This antique weight circa late 1800's retains a old black paint and the original large 2 inch diameter hook ring. The top has a pyramidal 5 five step ridged design. The condition is very good with no damage. This weight measures 5 inches tall including the top ring. The base is 3 by 2 and 3/4 with the top measuring 2 and 1/2 by 2 and 1/2 inches. Antique wrought iron from prestigious New York City building! This is an extremely rare find! This antique wrought iron fence is from a renown New York City building erected in the late 1800's. The historical building still stands which was protected for over a century by this beautiful tall fence. The fence is 6 1/2 ft. tall and is all hand banded and turned the original way. The iron was well maintained with top grade protective paint. There is no rotting. Even on the bottom of the verticals. The finials are also surprisingly intact with very few, if any breaks. There are 6 posts which have ornate cast iron finials. These are used on either side of the two pairs of gates available with this lot. Each set of gates is 10 ft. wide. The posts are approximately 7 ft. tall and may need extending at the bottom depending on your installation. ... moreFour posts in this lot are for the driveway gates. There is a third set included to use with a walk way opening or gate. There is not a walkway gate included, but one can be fabricated from one of the smaller fence sections. The fence can be mounted with newly fabricated posts without taking away from the integrity of the Olde design. The distance between the verticals ranges from 4.75 in. to 5.25 in. If you would like the fence cleaned up sandblasting and painting will make it look like new but with the olde world quality craftsmanship! This topper weighs almost 8 pounds and is 9" tall x 7" wide(nose to mane) The bottom that attches to the fence or post is flanged. The detail is all surprising intact. Sandblasting will make this piece look amazing. Any rust is surface rust. Solid and Heavy! This auction is for 3 sections of fence. One section is 7 foot long and 30" high The middle arbor/gateway section is 6 feet 8 inches The third section is 7 foot 7 inches long and 30" high In all approximately 21 feet. This can be constructed in several configurations. In the first picture I posted it shows the arbor/gateway in the middle of the two straight railings. This is a large lot of antique wrought iron fence with ornate detail. This is from the civil war era. It is in rought but restorable condition. The finials are mostly. If not all there, the fence has an overall rusty pitted patina. The iron is light gauge as was typical of the era. There are some bottom rails that are rotted and some repairable bends These are replaceable without ruining the authenticy of the design.This can be sandblasted and painted.
