are 3 adjustable shelves with many variations available with the built in bracket racks. A very solid and sturdy piece- very little wear to the finish for its age and being birdseye maple! Have yourself a huge piece of US history! This 63 door unit measures 43.5 inches tall by 32.75 wide and at the top is 8.75 inches deep and the bottom for the bigger boxes is 13 inches deep. I am unsure of the age of this mail box unit. All doors say U S on them. Have 2 dials with letters, no numbers, for combinations. The front of all of the doors also say PATENT, but no year. This is 100% original! 40 of the small doors all have Beveled glass windows in them measuring about 2.5 x.5 inches, the other 14 small doors are missing the glass. 3 of the 6 medium size doors have beveled glass windows measuring 2 x 2.5. The other 3 are missing their windows. Two of the 3 largest boxes on the bottom of the unit have beveled glass windows measuring 3.75 x 2.5. Assortment of Front and Back Doors For Clocks
Up for bid is a lot of four different mantel clock back doors and one front door. The front door on the top left is finished in mahogany and measures 9 1/16" for length and width. The back door to the top right is a black mantel clock back door that measures 6 1/8" wide with the hinge. 6" wide without the hinge, and 7 1/8" tall. This back door comes with the screws. The door to the bottom left is a mahogany clock back door that measures 5 7/16" wide, and 6" tall. The one to the bottom middle is a Sessions Clock Co. back door that measures 6 3/4" wide, and 7 7/8" tall. The last clock door to the bottom right is oak mantel clock back door.
