It is a shabby chic style in that it has had many layers of paint over the years and after I gave it a coat of white paint. I distressed it to give it a time worn appearance to enhance it's shabby character. It has a curved backsplash, the paint finish is by hand and has brush strokes as with the older painted surfaces. If you are into perfection, this is not for you as it is worn, used and shabby chic. It has two dove tailed drawers and long thin turned legs and new glass knobs on the two drawers. Antique Vintage Clear Cut Glass Cabinet Knobs Set of 8 with latch mechanism.
These are not your run-of-the-mill average cabinet knobs. There are 7 compete sets and 1 incomplete set. 1 set is not complete because it is missing the spring that goes inside the tubular mechanism. These are all vintage/antique knobs. All knobs are matching and have 6 sides. The top of the glass knobs have been finely made and cut/polished to a shinny flat surface. Deep down inside the center of the glass knob is a silvery colored back plate. I don't know what it is actually made of. The glass knob is set in brass and has an oval brass backplate. It comes with the tubular latch mechanism. I took a picture of the parts of the tubular mechanism to show what the parts entail. The glass knob measures 7/8" wide. It is 7/8" deep from the top of the glass knob to(and including the brass back plate) The glass knobs are all in very ... moregood condition with no cracks. Chips or major scratches. The glass knobs are shinny and show very little wear except for the tarnished brass parts and the silvery plate at the bottom of the glass knob. See pictures. Antique Wood Wall Hanging Shelf. Cabinet, has 4 small Drawers, It's a amazing piece, Not a reproduction, For sizes please see pictures. The weight is 21lbs, The measurement are approx. The Color is Slate Blue and Light Blue, The Knobs are not the knobs that it was made with. It had only 3 knobs left. I removed them and they were some kind of wooden knobs that were held by wooden dowels, The 3 old wooden knobs will go with it. I replaced the knobs with Vintage Glass and Brass ones, The drawers are all a little different sizes. Knobs are not centered, but that's how it was made, I'm thinking it's from 1900's. MIX LOT OF 6 VINTAGE ANTIQUE GLASS DOOR KNOBS NICE LOOK
You are bidding on a MIX LOT OF 6(SIX) VINTAGE ANTIQUE GLASS DOOR KNOBS. I'm not sure what the age is on these. The knobs measure approximately 1 3/4” to 2 7/16” wide. The knob in front of the quarter has a base that is magnetic while the others are none magnetic possibly brass or bronze. The two that are paired up have their set screws that turn freely and tighten. There appear to be no cracks on the knobs but there are some small scratches and some scuffs. There is one very small chip on one of the knobs pictured furthest right. I did not try and clean them. I’ll leave the cleaning to the professionals. Nice patina! They have wonderful mercury mirrored centres and are incredibly tactile. They come complete with the original grub screws and connecting bar. These are more suited to mortise locks. The chrome plated shanks have been cleaned and given a moderate polish so they don't gleam like repros. They have a brass base which is just peeking through in places. I purchased these 2 antique door lock units at an estate sale and I know nothing about these things. So what you see you get. One has"Penn" stamped on it, and appears to be in used condition, whereas the other unit looks like new-old stock. All have glass knobs. One of the knobs has a chip off of it, but the other 3 look OK. Both locks have the keys. The brass plates where in the same box lot, so I'll include them with these, although I don't know if they came with these originally. They look like they'll fit. Winning bidder pays shipping. Threaded spindles, back plates, mortise locksets, strike plates, and a fair amount of brass screws in a few different sizes and shapes. They only thing not included in this collection are the Skeleton Keys for the locksets. As with most antique hardware and knobs, these pieces have old white paint on them.some just a spot or two, others a a full brush stoke. The paint is easy to remove from the knobs and the face plates. There are a total of 23 antique clear glass door knobs and a single old hollow metal door knob. I was able to assemble 7 complete door knob sets. One set has been finished in chrome on one side and has matching hardware(a strike plate. Latch and rosette face plate, all in silver with silver screws) Two of the connector loops on the actual latch mechanisms are bent and need repair or replacement. The door knob sets that I put together include the following parts: 2 glass door knobs( 2 of the door knobs are missing one brass tightening screw each) a threaded spindle with latch mechanism in the middle a door latch a strike plate to match 2 brass rosette face plates for the knobs 8 screws. 4 rounded smaller ones for the rosettes& 4 flat top brass screws for the latch and strike plates There is a large door knob and lockset that I pieced together– I am not sure if I put it together right.
