You are bidding on a 3 antique heat grates with louver frame attached. They measure 11 7/8" by 9 7/8" on grate face and have a 8" by 10" frame. There is old paint that needs to come off before repainting. It comes off easy if you warm it up with a torch before scraping. I removed all the screws and reinserted them so they come appart easy from the frame. If you wish to buy only the grate face I can remove them. No cracks or welds. This Is a very old Antique Vintage Electric Fireplace Insert(Victorian? I believe it is Cast Iron construction. not sure if it is brass/copper plated but does have a goldish color on metal in spots. I did not clean it. I just dusted it off and wiped it down with mild cleaner. There is a switch on the side of this piece to turn this on. There is a wire top over the(2) red bulbs that hold the Amber Glass placed on top of metal to give the appearance of embers. The one light socket has a heat activated spinning vane that makes the embers(glass) looks like they are burning. This piece is very, very heavy. This piece is a nice early register or vent with a lovely design which looks like a snowflake. Old white paint which wearing from use on the top and a dark, dirty patina on the bottom from use. Dimensions are approximately 22 ¼” wide at the front. 19 ½” wide at the back, 16” tall at back, 12” tall at front, depth at legs is 11 1/4” and grate is 14 ½” deep. It weighs a little over 45 pounds. The only imperfection is on the back right corner where several of the uprights are slightly separated from the bottom rail. It is still very strong and can be picked up by the top. The imperfection can hardly be noticed from the front. The indicated shipping price is only for the lower 48 contiguous states of the US. Antique Cast Iron Heat Register Return Grate Great Pedestal Too With Copper Legs Yeh! My favorite flea market opened for the season. And I am still listing items from my antique store trip as well as the farm auction sale- there’s loooots of new items this week, and something for everyone! You don't need an old house to enjoy this one- dontcha think it would make a GRATE.I mean GREAT decorative pedestal for you too! I've never seen anything like it. It's a cast iron heat return grate marked with its size on the border- 12" by 14" but the outside dimensions are actually 14" by 14" and it stands 2 1/4" off the ground on 4 legs, as you can see in my photos. Now, I'm sure that the legs had some other function when in use- but they are legs to me now! They appear to be either screws or just pieces soldered ... moreonto the iron(or part of the cast itself) I cannot tell for sure as they are covered with sheet copper. I didn't even realize this until I got a peek of green when I was taking my photos- the copper is so old and dark, it just about matches the rusty dark color of the iron, but you see peeks of the copper in the right light, and more of the gorgeous green oxidation to see. The piece is in excellent solid and sturdy condition and weighs a hefty 7 lbs. As I said above, there's surface rust in spots that can be seen all over the grate- it's surface only, there's no thick spots or eat throughs, and it only adds to the charm! You can see spots of very light pitting to the iron that you see with old cast iron- all minor. It's barn fresh dirty and dusty, and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. OLD Victorian Era Architecture! This is a heating grate/vent cover recovered from a victorian home. The front cover measures approx. 9 1/2 X 13 1/2. The louvered box on backside measures approx. 7 1/2 X 11 X 2 deep. The louvers open/close but there is no handle to operate them. The entire piece is made up of mixed metal. One type for the cover and the louvered"box" seems to be made of a thinner metal. I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY what the metals are. Typically covers were cast iron or similar heavy metal. This one had been painted white. Great HONEYCOMB Design. Found in basement. It is quite dusty dirty and will need a more thorough cleaning.

Beautiful heavy duty vintage cast iron floor grate. It measures 23.25" by 14.5" and is 1/8" to 5/8" thick. This grate weighs 12.5 pounds. The paint is 99% gone and it is rusted with nice patina.Truly antique and damage free. This would make a beautiful table or look great hanging on a wall. Thanks for looking. ORNATE ANTIQUE CAST IRON REGISTER HEAT GRATE+ LOUVERS 11x15 3/4 needs 9x14 hole
This is a very nice Victorian era cast iron register or heat grate. It is complete with the louvers or dampers that function, we used some wd-40 to lubricate the mechanism for the louvers. It measures aprox. 11" x 15 3/4" and would fit a floor or wall opening that is 9" wide x 14" high. There is some surface rust but overall is in good condition, no breaks or damage.
