It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass mortise cylinder with a brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel spindle with a setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs, and 12 installation screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door and jamb. All brass parts are solid. Brass, not plated steel. Except for the escutcheons which are stamped(pressed) brass, all brass parts are heavy, thick, cast brass. Originally, all parts were copper plated, however, only traces of copper remain. At the point of salvage. All parts were dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. All parts have some cosmetic blemishes including nicks and scratches. Which are best conveyed by the photos. However, these just add a distressed charm to the parts and do not pose any threat to the structural integrity of the parts. All parts are strong, sturdy, and ready to serve another lifetime. Lock: The mortise lock is reversible and could accommodate a right or left swinging door. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who could rekey it for under $20. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. The mortise lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed WD40 on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. The lock operates smoothly. exact item shown- from a long closed locksmith business- much of the trim is unused- the handle. Escutcheon and striker plate/trim packages are bronze colored, one interior escutcheon is stainless steel. Command Access ML80 Electrified Mortise Lock Fail Secure, 24 Volt
Up for sale is a Command Access ML80 electrified mortise lock EU fail secure. 24 Volts@350MA. This was installed to replace a bad lock, however the lock was not bad. The factory wire harness with the diode was the problem not the lock. The new lock was removed and the old one was reinstalled. Now I have this almost new lock with out female wire plug. Set of 3 Old Vintage Brass Bronze Bank Corbin Mortise Lock Sets Plates Knob Lot
These were salvaged off of a bank building in Baltimore.Md. back in the 1960's. Unfortunately the original owner could not recall which bank it was. The set in the middle takes a regular skeleton key while the 2 sets on either side have a cylinder type lock both of which are marked Corbin. The backing plates are also marked Corbin with the numbers 7788 or 3 and a 0 3X81 it looks like. The backing plate of the one in the center also marked Corbin with the numbers 77831. These look to me to be bronze but could be brass. One of the ones with the cylinder lock is unlocked while the other is currently locked. The one in the center is unlocked but turns kind of crusty sounding if you know what I mean. This one also has a bent and very rusty knob shaft. The backing plates on the 2 with the cylinder locks measure about 8 1/2" X 3" for ... morethe exterior plate and the inner plate is about 7" X 2 3/4"with the lock itself measuring about 4 3/4" X about 3 3/4" The one in the center that takes the skeleton key measures about the same with the lock measuring about 3 5/8" X 3 1/4" I do NOT have any keys for these locks. Antique Fastenerless Mortise Lock w/Barrel Key* 4 Patent Dates from 1873 to 1885 Offered is a rarely found original Gory patented mortise lock with barrel key. This lock is unique in that it was patented to by used without screws or nails to attach to cabinets. Etc. There are 4 patent dates stamped on the back side as: April 22'73(1873) Aug 22'82(1882) July 17'83(1883) and Nov 24'85(1885) There is some minor metal staining found but mechanisms work well with the turning of the barrel key. Measures 4" long by 2 3/8" wide and 1/2" deep. Having a working key to a lock this old is rare and nice! This was the lock that was under patent infringement lawsuits in the 1890s by Duer vs Corbin. This is a set of 2 Barrows Inside Lock Sets with the same pattern with a Mortise Finish. One set has a key. The 2nd set does not but the same key works in both sets. The lock sets are in what I believe are their original boxes from which I am using to describe them and some original packing. I believe these sets have never been installed or used. Antique Vintage Victorian Mortise Cast Bronze Door Lock set 1800's deadbolt key
I purchased this for my Victorian home about ten years ago. I moved out long ago and this was never installed in my house. It is from The Brass Knob Architectural Antique store in Washington DC. It still has price stickers on most pieces. I pieced together a full set that I thought was gorgeous and went together well. It also works. I guarantee it or your money back. Two doorknobs, one lockset to insert into the door, a lock in the lockset without a key and another Corbin lock with a vintage key, a door jamb plate with screws. You will only need screws to mount the antique faceplates. The door knobs are an identical set. I cannot find a name on them. The lockset has a lock in it, but there was no key, so I bought the ... moreCorbin lock with a key to have inserted. Everything is vintage except the piece you screw into the door jamb, that is shown in the plastic bag. Everything works. The deadbolt turns and moves well. There are two faceplates. One is 8 3/4 by 2 3/8 inches. The other one is 11 1/2 by 3 1/8 inches. The knobs are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The deadbolt thumb turner is 1 3/8 inches. The white painted plate is 1 3/16 wide and 7 15/16 long. The part of the lockset that gets inserted into the door is 3/4 inch wide. 5 1/2 inches tall, and just under 4 inches deep(including the thickness of the white painted plate) Each Knob has a six petal flower center. There are tiny flowers decorating the edges of the larger plate and some type of crest with tiny urns decorating the smaller faceplate. The larger faceplate is marked $55. The smaller one $65, the lockset $30, the knobs $110, and the Corbin lock and key and new door jamb plate are not marked. UP FOR AUCTION IS A CORBIN MORTISE DOOR LOCK IT HAS 2 KEY HOLES AND BUTTONS AND DEAD BOLT ON SIDE, The deadbolt is thrown by the lower keyhole from either side of the door. The split spindle allows the doorknobs to rotate independently and the buttons on the lock face provide an additional independent level of security(with or without the deadbolt) Pushing one button in keeps the outside doorknob from turning(the strike will not retract) You can still open the door by the interior doorknob. With the buttons in this position you can enter the house using a skeleton key in the upper keyhole. It retracts the strike and you would simply push the door open. Pushing the other button in allows both doorknobs to rotate so the door can be opened from either side. I do not have keys for the upper or lower keyhole function.
