This is a very nice and unusual spider web design Victorian era arched top cast iron register or heat grate. It is complete with the louvers or dampers that function. It has a unique mechanism on front that is used to operate the louvers. It measures aprox. 11" x 14 1/2" and would fit an opening that is 9" wide x 12 1/2" high. It has been painted a couple of times as you can see, overall it is in good condition, no breaks or damage, the two bolts on bottom that hold the face plate to the damper are missing, we will try to find some bolts to replace them. This iron Grate cover approx measures are about 6" in width with an addition 1/4" on each side on top. The length is about 6 1/2 inches with an additional 3/4" on botton center which I believe was originally used to pull or lift the grate open. It is made of solid cast iron and comes to you with the original cast iron surround. Please be sure to see the other antique items we have listed. FEATURES: This lovely floor heat vent grille features a swirling vine and leaf design in the center. Surrounding this design is a triple-cross design with the center cross being upside down. The surround has two borders. In-between the borders is a delicate checkerboard pattern. This is a three-piece unit where the louvered part of the grate can be removed from the face-plate. There are four slotted screws that hold the two pieces together. However, only 2 of the screws are included. By removing the face plate from the louvers, it allows for easier ... morecleaning as well as sand blasting, if you want. In it's day, this was a gorgeous accent to any floor. The louvers work fine, however the entire unit does have quite a bit of surface rust. INCLUDED: The actual floor grate and surround pictured NOT-INCLUDED: No box. Packaging or paperwork. Two of the slotted mounting screws that hold the grate face-plate to the louvers is not included. However, it does come with two original screws. BRAND: Unbranded SIZE: The louvered register measures about 9-5/8" x 11-5/8" x 2" deep(with louvers closed) When the louvers are open. They add about 1" to the depth, making it about 3" deep. The surround/frame is about 13-3/8" x 15-5/16" x 3/8" thick. The opening in the floor needs to be at least 12-1/8" x 10-1/8" for the surround frame to lay flat on the floor. Rare 1800's Cast Iron Round. Louvered, Floor/Ceiling, Heat Register Round Louvered Open/Shut Compartment Fits a 7 inch Diameter Hole. Fancy Filigreed Floor Grate is 8 1/4 inch Diameter and Marked 7 Each Louver is Marked C. F. CO. and 7A. 7B, and 7C for placement You don't find these round heat registers every day. Especially in perfect working condition. The 3 louvered system is made for a 7 inch hole, and can be opened or shut with the grooved thumb control on the floor grate. The floor grate is 8 1/4 inches in diameter. The louver vents open and close easily, and the screws in the floor grate come out for cleaning the louver housing. This register has not been repainted and I only wiped it with some oil to clean out the cob webs. You can see a spot on the side of the louver housing where some floor paint or stain seeped on it. Sept. 7. 1875 Top of grate measures 9-1/2" The inset is 8" and 2-1/2" thick(with the louvers closed) Louvers work great and smooth. The top is in like new condition of it's age. Vintage Cast Iron Stove Pipe Floor/Wall Register Grate With 3 Parts Dubuque Ia
For your Consideration. Becoming quite collectible as of late I have a 3 piece Cast Iron floor grate here. The larger 1 of the 3 has a 13 5/8" diameter and says Manufactured by the Adams Co Patented Aug 31st 1897 Dubuque Iowa Design. The second larger one has a 15 1/2" diameter and the smallest one has a 13" diameter as far as I can tell these 3 pieces were designed to go together the cast iron is in nice condition will need to be sanded and repainted to your liking. This is a beautiful OLD cast iron floor grill that is rectangular in shape. The outside measurement of the cast iron grille measures 11 3/4" long by 8 3/4" wide. The grille needs a floor opening of 10" long by 7" wide. Very old.in very good condition. Has its louvers that work very well. Beautiful design that has no cracks. I'm sure restoration of this piece to a working hog waterer is possible, but it could also be repurposed ... moreas interior or garden wall decor. The rusty patina is attractive and I have left it as it was found. Measurements are about 11-1/4” overall width(including the attachment brackets) x 7-3/4" height. TWO(2) CAST IRON 3-DIMENSIONAL ANTIQUE ORNATE VICTORIAN REGISTER VENT GRATE COVERS Beautifully ornate covers for wall or floor. These cast iron covers are 3 dimensional rather than flat. Grate holes in the outward facing top are rounded crosses, while the bottom edges of the top are filled with elaborate scrolls and a"crown" Closed on 3 sides and open on the 4th. There are 3 attachment tabs with the top one in a rounded arrow style and the two side tabs rounded. Each grate is 20-1/2" long with the two end tabs, 19" without. They are 7-1/2" from the bottom of the scroll work to the top of the arrow shaped tab, 6-1/2" without the tab. Each grate is 2" tall. Condition: Very good condition. No cracks. Breaks or repairs. There is some surface rust and dirt. The attachment tabs are all there and unbroken. These ... morewould be great as wall displays or for their original purpose. VINTAGE Floor Register HEATER Heating GRATE Antique not sure if cast iron HEAVY
This is for the floor grate that you see here. Heavy steel or metal floor grate. Not sure if cast iron or not. I don't believe it to be. But the top part could be. Painted but the paint is peeling/chipping off. Surface rust. Solid. I'm guessing it to be well over 100 years old, but that is a guess. I am not sure. The knob that opens and closes it is stuck, will need to be freed up. Drops into a 12" x 7" opening. The top grate is 13.75" x 8.75" Nice look and a restoration project.
