antique mahogany piano balusters
These Mahogany Balusters were removed from a Clough and Warren Upright Grand piano. They would have been produced between 1895 and 1909. In 1910 the company name changed to Warren Pianos. They are made of Mahogany. If you know anything on the mahogany used in this time frame you know that this cannot be imported any longer. The rough spot on the columns is not damage to the piece. It is part of the piece they were attached to and the glue held when they were removed. You should be able to steam the glue and remove the rough part. The tape lying next to the pieces should give you the dimensions. I am specifying a high shipping because I have not boxed them up as of yet in case anyone wants more pictures. Because of that I do not know what the shipping will be. Do not pay for the item at the end ofthe auction. Solid Brass Balusters
These beautiful solid brass balusters are from a building built in Milwaukee. Wisconsin, around 1900. We suspect they came from Germany, but we are not certain. Each baluster stands approximately 28.5 inches tall, and is approximately 6.25 inches wide, at its widest point. Each weighs about 7 pounds. We have removed excess paint, but have gone no further, as to leave them in their original condition. Two of the 46 pieces represent"end" units for the complete balustrade. Price for lot of 46 pieces is negotiable.

For your Consideration: Antique/Vintage stair balusters 17 units in all. 2 different lengths. You are buying one at a time 12 pieces around 30 1/8 inches from the bottom of the square section to the upper tip. 5 pieces around 26 1/2 inches from the bottom of the square section to the upper tip. Bottom Square Section Measures 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" wide x 2 1/4"H One unit has a piece of wood missing.see picture. I am not a wood expert. But these appear to be made of mahogany. I would date these around 1875 or so.machine made. The fluting is concave. And is also tapered.a really nice shape. There is some paint.one coat on a few. But not all.the original finish is failing though, so these will need reconditioning. Shipped quickly to you. From my smoke fee home. Thanks for looking.

Antique Vintage Hard Wood Balusters Stair Staircase Spindles Lot of 26 This is a lot of 26 hardwood antique stair balusters removed from a building in PA. I am also listing two newel posts that were removed from the same staircase. You can see them in my other auctions. There are 3 balusters that have flat bottoms as opposed to the slanted ones that were going up the staircase. They measure 30 5/8' There are 13 balusters with the slanted bottoms(shown in the middle) They measure 30¼' There are 10 slanted bottom ones(shown on the right) that measure 26 3/4' The'turned area' on ALL of the spindles measures 18' The tops are 1 3/4" square. Two of the flat ones have a piece gone at the tops from being removed from the railing. I have taken a photo of that section to show the wood grain so that it could possible ... morebe identified. These balusters are heavy and the grains are close together unlike a pine. The wood is not soft. These are dusty(I have not cleaned them) and a few have nails. Offered as a single lot are four matching 19th century antique wooden architectural columns dating ca. 1890. These turned and painted wooden porch spandrel spindles. Or balusters, were salvaged during the renovation of a Victorian era carriage house in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each antique spindle measures approx. 19.75 inches tall, with base and top measurements of approx. 2.5 inches square. The baluster spindles have a wonderful surface! They still retain most of their old, crackled, chippy white paint. The spindles stand on their own, if you wish to use them as mantel garnitures to flank an antique mirror or portrait. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! Nopenopenope- I'm not finished with the farm auction architectural and hardware- I still have looooots of lots- it's like opening a treasure every time I open a box. I'll have new items this week. What I have here is a lot of 5, vintage solid oak turned wood staircase balusters. ... moreIt's a matching set, and they are gorgeous, with a patina that I'd describe as a dark medium. Each one weighs just over 1 1/4 lbs, and measures 30 5/8" longest. That's measuring from the flat end on one end, to the"like a stairstep) raised end on the other side- like the ends on either side in photo 8. The balusters measure 1 1/2" square at the ends, and go down to about 1 3/8" in the center where the wood is turned. They are all in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The finish shows some wear, with one that has more wear on one side than the others. There's very minor scratches, scrapes, nicks and dings that you really have to look for. Two of them have rusty nails that have been pounded down sticking out one end- see my photos. I see some light hairline cracks from age and the dry winter- but very minor and no movement at all- these are strong and beautiful and ready for you! Please ask if you have any questions. And I am still listing items from my antique store trip as well as the farm auction sale- there’s loooots of new items this week, and something for everyone! I have a sets of vintage table legs that I listed today- so be sure to check out those. And these, I first thought were table legs, but I think now that they may be balusters- see what you think, they will be yours to do with what you want! This listing is for the set of 4 turned wood pieces that you see here- I do believe they are pine, but I'm not a wood expert, so please look at my photos to see. Each one weighs 2 1/2 lbs, and they are 25 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" square at both ends. One end has two screw holes at the top that go all the way through to the other side. ... moreThey are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's wear to the finish in spots expected- like in the raised areas and smaller areas on the body, with more wear at the tops where they have the screw holes. There's nicks, scratches, scrapes and dings seen all over, and they could use a good cleaning, I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. Please ask if you have any questions. Late 1800s fancy turned Balusters & handrail set -oak/walnut
They were removed from a late 1800s brownstone in Newyork I have the newel post listed separately in my ebay store if interested.This listing is for the stair balusters and handrails.I also have marble fireplace mantles from the home and the front doors please take a look when you can.The handrails are more then 30 feet total and are nice and wide as picture showsI believe they are walnut like the newel posts I have listed in another listing and there are 59 super nice balusters which look like oak wood.Most are long ones at 31 inches long and some are 27nches long. 10 Vintage Turned Wood Jenny Lind Style Spindles Balusters Architectural Salvage
Up for auction are 10 Jenny Lind Style Turned Wood Spindles salvaged from an old Jenny Lind style bed frame. Two look a little different because I played with them a little first. Spindles measure 16" long x 1" diameter. And all have both end spokes except for one. There's 1 spindle that has a few notch chips and 1 spindle that is slightly bowed and has a few chips(please refer to last photo) Otherwise they look to be in great vintage condition. Antique Tiger oak wood Balusters hand rails mortise newel posts large pieces old
I have some very nice pieces that I took out of one of my houses before it was demolished. I took all the parts for a staircase. Everything that you need except the steps. There are 2 Newel posts, the housed and open stringer(very thick) all the shaped, not square ballusters and all the handrails, even the trim that goes in between the ballusters. These all have white paint over them. But can easily be restored. I have restored many of my own items, and I know how beautiful these stairs will look. They would cost a fortune to find a solid piece of oak this large! I also have tons of door and window trim, and doors too. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures and measurements. The pictures of the refinished stairs are not the items that I have. But look similar if they were restored. New INFO: Large Newel Post ... moreis 56.25" tall and 6" wide at base and 7.5" wide at top. The top has leaves carved into the oak. Look closely through the paint. Lots of detail and is in great shape. Smaller Newel Post is 38" tall and 4.75" wide. And is more of a basic design(came from the same staircase though) There are 22 angle shaped balusters spindles(for the stairs) 25" x 1 5/8. 22 flat end balusters spindles(for the top of stairs down the hallway) 26" x 1.75" Hand Rail is 136" long and is 2.5"x 5" Smaller Hand Rail is 8' long with 2 end pieces that are 6.25" long. Closed Skirt Stringer 99.5 x 8.25 x 7/8. Open Stringer 143" x 11.25 x 1. I also have a bad full of the trim pieces that go between the balusters. And some other trim pieces that came off of the stairs.

This is a set of Four Wooden Table Legs. As shown in the photos below. They are used and came from an old table that had been dissembled and was about to be burned. I salvaged them over 20 years ago. They are well made from what looks like oak. But because of their age, they may be Chestnut. They are still in good shape. They measure around 23-1/2" tall and vary from around 4" to 7" in diameter.
