It dates from the early 1900's around 1920. It is a signed Electrolier fixture. This company made high end lighting in the 1920's and 1930's. This fixture comes with the slip shade. The glass shade is free from any chips or cracks. This lamp looks quite nice hen it is lit. The sconce has the original gold paint and it is free from any signs of rust which is nice. This slip shade sconce has the original switch on it and it is still active and working. This lamp has been tested working however it still has the old cloth wires so you may want to have them replaced. The sconce measures 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and projects 5 1/4" from the wall( with the shade on) The slip for the shade is 4 5/8" at the top and curves in over 3 1/4" As you can see there is some white wall paint on the one corner. This could easily be cleaned off but we did not want to ruin any of the original gold paint so we will leave it up to you. Never Any Reserve! All questions will be answered promptly! Measuring 15" x 9" the protrusion from the wall is variable from 4" to 6" Made from hammered brass in a wonderful floral design featuring stylised sunflowers. Fruit and leaves in the Aesthetic Movement style There are several concealed registration lozenges within the design. Dating it to 1876 There are some etched marks to the top reverse corner that I cannot distinguish. The design is very much in the manner of wallpaper designs by Dr. Christopher Dresser ~ so possibly a Dresser design. This original arts& crafts mission style wall sconce dates from the early 1900's. All brass sconce has its original pullchain socket and square 2-piece 2 1/4 in. shade holder. Shade has no cracks but does have a"sliver" off of two of its vertical side edges(see pics) Sconce has a darkened patina and metal is straight. The wall mount has two mount holes and will require a mounting surface that is about 3 inches wide and about 1/2 inches tall. We installed two copper caps in the original conduit holes and added the 90 degree elbow and short brass pipe on the top. The elbow and the brass pipe we added allows all the wiring to be 100% hidden from sight. You can install a plate cover over your existing junction box and drill a hole that will allow the conduit pipe to enter your junction box. Next step is to screw the light to your cover plate and you are done. Also, the new pipe we installed can be cut flush with the wall mount, and the light can be installed right to the wall with no junction box. If you want the pipe cut, just tell us and will cut it flush before the lights are shipped. The globes are glass and in good condition. Each light weighs almost 3/12 pounds. Amazing pair of vintage Sarreid brass candle sconces. From what I have researched. These were made in the 60's and are very rare. These beauties are solid brass and are sure to make a statement. Each sconce measures 20" tall and 5-3/4" wide. They still have a great shine, they just need a cleaning. I was not comfortable chemically cleaning them myself because I did not want to harm them, but I feel like they will clean up perfectly. There is very very minimal surface tarnish, and no deep scratches or corrosion. The last few pictures are of the back side, which seems to need more cleaning than the front. They wire right into the wall. There is a top light that stands 7" from the brass bottom or center fixture to the top of the glass and it is 4" diameter at the top of glass.
