These are made of 3/16" cast iron. They are 11" high where they attach to the wall and the shelf part will accept a 12" board. There are 3 holes for nailing or screws. They would make excellent outdoor tool hangers or garden hose hangers. They are heavy enough to hold just about anything.

Pair Antique Cast Iron Figural Boy Or Young Man Person Shelf Brackets
This is a very cool looking pair of antique cast iron figural shelf brackets. They are either a boy or a young man. They most likely date from the late 19th century or very early turn-of-the-century. I don't see any company mark on them. Each of them has some old white paint on the side that attaches to the wall. They have surface rust(one more than the other) but this doesn't affect their strength. One of the people has a shiny liquid-looking substance on the back neck. I don't know what it is. So I'm not sure of how to get it off. One of them has a small section on the top edge where there's a little bit of missing cast iron. But this is definitely from the original casting and doesn't affect their sturdiness. Together they weigh 5 lbs. 15 oz. 2.7 kg)

But one bracket has a curl broken off from each end( compare the brackets via the pictures to see the broken bracket) therefore I'm lowering the price $25.00. 21 inches on each of the two short sides. If you need to build a shelf for your elephant or bull dozer these are the brackets for you. 15 lbs apiece. Expensive but rare and these are the biggest I've ever been able to find. Measuring about 8½" at the back. And projecting about 7" from the wall, these two cast iron shelf brackets feature a geometric and floral pattern. These are well made and there are no cracks or imperfections in the casting that I can see. They have been wire brushed and sprayed with WD-40 but could use some more cleaning. Each cast iron piece weighs just about 2 1/2 lbs. There are no manufacturer’s marks or dates on either bracket. They are in“as found” condition with some faint remnants of old black paint. There are no cracks. Brakes, chips or repairs in the cast iron. These brackets would look absolutely fantastic with a thick glass shelf suspended between them and would also work with lengths of vintage glass rods at different ... moreintervals. Besides reusing these salvaged pieces for decorative purposes. They could also be used for hanging lengths of looped rope, leather, or even hanging buckets and baskets. There is a very shallow crease or line on one long arm of a bracket– a minor flaw which occurred during the manufacturing process. With the bracket mounted on the wall and the row of cutouts on top. The crease mark is just after the second bump from the end and on the bottom piece of iron. The picture that shows this has the bracket with the mounting plate flat on the table and the row of cutouts on the right going straight up and down. The flaw is near the top. Each bracket is 10 7/8” along the length of the mounting plate and is 2” wide at the bottom and 3 7/8” wide at the round top. The cutout double arms reach out 12 1/8” from the mounting plate and are 1 7/8” wide on the outside. Each of the rounded cutouts are 7/8” wide. There is a predrilled hole at the bottom of the mounting plate and two open ended holes at the rounded top– they will accommodate a 1/4” screw. They are large 20” x 15 ½” and could hold the heaviest of mantles or a barn wood shelf. These shelf brackets are original with a wonderful patina. These are great pieces for the industrial artist! They are marked. But I can not find any information about them, but I believe these are from the late 1800's just by looking at the style of them, they are heavy cast iron.
