I can tell you its very very old i could not find another one like it any ware on the computer. It looks like the person who owned it has a old drill bit and screw it on to a old antique block of solid wood. It does screw off its not welded on the drill bit. When you look at the bottom ware screw threads are it begins with a white metal but then it turns into a brass color metal so thats why i my self think its solid brass or bronze but again you collectors will be the judge. Please see the very close up picture of the threads and you will see exactly what i mean about the threads turning into a brass color after the first 4 or 5 threads. If any one can tell me any information about it please do. From the point of his beck to the tail its around 16 1/2 inches long. then from top of tail to bottom of tail its almost 10 inches long. then from his belly to top of his head around 12 inches tall then from one side of his body to other side its around 3 1/4 inches fat. Then when sitting on the block from the bottom block of wood to the top of the head its around 26 1/2 inches tall. The wood base it self is 2 1/2 inches thick and left to right around 6 1/2 and front to back around 6 inches long. Still in very good solid condtion i do not see anything broken at all. Again if any one can please tell me who made this and its exact age and what its made of i thank you very much for your help. This was found from the same estate sale as my old antique Gothic chandeliers plus a very old hunting duck hat with old pins on it that i have listed on ebay please have a look at them if you like. This exquisitely detailed small horse weather vane has all the attributes of the larger size. Only in smaller, tabletop size. Very heavy. I suspect it is copper as a magnetic strip does not stick to the horse, just the support stick and directionals. The horse– or essence of a horse headed south“ the only direction that matters this time of year! measures approximately 14.5” tall from table by approximately 11” from nose to tip of right hoof. I think the tail may have always been“bobbed” But I can’t say for sure. Letters and front hoof tip are missing, but still a very strong classic presentation. Large original antique copper whimsical folk art dairy cow weathervane. Cow has genuine green patina from its many years of outside usage along with the usual weathering(wear and tear) This is definitely not a reproduction in any way. Shape or form. Two of the feet have broken spots or a piece missing. Please see pics. Cow measures 30-1/2" from nose to tail and stands 22-1/2" tall. It is approximately 3" thick at its thickest point. The bar that feet are attached to is not complete. I found my cow on a large"working/hunting" ranch in rural Southern California. This auction is for a wonderful copper antique horse weathervane. My mother bought this 45 years ago in Houston at an estate sale. The people had moved here from a farm that had been in their family for generations in Maine. This came from the families barn. There are 2 bullet holes in the horse. It looks like it is slightly dented in a little near the top bullet hole. However. It is in very good condition and would be great for that special collector. There is no seperation in the seals. This weathervane came off my grandparents garage. All the parts are there just need bolts or screws for mounting. Up for auction is this beautiful antique rooster weathervane. It is NOT magnetic. Great antique 19th century carved wood cod fish weathervane. This primitively carved piece has remnants of paint on the underside. There are carved lines to highlight the eyes. Fins and some scales. There may have been zinc fins and a tail attached to the vane at the seam. It probably came apart and it looks like round headed nails were used to put it back together, however, the age of the weathervane is greater than that. It was bought from a man in Fairhaven, MA. He told us that it came from a small church on Nantucket Island. This is all he knew about it. It measures 27 1/2" long, 5 1/2" tall, and 3 1/2" wide. The weathervane was mounted on the roof of a neighbor's house in the early 1940's. I suspect it is much older than this. But I can only declare for certain that it is this old, because I remember it as a child. My parent's purchased the house at a later time and when they passed away the weathervane came into my possession. It measures approx. 35 1/2" tall and it is 27" wide measuring across the arrow. There is a round piece of metal beneath this. That they must have inserted into a small hole and then the weathervane had screws, that fastened the weathervane to the roof of the house. There is paint wear from being outside so many ... moreyears. There is some rust on the bottom round disk. But it has not harmed the metal and the wethervane just needs to be cleaned and painted or you can enjoy displaying it in his natural, weathered state. I have kept it inside my home for at least fifteen years as a display piece. The antique globe in the first phoograph is not part of this auction. It is time to let someone else enjoy this wonderful. It looks like a wrought iron but with the green on it I can’t tell if it was painted or possible copper turned green. Most of my items are estate finds so I have no way of knowing if they came from a smoke free or pet free house. Keep this in mind if you are overly sensitive. Hi and thanks for visiting this auction! This is an original hand made Copper Eagle Weathervane probably dating to the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is in beautiful condition as it has been on display inside for the last 40 years or so. Look close at the pictures and please ask questions before you bid! The beak shows some damage as shown in the picture. But it doesn't take away from the overall beauty of the piece. The wingspan measures about 21" it stands about 51" from the top of a wing to the base of the mounting bracket. You are bidding on the whole unit, this includes the Eagle and the copper ball he is attached to, the small ball below that, the arrow, the directional unit, another ball, the rod and mounting base. All original& untouched. The craftsmanship is second to none. It was hand made out of heavy guage hammered copper& retains an incredible& original blue/green verdigris patina. My guess on the age is early 1900's? Measures approx. 21.25" long x 6" tall. Not counting the solid copper rod, which is 3/8" thick& measures 11 3/8" long from the rusty metal washer. This piece has a charming design that includes a farmer in his hay filled wagon pulled by 3 draft horses that are being harassed ... moreby a dog with the farmers son walking behind carrying his hay sickle. The silhouette design was crafted out of heavy guage hammered copper sheet with a hand drill& jewelers saw. You can see the handwork upon close inspection. See photos. The design is very detailed& proportioned. It was expertly& securely attached to the flattened& tapered rod end by two copper rivets that were hand hammered. The only thing that is not copper is the rusty& pitted metal washer. Wonderful condition with some minor nicks& scratches. Some copper showing through in small areas, some slightly bent tips. No breaks& never cleaned. There are areas of dark oxidation mostly to the back side of design as seen in photos. The boys anckles show dark copper, I'm guessing where he was slightly bent& realigned. No stress cracks that I can find. The whole length of the pivot rod has a smooth worn finish with wear scratches from spinning& the end has been worn down smooth& rounded. Direction and weather conditions, the animal motifs were generally placed on the barn were as the banners were mainly places on the home. Antique Appaloosa Horse-Arrow Weathervane-Cast Aluminum 26.5" Tall-1-Bullet Hole
Antique Appaloosa Horse Weathervane Up for consideration is a tall. Over 26" old, all aluminum, weathervane, featuring an Appaloosa horse on a the arrow directional. The arrow tail is complete with one bullet hole through the lower half of the feather portion of the arrow. The metal is all pretty straight, but not perfectly straight. All of the vane has been recently painted, with the exception of the arrow. The base has a screw like bottom. The arrow is 21 1/4"long, the horse being 6 1/8" tall and 7 1/2" long, and the directionals are 13 3/8" long, with the letters being 2 9/16- 2 5/8" in height. It weighs about 1 lb. and 4 oz. It is in excellent shape for its age with no real issues. There are a few very thin splits were the fish was joined together at the soldering joints but very minor. Late 1800 to early 1900's weathervane by Jos Barnett& Co. Barnett was in business in Riverside. Iowa from 1896 until the depression The entire piece stands 27" tall. The ornate arrow is 19" long and made of cast iron with 2 stainless steel clips that hold the glass insert in place. The arrow has been gold gilded and has some wear and pitting along the front side and on the two outside corners of the square holding the etched glass also on the front side The ruby red. Deeply etched, glass piece is 5" long by 3" wide. The glass is in fantastic condition with no chips or scratching The ball no longer has the protective end caps and does have some chips in both rims. It is 5" across. No cracks or other chipping The copper center rod with the crown is 25" total length. The crown itself is 3" by 3" ... moreand also copper There is a 3" long brass sleeve with a set screw that slides over the copper rod to just under the arrow. Tighten the set screw and this holds the arrow in place. Antique Weathervane- Zinc or Tin- Original Lightning Rod Arrow
This is a nice vintage weathervane made of zinc or tin. It may have had a glass piece at one time but I don't see anything that would have held the glass in place- there are no clips or screw holes where clips would have gone. Anyway. The weathervane is in nice shape with normal pitting and wear typical of the age of the piece. I did not try to clean it, I know the patina is important to most people. It measures about 21 inches long. I have another old weathervane arrow on now and will be happy to combine shipping. Thanks for looking.

LARGE ANTIQUE COPPER & ZINC MOLDED EAGLE WEATHERVANE 36 INCH WINGSPAN
This large antique copper and zinc molded weathervane stands approx. 26 inches tall and has a 36 inch wingspan. This rare lerge size weathervane is made of molded copper with zinc feet. The weathervane retains much of its original gilding. However, there is old yellow paint over most of the gilding. Some of the gilding on the wings has recently peeled off exposing the brown copper underneath, however, there are other areas where the gilding came off years ago and the copper has turned green. The eagle itself is in very good condition, however, there is a small dent in the ball. There are some cracks in copper rod that holds the eagle to the ball. Overall very good condition. As with all my items I am starting this auctin at $9.99 with NO RESERVE!

Antique Primitive Dog Weathervane Estate find from an antique collector in Pennsylvania. This is a great original folk art weather vane. No roosters or horses here, this is a unique cut heavy sheet metal dog standing on a primitive arrow. It has been painted a light gray color. I would probably remove the paint but will leave that you to the buyer. There is a small bracket on the bottom edge of the arrow that supports the 2.5" post that fits in the pole. Good antique condition with old painted patina and some small spots of white paint( Can be mounted on a pole or hung on a wall or displayed on a small stand. I also have the pole with the directional pieces(N. S, E& W) I am listing it separately because the shipping will be higher with the poles and the fixed directional pieces.
