Model- No 411(no markings on works) Case Construction- Porcelain Style- French. Condition- Porcelain case I would say is excellent for its age. Has a few minor age spots on the top and sides and all-over crazing as is common with porcelain this old but hardly noticeable. Clock crystal excellent most likely not original glass. Brass dial is very ornate& has a gorgeous warm patina. Back cover is not original but works just fine to keep the mechanics clean. Chime is a wonderful soft tone. Serial number 187,558. Note: Any reflections you see on the finish are just background and sun reflections and not wear. The mint 15 jewel Jaeger LeCoultre signed movement(528) has just been fully disassembled& cleaned. Adjusted and timed by me and is working very accurately, keeping great time. The bellows(dated'64) has just been checked and is in perfect working order. The round LeCoultre Swiss signed white painted dial, which has applied gold markers& numerals, is in mint condition as are the original gold hands. The rear bellows housing is in mint condition with no scratches, spotting, damage or cracks. The original 24k gold ... moreplated finish on the exterior is in perfect condition with no plating wear, scratches or notable damage whatsoever. There are no stress cracks on the base. All of the glass panels are clean with no chipping or scratches and the entire top, which is secured by two side pins, comes on and off without any problems. HELLO AND WELCOME TO OLD.VINTAGE.RETRO. On offer is a fantastic old SWISS MADE 8-DAY MANTEL CLOCK. Very stylish 1930's clock- very evocative of the art deco period. Fully working but it seems to be running fast. Probably needs servicing. The clock is set in a marble surround which has been finely inlaid with lapis lazuli. It stands approx 7cm high and has a width of approx 12cm. Most unusual as the winder is underneath the clock. There are a few small fleabites in the marble and one of the bases has a split in it- it still looks fine but should be easy to replace. The chrome around the clock face could do with re-chroming- it would make a superb restoration project. I doubt you will find a clock more stylish and evocative of the art deco period. Antique French Bayard Shelf Mantel Alarm Clock Running w/ Case
Shown here is a French alarm clock in running condition with original case. I believe it to be a Bayard because of it's design and the lion on the dial which is its signature trade mark. However the name is not found so it cannot be guaranteed. Prior to 1930. Bayard was known as Duverdrey& Bloquel. So this clock was manufactured post 1930. Brass case has been polished too much and lost some of its finish. Dimensions are 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. Outer case is worn and white satin is in pretty rough shape. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique fireplace mantle. This piece has great character and dates to the Victorian era. This piece measures 82" High x 60 3/16" at the widest point and it has a depth of 10.5" The mantle back has the main center mirror flanked by two smaller mirrors with shelves on the sides. The front of the mirror has turned& reeded columns holding a shelf above it. There are attached cornice pieces above the two smaller mirrored sections that are topped with a stick& ball design. This same design is also found on the crest at the top center of the mantle. There are hand carved medallions and curliques on this piece as well. This is a gorgeous mantle that will definately make a statement in a room. There are age and use appropriate scratches. Dings, divets, cracks, repairs, and ... moreother marks on this piece. The god of Longevity(with his high forehead) riding his trademark deer(also a symbol of longevity) Each piece is 11" tall and 8.5" at their longest. Each weighs approx. 3 lbs. The deer has a string rein in its mouth with Shou-lao have a loop in his hand for it to go through. On one figure the hand has been broken. There's a repair as the wrist but the hand is missing. The rein-as in my photos, still fits around the arm. I cannot find any markings on the statues. I believe they are hand crafted. I purchased these at an estate auction and am uncertain of their exact age.
