They are ¼” thick ... moreand have a white clay base. Condition: Overall excellent condition for being 100 years old. There is a small chip on the top right corner of the bottom right tile. There is a burst bubble in her hair. There is some wear on the high points around her left hand. There is a small chip at the bottom of her hair near her belt. There are a few other burst bubbles and a few other smaller than pin head nicks thought. It has clean even crazing. This is very hard to photograph. I never noticed how this sparkles in any light. It may look like there is damage where there is not. Please look at all the photos to judge condition. Please use the photos as part of the description. Maker: I do not know the maker. I have not examined the back of the tiles. Age: One side or the other of 1900. I purchased this 30 years ago and have had it hanging in my house ever since. It turns out that my wife really does not like it so it must go. This came out of a clothing store and was framed in the 50s. I have removed this from the frame that will not be included. It really deserves a proper matt and frame. This is currently mounted on a thin stable plywood panel measuring 22 ¼” square. I have not tried to remove the tiles. The white spots on the outside edge of the plywood panel are remnant of shims for the old matt. This is ready to reframe and enjoy. If you do not like this for any reason just send it back. I do not have a buy it now price. Shipping: This will be well packaged and shipped in a box 30”by 30” by 5” and weigh 10Lbs. Payment: By PayPal within Three days of auction close. Classic Art Nouveau swirls in a moss green glaze. Chip free,and when viewed straight-on,it shows as a near perfect tile. Some light,fine abrasion to the glaze can be seen when tilted in the light,on the perimeter,where the glaze is darker and slightly higher.Nice looking tile. ANTIQUE c1870-90 MINTON FINE ENAMELLED PORCELAIN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT TILE PANELS
Description This set of 4 antique circa 1870-90 Minton(attributed) Aesthetic Movement tile panels. Are quite thin porcelain panel plaques of rectangular form. They are very finely hand painted in coloured enamels with a continuous scene of white lilies and a vine winding around a branch against a greeny blue enamel ground in a very Anglo-Japanese(Japonism) style. This lovely set of tile panel plaques are unmarked and one panel has been broken and re-glued neatly but shows on the front where the enamel ground has fritted at the break line. On the back it looks like a hairline crack. There are a few minor tiny enamel frits to the edges, the glazed backs have some crackle in the glaze and one panel has a small square of cellotape where there are two little plucks at the surface on the back, otherwise they are in good condition. This tile is printed in a dark brown/ sepia colour with a large& most attractive design featuring two large birds sat on a sprig with a large central flower. There is a lovely butterfly towards the bottom and two smaller butterflies one of which is just to the left of the upper bird. Which has its beak open in anticipation. I JUST GOT THIS GREAT PAIR OF ANTIQUE OHIO SEWER TILE GARDEN LIONS RIGHT OUT OF THE BARN IN AN OLD ESTATE. FAMILY MEMBERS SAID THESE WERE MADE BY THEIR GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF OHIO THAT LIVED IN THE UHRICHSVILLE AREA. THESE WERE MADE IN THE MID TO LATE 1800'S. THEY WERE PAINTED AND PUT OUTSIDE FOR MANY DECADES BUT HAVE BEEN IN THE BARN SINCE THE MID 1960'S. ONLY TRACES OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT REMAINS. THESE WERE FIRED WITHOUT GLAZE AND THE DETAIL IS VERY SHARP. THOUGH THEY WERE PROBABLY MOLDED FORMS THE HAND ENCISED DETAILING IS VERY EVIDENT IN THEIR MANES FACES AND EYES. Antique Floral Tile from Japan
Beautiful high-glazed colorful tile from Japan. We don't know who made this tile but it has fine workmanship and dates back to around 1900. The art nouveau style was copied from the English. But it is more colorful than the original designs. The glaze has slight crackling from age. There is evidence of wear on edges; is a tiny chip on one edge is noticeable(see upper left side of photo) Overall, for a 100+ year old tile, it is in very good condition. It measures 5 3/4" square x 5/8" thick.

Stylized botanicals in a blue grey and mauve/wine glaze. Unless tilted in the light,this tile appears perfect. The border has some light rub/abrasion that can't be seen looking straight at the tile. When tilted,it shows as dull spots/very fine scratches.Really a beautiful tile! Up for auction is an attractive Victorian Aesthetic Movement Print& Tint floral tile made by T A Simpson of Stoke on Trent. This tile has a pretty central image with a black diamond decorated with a number of seashells& seaweed in red. Brown, yellow& white. The diamond is surrounded by a beaded border, a contrasting circular border with sprigs& quarter flowers to the corners. The tile is printed in sepia on a cream coloured ground and then hand tinted in the colours mentioned above. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. The tile measures 6 inches(15 cms) square& is over 1/2 an inch deep. It is very heavy for a tile of this size and weighs approx 625g. Up for auction is a fabulous red& white printed Victorian tile maker unknown. I have seen this tile in several different colours but it looks particularly striking in red. This tile is printed in red on an off white background. There is a large floral spray covering most of the tile. A central inner circle is coloured dark red. With the remainder of the tile a paler red almost pinkish colour. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. The tile measures 6 inches square. See condition report in section above. This is a beautiful and colorful floral subject tile using white and green as main colors on a black ground. The glaze is quite glossy. It was made by Minton's China Works in Stoke-on Trent. England, between 1868-1890. These tiles are used today in remodels. As the focal tiles in fireplace surrounds, kitchen, bath and bar areas. They are also now framed up individually for wall decoration, for trivets, and on display in commercial properties- jewlery, bakery, and antique store window displays! Low did a series of woven and fabric patterns and I am listing a few different types.The glaze is a fantastic deep midnight blue.
