It dates from the early 1900's around 1920. It is a signed Electrolier fixture. This company made high end lighting in the 1920's and 1930's. This fixture comes with the slip shade. The glass shade is free from any chips or cracks. This lamp looks quite nice hen it is lit. The sconce has the original gold paint and it is free from any signs of rust which is nice. This slip shade sconce has the original switch on it and it is still active and working. This lamp has been tested working however it still has the old cloth wires so you may want to have them replaced. The sconce measures 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and projects 5 1/4" from the wall( with the shade on) The slip for the shade is 4 5/8" at the top and curves in over 3 1/4" As you can see there is some white wall paint on the one corner. For your consideration we have a pair of VINTAGE CARVED WOODEN SHELVES/SCONCES These shelves are in nice vintage condition. They measure 6" tall. 4 3/4" wide and 2 5/8" deep. They are cream colored with gold accents and each have 2 hangers on back. They do have some paint chipping and discoloration which may or may not be removed with a good cleaning. We cleaned the tops a little and some of the discoloration came off so it may just be a buildup of grime. These were acquired at an estate sale in a very old house. GORGEOUS PAIR OF BRASS? SCONCES I think these are made of brass. They have a nice weight to them. They have gorgeous putti angels inside with a dog, and barbola roses and the tops have bows and tassels at the bottom. They are in good vintage condition, one arm has a tiny bent mark in it, I show in photo number 10, its minor but there. Very pretty, not sure if they work but wiring is there and it doesnt look that old. Not sure on age or origin but I dont think these are new. Measure: about 16" long x about 8.5" wide at arms and stand a little under 5" from wall. Hi. Here is a great pair of antique/vintage wall sconces, each one in the shape of a Temple Menorah with 7 arms, they would look amazing on any wall, the wiring is original so i would have it checked with an electrition, but it is all there, all original. i did not polish the brass so it is in old patina finish. The menorah part is all brass, the backplate is metal that has been gilded. the turn on and off switch is on the back plate and there are two holes for mounting to the wall. the wiring, like i said is all there from all 7 lights to the back. the pair are big measuring 14 3/4 inches long and 11 inches wide at the widest point.the sconces the backplate measures 5" round and are 6.5 inches deep, that means when mounted on the wall they protrude 6.5 inches from the wall. great for lighting a special spot. And with 7 small candelabra ... morebulbs, you will have a great look on the wall. they have an old look. With nice detailing on the front the brass is worn as is the back plate, you can polish up or use as they are. the candlestick parts are covered with white candle covers, and all the insides are there. i have not lit them, i would check with electrition or good handy man before using them. they are as found in an estate. Brass, electrified wall sconces features detailed carving of tall ship sailing on a wave with ship's sails and flags flying in the wind. Ships mast and sails are painted in black and white with a red star featured on lower right sail(enamel work?and ornate scroll design work boarders the scene. Sconce has smaller"coat of arms like" ornament with red painted center that dangles below candle arm. Inside area of candle holder is marked"pat. pend.and there appear to be other initials located here but cannot make them out. All sconces feature what appears to be original wiring with original Ratner sockets and a switch on plate. There is a wall screw hole in middle of each sconce on wall plate. Single sconce measure approx. 10 1/4" tall ... moreby 4 1/4 inches wide. From candle base to wall measures approx. 5" Double sconce measures approx. 10 1/4" tall by 8 1/2" wide. There is some wear showing on the painted portions of the ships sails. Double sconce is missing cap on switch. The buyer should assume sconces will need to be rewired due to age. Pair of Spectacular Antique Rock Crystal Sconces. It doesn't get any better than these gorgeous large beaded sconces. Incredible beaded domes with flower in center. These definitely make a statement. One sconce is missing three beads on the side. But with the amount of beads on these sconces, it is not noticeable. Two candle lights on each sconce. There are holes in the gold bobeche cups, so you can add prisms if desired. There are some superficial small cracks in the metal and some white paint mostly on the back of the sconces. Measure approximately 22 1/4 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide across the backplate. Please have a qualified person check all antique lighting before installation. Antique art nouveau small brass wall mirror with 2 candle sconces
This is a charming small art nouveau wall mirror and 2 adjustable candle sconces. They are connected to the center of the frame with a bolt and ball nut that I do not feel are original although it has always been there for the 25 years that I have had the piece. It is all brass and has the face of a cherub at top center and on the back has a cast in loop to pass a wire through for hanging. The mirror is held in place by a metal strip screwed to the frame. The mirror is in perfect condition and measures 4" x 1 1/4" The complete length is 9 1/4" x 4 1/4" at widest part of frame. The sconces when fully extended are 8" and I will leave them that way for shipping. There are no identifying marks on it. I do not accept returns or give refunds. While the creator/maker is not known, we believe this pair to be made in France or Italy. The base may be a bronze or copper, since there is some overall pitting of the gold gilt finish with bronze/copper showing through. The overall natural distress and aging is fabulous. Purchased from an estate sale in Florida. We'd hoped to use these in our restoration project of our ca. 1890 home. And for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company(extant today of course) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply ... moredazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do, these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier! I have pair of similar bowtie fixtures listed but they are a Chevrolet as compared to the Rolls-Royce fixtures listed here. Each is priced accordingly. Similar bow-tie fixtures have stamped-aluminum back-plates with a brass-like finish. The mounting rods(the rods that extend from the back-plate to hold the shade) are simply threaded straight rods(the kind you buy from any hardware store) The shades are thin and with a simple pattern frosted on. The Lightolier fixtures shown here have stamped brass back-plates(all the metal parts are brass) The shades mount to a pair of curved tubes(see last image) that are quite lovely. Indeed. The fixture without the shade is attractive! Beautiful machining is typical of Lightolier. And the shades? Wow! Presenting an exquisite pair of 1900's electric wall sconces with original stencil etched ruffled shades. The sconce arms are cast brass with a lovely cast acanthus leaf design. The 4" shade holders are cast brass. The backplate is spun brass. The sockets are Edison with long stems. The sconces were polished and laquered 30 years ago. Dimensions: backplate 4" x 7 3/4" 4" fitter, shades 7 1/2" diam x 4" arm extends 9" from wall. There are no chips or cracks in the shades. Hello. This and most of the auctions I will be listing this week are for some of the most special things I have ever listed on Ebay. This auction is for 2 Antique handmade French passementerie petite clip on lamp sconces. They have some wonderful Antique ribbon with glisteny metal thread. And a very finely done petitpoint scene of flowers As you can see by the photos they are not in perfect condition. There looks to be some rust stains throught both on the ribbon part and in the petitpoint area and also on the backs. There are also some some small holes show to the sconces. On the one in the center of the bouquet and the other has a very small slit in the front located directly through from the back of where the clip attaches and has rusted through(I have shown in the pictures. Hopefully someone in ebay land will know how to restore. I am ... moresure that the frames can be cleaned by those that know what they are doing. They measure 4 1/4" tall But there is more to the story. These wonderful shades along with some others that I will be listing this week were stored in an attic boxed up for many many decades and had been brought by the family to Indiana from California and were in the estate of the family that had loaned their furniture in the making of the film Gone With The Wind. I dought these were in the film there's no way to know that but the furniture was auctioned off a few years ago in California and I was told brought over $600,000.00 by the person I got these from. These must have never found their way into the auction since they were in the attic. These cute little shades probably have a name but I do not know what it is or if they were for tiny boudoir lamps or wall sconces. In any case to find so many different kinds and the fact they have any material on them at all is amazing. They are all so sweet and I just had to get them.
