19" Antique Ornate Cast Iron Heat Register Grate Wall Vent Radiator Cover Grill
Here is an antique cast iron wall register. Heat grate, or radiator cover. It is pretty. With an ornate grid pattern of stars or crosses mixed with zig zag lines. The top surface is 19 inches by 8 3/4 inches. The bottom is 18 x 7 1/2 inches. The opening is 17 1/2 by 7 1/8 inches. So if you are covering a radiator it would need to be smaller than that size. It is in very good used condition without any cracks. This old register is covered with white pain t. Some of the paint has chipped off around the edges. The default shipping method is US PS Parcel Post. But you can change that to Priority Mail if you would like the package to arrive sooner.

Antique cast iron grate. Register, vent or grill. Two piece, center turns and can be removed. About 16" in dia. Patent dates on back“Patented Dec 11, 1900—Dec 24, 1901” If you look very, very hard you’ll find two tiny legs of the larger pieces of scrollwork are missing. The areas missing the tiny pieces are covered in the same old paint as the surrounding area so it's not recent. The missing pieces may be a casting flaw and not damage. These spots are pointed out in the photo with the red arrows. Otherwise all the intricate lacey detail is fine; no cracks or damage. Some slight oxidation consistent with age on back side as shown in photos. All of our cast iron is CAREFULLY packed like any other breakable item.

This is a vintage large round cast iron outer register/vent grate. It originally has an insert in the middle that I do not have. It measures 15 3/4" across. The top band has a textured basket weave pattern and the inner band has pierced curved spokes. The black finish has and is flaking off and there is some surface rust in places that could easily be removed. I cannot find a makers mark on this piece. This great old piece has a lot of potential for any repurposing project you can think of. It is not from a pet/smoke free home. These came off a grate I rescued from an old burnt out home in Toledo Ohio's Old West End prior to being torn down a few years back. I wanted the grate for a project. The one end piece has a patent date of Dec. 22. 1885. Comes with all screws and the hard to find brass louver adjusting knob. The grate these came off measures 14 x 12. With a great coat of paint. The center of the face is unpainted and covered iwth a clear coat to prevent rust. The vent works great, the pivot is tight but moves easily.
