Description This is an exceptional fireplace mantel that was salvaged from a Victorian Brownstone in Brooklyn. NY. It is made of oak and was painted. 80% of the paint has been stripped off. The upper shelf has a serpentine shape and is supported by full length columns that are partially fluted with carved capitals. The top has it's original beveled mirror. There are 2 small carved corbels and a band of carving below the lower shelf. There are return moldings that wrapped around the chimney. It measures 65.5 inches wide by 84 inches tall. It is 15.5 inches deep including the returns and 12.25 without them. The firebox opening is 41.5 inches wide by 41.5 inches tall. Overall it is in good condition. As to appearance, needs some cleaning/shining up, mainly for some nooks and crannies dust in places. Minor spotty finish wear on the pendulum but otherwise very handsome including a scene at center of a steepled building, tree, etc. Face has yellowing varying from moderate to dark, minor spots of wear to the bezel and some dulling of the finish. End of minute hand is a little bent. Door glass is good(just needs some cleaning) with minor flecky wear to the design, best seen with a magnifying glass. There is some finish wear to the top of the base and some beadiness of the finish on the pressed design panels, nothing worth mentioning otherwise. Very handsome clock. For sale a pair of Kustom 150 Tuck& Roll speaker columns. Made in the USA. The serial numbers date them to 1971. Each column has four 8" speakers. The naugahyde is spotless and looks like new, I have kept up with it using AmorAll. All eight speakers are original and work perfectly. Able to handle 150 watts these cabinets have a rich warm tone. I have been using them through a Fender 60W Blues DeVille using a Power Y Box bought from The Power Y Box. Two 15' speakers cables and a 3' connector cable will be included. The columns measure 48" tall, 15" wide and 12" deep. Overall very nices peices to be added to any vinatge collection or ready to be played out on. The surround is complete except there is some sort of vertical piece that used to be between the transom and the columns/ door frame. This can be replicated by a skilled carpenter. Pair Vtg Custom Wood Ionic Style Columns w Faux Marble Painted Finish 7' 6" tall
These columns were custom built for a pair of ornate antique plaster capitals. The capitals were 2 different heights. So the columns were made accordingly and they are 7'4" and 7'6" Both capitals were destroyed in a remodel but one of the columns still has a lip for the capital at the top which sticks out an additional 1 3/4" from the column. Each has a column base of 10 1/2" in diameter. The column base is about 3 1/2" high and then begins tapering up They have a diameter of 5 3/4" at the top. They are not fluted but smooth finished. They were made to look vintage not new. They have a sort of a marbleized painted finish in goldish beige. There are a couple surface only cracks and some wear. Tree ring marks also show- see photo. This is a superb example of the New Hampshire side of the North Shore American furniture movement. It stands right out with masterfully turned columns. Graceful aprons on its front and sides, doublewave formed back gallery and original period pulls. This dresser has dovetailed pine plank base construction with lovely deeply chamfered pine drawer panels and back panels. Its finish is untouched and overall very nice. The case has cock bead molding around all its drawer openings. We received it less one brass rosette accouterment to the gallery. We are having that fabricated and you will ... moreget that as a condition of sale with this piece. We are processing several estates as fast as possible while we attend to servicing our customers with shipments pending. We are going flat out and have focused all our collective attentions on this division of our operation until it slows down some. We are experiencing an amazing influx of estates and amazing pieces of the likes of this stunning New England 18th Century Sheraton chest. This chest is most worthy of vetting as to its maker. We suspect one famed shop in particular but their works in maple and mahogany are better known and the medium of the construction of this chest. These aprons are almost a dead certain glaring clue. Settling that question with finality will force us to obtain research data at a Connecticut University which we do not have time to do right now. This is a very worthy piece and it is as nice as they come. In the meantime we will not be guessing despite our expertise in these matters. We note an old small restoration on one side of the gallery missing the rosette and possibly one drawer panel replaced with a chamfered oak panel. Antique End Table/Side Table. Dimensions: 30 inches tall 16 inches deep 20 inches wide Condition: Rough. Parts of the table are solid wood, and part are wood veneer. On the base there is a six inch section were the rope trim is gone. Some of the veneer on the drawer front is missing along the edges. Veneer on the left side is cracked and peeling. The left hand side of the bottom shelf veneer is cracked and starting to peel. Sometime during the years it was painted green and black. I don't think that was the original color. I am not sure what kind of wood it is made from. Despite all the condition issues it is still a sturdy table. I don't know if the carvings are done by hand or not. Columns are fluted and have tulip like carvings around the base. The tulip carvings only go half way around. Item will be professionally packed shipped ... moreand insured. The branches are removable and each of the 3 lights per branch have removable nozzles to enable easy cleaning of the spent wax. The candlesticks have square. Stepped bases with bead mounts. The fluted stems terminate in acanthus capitals and a nozzle.
