This Auction is for a case of ten(10) of these light fixtures. I acquired them from an electric company that was opened in the early 1940s to help construct Oak Ridge Tennessee. These were used in the government housing. And also at Norris, a TVA village nearby. I will open and inspect all units before shipping. I do not guarantee the condition of the box- they are old and many of them are literally falling apart. They have been stored dry though, and all units are in as new condition, never been hung. Pair of Vintage Milk Glass Skyscraper Light Fixtures!!
Up for sale in this auction is a pair of two vintage. Milk glass skyscraper light fixtures. Each milk glass shade is approximately 7" long and approximately 7 1/2" across. The opening where the metal fixtures attach to the shades is approximately 4" across. Each metal fixture is approximately 20" long with 7 chain links and the part that attaches to the ceiling is approximately 5 1/2" across and the part which attaches to the milk glass shade is approximately 4 1/4" across. Both shades are in really nice condition and are not cracked or broken. The edges of the globes where the metal attaches is a bit rough and would be expected in a glass piece of this age. There may be a tiny scratch here or there and the shades could be cleaned better, but they are really great. The metal pieces which attach to the shades ... moreneed rewired, but I believe they are all there. All I have done is wipe off some of the surface dust. There is some rusting from some sort of water damage and also some paint loss and paint splatters. It might be necessary to sand and repaint these pieces. I hope you can see the condition from the pictures I have taken. The woman I bought these from said she bought them from a church sale in Colorado Springs where they had been removed and were for sale at a church fund raiser. Pair of antique wall fixtures/sconces. They are metal with a silver plating. Could be either silver or nickel plated. Not sure but there are some scratches that look like it scratched off the plating and whatever the coating is has tarnished. One of them still has the socket attached. The wires are cloth coated. I want to clarify that the arms on these sconces are absolutely 1920's over the top gorgeous original wall lamp arms. Someone has saved these beautiful arms and added the backers and frosted wheel cut glass globes. These are not 100% antique. They did a wonderful job and nothing looks muddled or forced. Each Chain is 2' in length. Each Fixture has a ceramic bulb holder. Condition Issues: Some of the black paint finish is missing at the top of each socket cover. Also. Some missing paint where the chain meets the hanging ring. 1 metal tab, which holds the glass panel, is missing at the bottom of one fixture. Very minor rust in spots. The Glass Panels are textured Amber Glass with relief on the outside and smoothe on the inside. The Glass Panels measure 7 and 5/8" X 5 and 3/4" 2 Glass Panels are missing on one fixture. UP FOR AUCTION IS: 2 Vintage Industrial 1940s Screw On Holophane Aisle Glass Light Shades and Flush Mount Fixtures 10" Diameter One Piece Enclosed Glass Shade- Original 2 Piece Screw on Porcelain 250V 660W Light Sockets- ITEM DESCRIPTION- Both of these industrial vintage 1940s screw on Holophane Aisle light fixtures are in very good condition for their age. These reflective screw on light fixtures are very rare and even harder to find with the mounting hardware. There are two very tiny chips on each of the shades pictured below with no other chips. Cracks, or discoloration. The chips are minor and unnoticeable. A little paint overspray on one and it can be removed if desired. The porcelain 2 piece sockets are in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. Both fixtures show signs of wear from use and age but nothing really worth mentioning ... moreconsidering they are about 70 years old. These are very versatile because they connect directly to a regular metal 4" octagon electric junction box and are very easy to wire. The mounting screw holes are 3 1/2" apart. I actually have a total of 6 fixtures(I have 2 other pair) so if you are interested in more please let me know. These can be flush mounted to a octagon box(the one shown below is not included) in a home or work shop with a low ceiling or you could run iron pipe or conduit(or conduit inside the iron pipe) down from the ceiling to the octagon box, extending the fixture for higher ceilings. The glass on this pair is in the best condition out of all the fixtures I have left. The black and red Holophane sticker is gone on both mounting fixtures being sold here but I am including a photo below of one that has already been sold and it shows a partial Holophane sticker so you can tell these are truly genuine Holophane. This is an opportunity to get a pair of gorgeous vintage BRASS Victorian Wall Sconce Light Fixtures. Beautifully sculpted with ornate detailing. They were removed from a home that was built in the late 1800's. I have reason to believe these lights were original to the home- making them well over 115 years old! Measures 16 34" tall and 10 3/4" wide. They stick out 4 3/4" from the wall. They are in very good antique condition- I find no cracks. Chips or dents. I wiped them off, but they could use a little better cleaning. I pretty much left them as I found them in order not to disturb the nice natural patina they have acquired from age.
