Antique door hinges made by"Stanley Works" of New Britain, CT during the first quarter of the previous century. Each hinge is made of solid, heavy, thick steel. The hinges were originally brass plated, but most of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. Also included with the hinges are all 24 of their original installation screws! The hinges were removed from an entry door that we salvaged from Northeastern Ohio. At the point of salvage. If the quantity above is 1, this indicates that 1 set sold. If you are planning on purchasing only 1 set. Email us after the auction and let us know which of the 2 sets you would like. Heavy-duty. Commercial-grade, door lockset made by, Lockwood, of Lockwood, CT sometime during the first half of the previous century. Each set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 bronze cylinder mortise with bronze anti-theft collar, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with a setscrew and securing pin to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid, heavy. Thick, cast bronze, not stamped ... morebronze or plated iron. Since these sets were used for commercial installation. They were designed to be strong and secure. The exterior knobs are permanently affixed to the spindles with a securing pin. Once the knobs are mounted on the escutcheons, the collars of the plate bar access to the pins. The only way you could access the pin is by removing the knob on the other side of the door. We found the cylinder mortises without keys. Without keys. We are uncertain if the cylinders work. COMPLETE ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS/BRONZE EXTERIOR LOCKSET The perfect finishing touch for a quality restoration. One nice feature is that this lock can be set from the two buttons on the faceplate which allow the door to be locked with a button. Thus eliminating the need to use a key when exiting the building. There was no key but these can easily be made by any locksmith. The finish could use a polish but there are no real problems. The faceplate has seen some use and is lightly scratched but is made of solid heavy brass and could be cleaned to appear as new. ***BEAUTIFUL*** ALDERWOOD SOLID WOOD EXTERIOR FRONT DOOR 96" X 36"
We have had this door for a couple of months and were going to do a project with it. We are just too busy to do anything with it so I'm selling it. It came off a very expensive. High end home here in Tulsa. It is SOLID so it's extremely heavy. It measures 96" tall and 36" wide. I would like to say I know what kind of wood it is but I don't. It has a lot of natural knots in it. Also, It will need a few holes filled in but other than that it is in very good condition. The pics that I have up are of the back. It was too heavy for me to move but the front is the exact same it just has the decorative hardware that I was able to take a pic of. It really is a stunning front door for anyone who needs a door of this size. The door is made of solid heart pine and has 1 beveled glass lite. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer. This is a vintage brass exterior door mortise set. It has 2 push buttons to allow the exterior knob to be locked and unlocked. The mortise appears to be in working condition. The brass plate measures 9" long and 1 1/4" wide. The mortise measures 6 3/4" long. 3 1/4" deep, and 3/4" wide. The square hole for the handle is 2 1/4" to the center from the plate and 1 1/2" to center from the top of mortise. The square hole is large, 1/2" from corner to corner.
