Most any brass catch would work for this. The large handle is solid brass and the thumb latch spring feels good for reuse. This set comes with two latches. One for the doorknob handle set latch and the other for the secondary locking latch. Most of the brass will clean up some as well. This is a standard 2 3/8 inch offset although it was taken off an exterior entrance door. There is no key although any locksmith could make one for this lockset. A nice addition for a vintage renovation. Vintage quality at a fraction of the cost with a low start. Up for auction is this Lot of 10 Antique Mortise Iron Locks. Mortise locks are the smaller type that were used in dresser drawers. Cabinets or desks. Also included are three old barrel keys that fit all of the locks. As depicted in my photographs, you can see where I was able to lock and unlock all locks, but one, which appears to be stuck. It can probably be oiled or sprayed with WD40 to get it to work. All locks have rust and need to be cleaned or lubricated. Lock faces have a brass finish. There are a few different sizes. Antique/Vintage RHCO Mortise Lock with Brass and Porcelain knobs and reading lock. This lock set was on my door when I bought my house but when I replaced the door I had to go with a modern lock. I can not find the key to the reading lock. This set will look really good when cleaned. The plates could use a new coat of antique gold paint. The brass ring under the porcelain knob I do not believe was original but am selling it with the set. As you can see from my photos the brass does have some light scratches and light dents. It does need 1 set screw and a screw for the plate. The lock moves freely when turning the knob The porcelain does have cosmetic wear. The ornate oval brass knob is in mint condition. The plate under the ornate knob measures 10 1/2"x3" The plate under the porcelain knob measures about 8"x 2 1/2" The ... moremortise measures 4 3/8" long x 3 1/4" wide x 5/8" deep. I do have 3 more of these sets listed plus I have the matching offset hinges listed. Antique Vintage Door Hardware Russwin Mortise Lock with brass knobs & keys 1909

Russwin Mortise lock has a face plate of 1 ¼” wide x 8' tall. 3 7/8' deep. Comes with Three tested and functional keys and 4 brass screws. I tested the keys and the push buttons of the lock multiple times to insure fit and function. This is a 1909 working antique lock, not a newer made in China version. It has pat. Dates on it of Jan. 3. 1907. Aug. 31. 1909, and Oct. 26. 1909 The beautiful door knob goes on the inside and turns to open the door whether it is looked or unlocked. No key is needed for the inside. The brass ring goes on the outside of the door to pull it shut(the ring does pivot to hang down) The door unlocks with the key. Using the push buttons on the face you can have the door open only ... moreby turning the key or by turning the ring. One push button locks the turning of the ring and the other push button would unlock it. The key cylinder is adjustable to fit the thickness of the door. This is steel and solid brass and is a very heavy lock. The keys say Russwin. Made in the USA. I showed a picture of how the door knob goes thru the door. The shaft unscrews near the middle of it. The part that the ring goes on looks like it has to be cut to length once the thickness of the door is determined.
