Unusual Antique Brass Twist Latch, Lock, For Cupboard, Cabinet, Doors
You are bidding on an early cupboard. Cabinet, or door twist latch lock. It is made out of brass. It is quite heavy. It measures about 2 7/8" x 2 1/2" and 2 1/2" high(from top of twist handle to where it would sit flush with door) It is in very good working condition. I see no makers names. I dont have the catch for this latch. This latch has a nice looking old patina. I am not sure of the age of this latch. This latch is in very good condition. Check the pictures carefully and enlarge to get all the details. I sell and ship only to the United States. No exceptions. Antique Victor Blue Velvet Portrait Photograph Book Album w/ Metal Latch
Up for your consideration is the Antique 1880’s Blue Velvet Portrait Photograph Book Album with working metal latch. The velvet photo album has 15 double sided pages. With three of the pages designed to hold four glass/ tin type photos. It measures 10 ½” long x 8 ½” wide and 3” deep. There are no photographs within the album. I have not restored this piece and has come from an estate sale. As for its condition. The vintage blue velvet does show some handling and shelf ware to its lower corners. A portion of the binding has come loose and is need of being re-tact. Many of the pages are in very good condition with only a couple of them either torn or damaged. The pages do have a natural yellowing/ aging to them. The pages are trimmed with a gold flashing. Basement, and various house doors. The latch was cast in the late 1800's to the early 1900's from cast iron. All the latch parts are included. Antique Steamer Trunk Flat Top 5 Latch painted metal
Antique flat top Trunk- Metal. Painted black with leather handles. There is one latch in the middle with a key hole. But I do not have the key and there are 2 buckle type latches(they work well) at either end and then also 2 slide in latches(they also work well) There are 3 hinges on the back side of the lid and they show some rust, but still function well. There has been some shelf or contact paper applied to part of the interior, but it is all loose and should come off easily. The bottom of the trunk is definitely in need of some TLC. I did not attempt any restoration, just wiped with a dry rag to remove loose dirt and dust. Other than the outside bottom of the trunk it is fairly good condition. Ready for its next home whether you decide to restore or leave as is. Very nice original hand wrought Suffolk thumb latch with very typical bean shaped cusps. A handle this size would have been comfortable on just about any door in the house. Good condition overall with wear from use and age. But no broken or cracked pieces. The iron is rusted and has an age darkened patina. The handle measures 8 1/4" in total height with a handle opening of 4 1/4" Across the upper cusp the handle measures 2" wide. Can be used on a door up to 1 1/4" thick. Very rare collectors item. Combined Lock& Latch US Patent item patented by L.awrence Van Alstyne of Sharon Connecticut October 6. 1885. The full description shown in the last photos was obtained from US Patents online based on researching patent number 327,624 as documented on the attached tags. I do not know anything about the operation or whether it still operates as intended. I did insert the attched key and it did not turn but I did not put much pressure to try to turn it. I see that the screws on one side holding the key plate have been loosened but I did not want to tamper with this item on any way. Very solid block of wood/item. The attached key has patent stamped up top, dated May 4, 69" Tags are in good condition with some soiling. Vintage Wicker Creel with Patent Number Stamped on the Latch ~ 18" wide
Offering this vintage wicker creel with a patent number stamped onto the latch. Measuring 18”wide. 8” tall and about 8” front to back the wicker is in wonderful overall condition. As mentioned the most intriguing feature on this creel is the patent number which is stamped onto the latch in black ink. There is a chip right through the middle of the stamp so the full number is unknown to me, 208-564 is all that is legible. The lid opens, closes and latches perfectly. The great condition of this creel makes this a fun one to represent. Right out of a recent estate and offered with no reserve have some fun with this one.

1915 Embossed Cast Iron Handle Antique Lever Steampunk Vintage Steel Gate Latch
I have a very cool antique door catch. This thing is in super patinaed condition. Where are you going to find another one of these with all of the original hardware still intact? Everything works great. The handle is 5 inches long and the whole mechanism measures six inches. Someone long ago had the foresight to save this from certain disposal hell. This would make an ideal swing gate mechanism or lift top lock.
