I bought this piece about 5 or 6 years ago. Has a great checkered design in the triangle pediment area- the green paint is creak. Nice crackled finish. The top of the peak is unpainted- it must have been covered as the green paint was NEVER applied to the piece. The bottom edge needs to be trimmed- it has some soft spots on it- I tried to capture this in the pictures. I would estimate about 1 to 1.5" needs to be trimmed on the bottom edge for a smooth. Even edge. Measures 108.5" long is 39" at peak& 8.5" deep. Old square nails are studding the backside also. Has metal flashing on top edge. Wonderful size for headboard- over a door way or mantle- could also be re-used for a functional purpose to dress up a home or barn! Will need to send with our delivery service- $200-300. This is a fantastic clock. There is patina on the brass and the dial has suffered some corrosion which has leached through the enamel. The hands are a little rusty and the minute hand fits a little loose around the shaft. But it keeps perfect time and sounds nice and mellow when is strikes. Antique 1920 Miniature 8-Day German Shelf/Mantel Clock Running
For auction is an Antique 8-Day German Miniature Shelf Clock. I am reducing my collection and have owned this clock for 35 years. This is a cute little miniature clock with measurements approximately 11 1/2" high X 6 1/4" wide X 3 1/2" deep. The case is oak. There are a few minor scratches. Nicks, or dry splits on case as to be expected with a clock perhaps made about 1920. The case is attractive and the finish is good. The top glass is convex and the lower glass is beveled. Both glasses are good. There is a small dent on the silvered dial between 11& 12 and some erasing of the minute track on left side. Still the dial is attractive and original. The brass pendulum is original and nice. The movement is an 8-Day without makers name. The movement runs good. It has been ultrasonically cleaned and lubricated. I am selling this for an elderly woman who is liquidating some her possessions so please view all photos and ask any questions you may have prior to bidding so this sale goes without a hitch. Up until a few years back the owner had this clock kept up(cleaned and serviced) but has since sat idle. Both keyways operate smoothly and I was able to get it running for a few hours at a time with the gong operating properly on the hour and half hour. Some cleaning and adjusting should get it running like a champ! Physically the clock is quite clean and complete with the exception being the woman's late husband replacing one of the rear feet with a wooden one he made(see last pic) These original feet are easily and cheaply replaceable if you so desire. Or you can make do with the way it is since it's located at the back and no one will notice ... moreanyway. A working key and pendulum(see pic) are also included. Coleman Lantern 249 Scout Kerosene Single Mantel 1948
Up for sale is a coleman lantern model number 249 SCOUT. Its dated 3 of 48. The vent does have some chips, the nickel on the tank could use some polishing, no major damage to the tank, the burner frame is clean. There is some surface rust on the bottom of the tank. It does run good, but could probably use a tune up. I did put a new cap gasket on it. Nice red letter globe. Check out the pics. Comes with key but it is losing its shine. Looks like it is missing one label off the back door. The Minute hand is broken at the tip and needs to be replaced. Used condition with patina. A few nicks and wear marks here and there and the veneer is puckering in spots. NOT perfect! Vintage Franz Hermle (FHS) Inlaid Rosewood French Louis XV Style Mantel Clock
Offered is a Louis XV style Inlaid Rosewood Marquetry Bronze Mounted Mantel Clock. Clock is near mint with excellent original patina and finish. A tiny bit of rust on back door hardware and some tarnish on back of pendulum. Movement is numbered 151-080 and signed FHS for Franz Hermle& Sons. Date code located above the FHS is 74 indicating year of manufacture. 1974. Clock has a nice two bell chime striking on the hours and half hours. Fast/ slow adjustment is done by shortening on lengthening the pendulum with the adjuster nut on bottom of pendulum. Please look at the pictures to see the beautiful detail of this large clock. Height is 23" maximum width at base is a little over 12" and 6" deep. Original key and pendulum included. Note: Clock is running and chiming correctly but I have only tested for a few days. Ok your Virginian picker has been busy and I have been able to bring back some cool stuff. But this my friends takes the cake. This 19th century Antique Ansonia NY Mantel Clock comes with the key it has a porcelain face and an amazing face border and hands that are made of what looks to be gold. I did a ton of research on this clock, these clocks there were a few that were popular models so you see a few of them around, this clock you simply will not find another one and it is because it was such a rare made clock. People could order gold on these clocks back in the day but most of the people just went for a lower end model. I did not acid test the gold so i simply cannot guarentee that it is gold, but from my research and finding other articles on these I can tell you that I would pretty much bet the farm that it is. But I am cautioning ... moreyou and telling you not to bid on this because of its gold content for that very reason. You have to think though. What other metal does not tarnish and looks like this? That is right NOTHING only gold looks like this through the years. All I know is that the ones that I saw for example that were made of gold were $4,000 clocks. I am going to allow you to decide what it is worth. What i can tell you is that it keeps good time and winds well. It is just amazing to sit and watch this thing in action it is flat out amazing. Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on a very nice quality antique mantel or table clock from somewhere around the early 1900s. It has a Swiss movement. Which is marked on it, with a platform, lever escapement and permanent winding key. It is running perfectly, keeping very good time, and runs to the full length of its wind, which is eight days. I has a matt, silver coloured metal dial with black numerals, and blued steel hands. The dial has on it'8 days' and'Swiss Made' There is a circular scratch mark on the dial between 12 and 3 where at some time in the past, the hour hand has rubbed the dial. The hour hand now runs clear of the dial. It has a brass bezel and a flat glass- the glass has a couple of minor chips on the edge at the bottom. The movement is hidden from view and kept free from dust ... moreby a push on brass backplate, this being removed for winding and hand setting. The case, which is solid mahogany, is screwed onto a mahogany plinth, this in turn sitting on four brass bun feet. The front face of the case is superbly inlaid, making this a very attractive clock indeed. The condition of the case is very good with a nice, polished finish. There are a few very minor bruises and scratches on the case commensurate with age, and some deterioration/marking of the finish on the rear of the case- I have tried to show everything in the photos. This is a French time only movement from a porcelain mantle clock. Included is the movement. Dial with porcelain ring, hands w/nut, original pendulum, mounting brackets, screws, front beveled glass door& back brass door along with the key.
