I have removed the movement from the case. Cleaned the clock movement in an ultrasonic bath, oiled the movement and springs with high quality clock oil, and adjusted the chime. The clock was allowed to run for 5 days and ran and chimed great. The Westminster tune plays out at the 15 minute interval as designed. I also removed the rear door, and bezel. The case was cleaned of years of dirt and debris with a mild cleaner, waxed with a quality carnauba wax and buffed to a great shine. The brass bezel was also cleaned and polished to a great shine. Antique Sessions Tambour Mantel Clock This is a GREAT example of a Sessions Tambour Mantle Clock in excellent condition. The beautiful dial is porcelain with black numbers and is in great condition with made in USA(see pictures) and is original to the clock! The solid brass bezel(metal around the dial) is original and in great condition. As are the hands, movement(which is made by The Sessions Clock Company and is signed on the front) Gears, and parts. The screws holding the movement in place are tight with no extra screw holes, see picture) the cathedral gong and hammer are original, the back door is also original and still has its knob and catch. It comes with a Sessions pendulum and a heavy duty double ended key, one end to wind the clock and the other to set the clock for slow and fast. This clock is a tambour"Preston" model ... moreand was made in circa 1920. It has a SIGNED"Sessions Clock Co. 8 day time and strike movement which strikes the hours and the half-hours on a beautiful sounding cathedral gong(for the hours) and a cup bell(for the half-hour) The movement runs perfectly and keeps accurate time. The movement was just cleaned. Oiled, and any repairs needed were professionally done. This service will save you money since you will not have to do this for several years. I recommend having it oiled every few years to keep it in tip-top shape. The case is beautiful in its simple. Classic design with its mahogany finish. It has very few flaws for its age. The dial has a special place where you can set the time to slow and fast using the small end of the key– near the number 12. This way you don’t need to take the clock down off the mantle in order to make fine adjustments to the movement as to slow and fast. It also still has its original wood feet. 1994 Cherry Wood Mantle Clock(battery operated) by the Bombay Company Inc. This clock is cherry wood finish. It has 4 detailed columns and brass colored feet. It has a pendulum. I have seen this model sold without a pendulum. It has a 5 inch clock face(that is round) with gold trim. Roman numerals, and detailed decorative black hands, and a gold colored second hand. There are no cracks in the glass or damage. The clock uses two AA batteries. It is approx. 14.75" tall x 10.75" wide x 6" deep. The back right corner has some scratches. I took a picture, and it looks better in real life than the picture shows. Also, currently this clock is decorative only. One of my daughters removed the pendulum and I don't know how to reattach it. I've been told that it is an easy problem to fix, but I don't know anything about clocks ... moreand really need to make more room in my house. It's beautiful just as a knick knack, but should be simple enough to fix if you bring it to someone. I saw this same clock being sold"As is" Not running) but they claim it may only need a battery. The clock sits on round columns and the base sits on 4 gold feet. The face of the clock has the black minute and second hands and has Roman numerals. The face is not marked. It is Japanese movement. The back of the face of the clock has a battery compartment. It is not running but may just need a battery. Since I know nothing about the clock, I am selling it"as is" as not running. It has a 6" pendilum and I'm not sure where it hangs. It has a 3/4" scratch on the wood in back. Overall, it is a beautiful clock and the pics just do not do it justice. The solid brass around the dial is a correct replacement(the only part of this clock that is not original) and looks and works like new with a great antique patina. The hands are original. The clock measures 11 ¼ inches high. 5 ½ inches deep and 10 inches wide. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. ANTIQUE 1930's SETH THOMAS MANTEL CLOCK The Dial& strike clock is in excellent condition cosmetically for its age. Its adamantine finish has no separation or chips. The 89 AD movement will run for a few minutes and then stop. It will need adjusting for it to run properly. It will strike on the hour and half hour when advanced. The clock is 11.5" x 10.75" x 5.75" and has a 5 ½” bezel. A pendulum and key as well as insurance is included in the shipping price. The mantel is embellished with finely-carved. Victorian style details such as chamfered edges around the opening; round bulls-eye style motifs carved on the ends of the crown/crest; small, lovely columns, which look like miniature, Eastlake style porch posts. Notice the wing-like piece underlying the shelf, like the eave on a Victorian home-what a wonderful accent! Along the back wall of the space in between the shelves, there is a series of 5 recessed(flat) panels. Restoration: At the point of salvage.
