Pair Antique Carved Wooden Sconces Peter Mansbendel Fruit Leaves Estate RARE Description This listing is for a gorgeous pair of hand-carved wooden floral sconces by master Swiss woodcarver. Peter Mansbendel(1883-1940) He was one of the most original and creative woodcarvers of the 20th century. The colors on the dark mahagony sconces are emerald green, burgundy, blue, yellow and white. They belonged to my grandparents and were one of several pieces that Mansbendel carved for them. I think that they were carved around 1935 when Mansbendel was living in Austin, Texas. Pair of antique ceramic ivory and gold wall sconces wall shelves, very old
This pair of sconces or wall shelves are very old and very unique. I have yet to find another that is even similar. I don't know their age but I do know they are very old and came from the Brookline home of a collector of fine antiques. There are signs of age but the pair are in remarkable condition. The glaze has crackled over time. At 11 inches from top to bottom and 7.5 inches wide. These sconces make a major statement. Hello. I removed this pair of outdoor copper lights from one of our project houses just last week. Both lights worked on the last day up. Check out the porcelain sockets and cloth wiring(should help date them) All the yellowish/amber glass panels are undamaged. Both are solid copper with exception of cast iron mounting bracket. Both might need a little solder at th top of copper panels where they attach to main bracket. Also a couple of the small screws have been replaced. This is a matching pair of wall sconces. Made by Radiant in New York. P293. Marked. The one has the right has been rewired and therefore the switches do not match exactly. The right one also has a small chip on the flare at the base of the light. Both have wiring attached. There is a large screw which was with them. Not really sure where that goes. These brackets are KILLERS! They are handmade& carved solid wood- date from the 1920's or perhaps before. Beautifully carved on three sides with gilded acathus leaf type motifs. Backs& shelf tops are medium dark brown. They are 9 1/2" top to bottom. The shelf is 7 1/4" wide and protrudes a bit over 5 1/2" from the wall. Came from a local estate- I just couldn't walk off and leave them! They are in excellent condition, original finish has only a very few, very small nicks- though I might nwant to suggest changing to more substantial hanging depending on your intended use. Pair of Antique Sconces~Cherubs~Angels~Putti~Need to be Rewired~Wood
These are very old sconces that are very unique to say the least. The base of the sconce(the part that attaches to the wall) are made of plaster and look to have wires coming out of the back at the bottom. I tried to wire these to an extension cord and they did not work. Not sure if you can rewire or not. But regardless these sconces are awesome the way they are now. There is a place to insert a small bulb at the top inside the flower-looking piece. On both sconces it looks like the bulb that was inserted at one time was way too hot and burned the paint but you could easily repaint this area. One of the angels appears to be made of wood and the other looks like it was made from plaster. Not sure of the maker- not marks that I could find. 4 pc set antique hammered cast iron electric wall sconces w/ satin glass shades
4 piece set of antique electric wall sconces. 1920's era in my estimation. Hammered effect cast iron with brass hardware and hand made satin glass shades with ruffled tops. Cast iron backs are 12 1/2" tall x 5 1/4" wide. I removed these from my grandmothers house when she died several years ago and I can tell you they are all good working. All in very good condition with no broken glass. Original braided wrap wiring is in very good condition. One of the thumb switches appears to have been replaced some time ago with a more modern style. One of the sconces is missing the original thumb dial on the switch but the switch is still working if you test it with one of the other dials. I'm sure you will be able to find another replacement thumb dial sooner or later on ebay or at a lamp parts store. Antique Pair French Foliate Bronze Mirror Back Single Light Sconces
A pair of bronze mirror back wall sconces. This pair was assembled- we bought one of the sconces at a New Jersey Auction and were very surprised to find a matching sconce a week later at a Pennsylvania flea market. There are minor differences- if you examine the pictures you will see that the switch keys are different and the turnings on the brass columns are also a bit different. One finish is a gilt bronze- the other is a polished bronze. Unless you install them side by side you should not really notice the difference. Lovely PAIR French Tole Sconces circa 1920. These were originally made for exterior use- consequently they show minor losses of paint. But are in VERY SOLID CONDITION with no losses which is great as they often lose the background leaves. They are usualyy found in the South of France. occasionally with no candle cups. I have several pairs and love them all- two pair are larger, one pair are smaller and mounted in pots with the candle cups across the rear and terminating across the top. These 3 antique wall sconces were removed from a home set for demolition. The candle looking sconce is 11" tall and 4 1/2" wide. The# 2151 is stamped on the back. There is a small black ceramic box that has Carling 1 amp 250v 3 amp 125v Cat. No 18. This appears to be cast iron. The pair that appear to be matching 8 1/2" tall and 5" wide. One has a decoration around the bulb part and one doesn't. They appear to be stamped tin. I am including a small box of parts that came with them. Not sure that they all belong with them though. Antique Victorian or Art Deco Light Fixtures - Chandeliers and Sconces W/ Shades
This is an extremely rare find- a complete set of matching early 1900s light fixtures in amazing condition with ALL of the glass shades and NO chips in any of them! The lights could be considered Art Deco or Victorian or would even work in an Art Nouveau interior. I believe they are early 1900s- possibly 1910 or so. There are 2 chandeliers and 2 sconces. The chandeliers are about 18" high and wide. The sconces are about 8" high. They are very heavy. The chandeliers weigh about 20 pounds each. They are in beautiful condition. One of the chandeliers has very minor surface rust that I'm sure could be polished off pretty easily. The other fixtures have no rush whatsoever. They have not been rewired. Up for auction is this pair(2) of LARGE Vintage Bronze/Brass French Louis XVI Style Wall Sconces. They were purchased in France in the late 1970s and rewired about 15 years ago. They were installed in my old home and I have moved- thought I would use them but have gone more modern! So my lovely lights can now be yours! They feature ribbons. Swags, urns and floral accents. They are in excellent condition given their age and would look lovely in a tradtional, Franch or even a Hollywood Regency style decor. They measure approx. 23" long x 10" wide x 7" projection. They have 3 candle lights each and could be outfitted with shades if desired. They are truly stunning and won't disappoint you. Circa 1910-1920, with triangular bronze frame and two bronze candle arms, featuring clear cut or molded glass inserts with checkerboard design, and clear glass drip pans with etched designs. Each has modern wiring and is ready for use. Each measures 14" wide and 14" tall. The bronze frames have a repeating lotus flower motif. The candle arms have the form of a single flower stalk with leaves, and end in curling scrolls with rosettes at the ends. There is an old repair to a crack through the glass on one sconce which can be seen in our images. The top and bottom edges of the glass have been ground down and smoothed, and the top of one sconce has a small loss which has not been ground.
