Unusual louvered and solid panel shutters. Each panel gets gradually narrower in width from the outside(solid) panel measuring approximately 8 1/2" to 6" on inside panel. One side is a stained finish. The other is flat black(faded) These open accordian style with each panel having a"lip" that fits with next panel. Lovely old hinges, two knobs and one latch set. These are stained. Dusty, dirty, scuffed, etc. Probably the original finish-not refinished. There is a crack at the bottom of one of the solid panels(see pics) I think this could be reglued and clamped. Does not seem to be affecting integrity of shutters. I could not find a date as to when the build was first constructed, but some info pointed to the mid 1800's. There are 6 pairs offered in this lot. They measure 27" wide x 93" long x 1 3/8" thick. All are in good solid condition- 3 have had about an inch cut off one side and 3 have some missing trim molding from the panels. They do have some scuffs and scratches the one panel does have a very noticeable scuff that can be seen in the center top of the panel on the right and they do need cleaned. Antique Arched White Topped Solid Wood Shutters, w/blacksmithed latched & lock
This auction is for a pair of Colonial style 19th century arched topped. Solid wood shutters with forged latches& hinges. These pieces measure 66 3/4" on one side and 63 1/2" on the other side. They are 1 1/4" thick. The shutter with the slide latch is 17 1/4"wide the other side is 17 1/2"wide. They also have hinge mounts but not the mounting posts. There are also pull rings on both shutters. The panels are mortise& tenon. They have ship-lapped mating edges. There is a slide bar latch with friction stop. The hardware appears to be hand forged.

You will receive two shutters that will cover one window. They have a additional board on the hinge side of each. One complete side when opened measures 16" wide x 34 3/4" tall x 3/4" thick. This measurement is without the hinge board. Very good condition but are dusty and dirty from storage. Repainted red. has scuffs and scratches, indents. All the small slats open and close as they should. Was missing few hinge pins and we replaced with finish nails. Sold as is as found with no warranty's. There are three matching pair. Center edges are rabbeted so they fit tite. Two half hinges on each shutter, as well as the spring wire on one end. Bottoms all have horns and they are marked with Roman numerals. The width of the pair is given: Two pair measure 31"x57" The widest pair is 44"x57" One loose one at 15-1/2"x57.And one loose at 15-1/2"x41"There is one missing 1/2 hinge. Antique Pair of Traditionally Carved Chinese Red and Gilt Screen Panels From a Wedding Bed. Or possibly interior shutters for decorating the inside of temple windows. 15" wide x 40" high. Four intricately carved scenes. Two on each screen, with three floral and leaf panels top, bottom, and center. Metal hinges for hanging have been added at the top at a later time. Photos show where each screen was joined to other panels at the top, bottom, and sides, probably by wooden pegs and tenon. Beautiful rich red multiple tones with traces of gilt highlight the carvings. Excellent, intact condition. A few normal areas of wear.
