VINTAGE, CAST IRON, SHELF, BRACKETS, LOT of 8 pieces, MANY POSSIBILITIES, NICE
Vintage cast iron shelf brackets. 8 pieces. These mount to a pipe or wooden pole(vertical element) You then could use wooden shelves with some pieces of half round glued to the bottom to keep them in place. You could run a piece of pipe or round wood in the two depressions and use glass on top of that for the shelves. Or these could be used in a green house to hold water pipes with spray heads to water the beds of plants under them. They stick out 11 1/2 inches from the pipe. The two half moon cut outs are 7 inches center to center. they are 4 1/2 inches tall. Or use them to hang plants. Glad to answer any questions about this item.

Antique Rustic Cast Iron Shelf Brackets H8 White Paint (some flaking off)
You have the opportunity to own a pair of old cast iron shel f brack ets. The only cleaning that I have done is try to brush off the loose dirt and cobwebs. As I was doing that some of the old wh ite paint fell off and while I handled them to take pictures more of the paint flaked off. So be assure d that if you purch ase them there will be some paint chips in the shipping bo x. There are no repai rs or cracks. Just a lot of character. They are both marked H8. There is still plenty of rust on them. The part that would fit up against a wall is 18-1/2" and the part that would support a shelf board is about 10-1/2" I left some of the hardware on each and did not try to remove the bolts. What a great pair of 20" Standard A&O Works cast iron shelf brackets. The brackets measure out at 18.5" x 16" x 2" These brackets have very cool Art-Deco style/look to them with a shabby rough silver overtone to them. These are very nice with only one issue at all. These are getting increasingly hard to find in this condition, when you consider only a few Victorian homes had 2 or 3 of these you then can understand ... morewhy. Although these were originally used as handrail brackets they also can be used as a unique and interesting small shelf brackets. A friend of mine used ones similar to these for that in her bathroom and I must say they looked good. The circular attachment base is about 2 ¼” diameter and they would extend from the wall about 3 ¼” I also have a pair like these listed that don’t extend out quite as much. Circ. late 1800s– 1920s. I have 4 beautiful cast iron shelf brackets. I thought at first that they where all exactly the same measurement but there is a slight difference. After noticing that 2 of the leaves come right to the end and two are set back about 1/2" I measured each one, they are as follows. 1- 16" x 9" 1- 15 1/4" x 8 3/4" and 2 are 15 3/4" x 8 3/4" The pattern is the same just 1/4" to 1/2" difference on a few, hard to tell why or even notice with your eye. very nice pair of cast iron with black porcelain over shelf brackets. They are in good condition with only a few very small hard to find flea bites in the porcelain.They are complete with there original mounting hardware. The screws are not original to the brackets. I have added the piece of milk glass to complete the shelf. The milk glass is in fair condition it has a chip on one end that is slightly larger than a quarter. There are also a few small flea bite along the edge of the glass. The milk glass is smooth on one side and is textured on the other(the quarter sized chip is on the textured side. The sooth side has surface scratches and some light staining that come with age and normal use. The wood board is not included in this sale. Here is an amazing lot of 4 beautifully ornate cast iron shelf brackets that are each two pieces- they are reversible so you can fit them into the wall brackets both ways. I sell a lot of this kind of stuff and this lot of stuff is the best I have ever had. They and an 1886 patent date. The"smaller" still large) brackets are 16" x 8" and the larger brackets are 21" x 9" and the vertical pieces that screw to the wall are 24" long. they have multiple notches so you can adjust the shelf up and down- really great. It gets even better if you like provenance- these were screwed to a wall of a hardware store in the 1890s and just unscrewed from the same building this week. They are japanned black and then someone has painted gold over them. This look is actually pretty cool- mostly gold with black flecks showing ... morethrough. The look great as is or you could get them back to black with a little elbow grease. Or just repaint them the color you like. They are marked"A. W. Koch.
