vintage antique brass sconces electified made in Germany. The part that goes against the wall appears to be solid brass. This part is 10" tall. I was told this was originally a pair of candle sconces. And each was wired for electricity. We tested them and they work fine. They have to be wired to the electricity in a wall, and a switch has to be added. A wax-like substance was used to hold the wire and candlesticks in place(see pix 4 and 5) The bracket as shown in pic 6 is marked Germany. The bracket is missing from the other sconce. These are elegant and if you know how to install(and add a bracket to one) You will have a lovely set of sconces. If you watch the soap opera. Up for auction is a set of five antique clear glass bell shaped ceiling fan. Lamp, wall sconce, light fixtures, lamp shades. These shades are a crystal clear glass. Bell shape that has a flared opening. The top opening of the shades have a beaded trim. These are about 1920-30s Depression Glass Shades. The opening of these shades has a pretty beaded design. This trimmed beading varies in size and is not an exact perfect beaded edge. As with depression glass. Sometimes glass pieces are irregular in size and shape. These shades have that very unique characteristic to them. Shades are in good pre-owned condition. With only slight roughness to few of them on outside seam of shade. The last picture shows the worst of this. These shades are a heavy glass and resemble industrial lighting shades. They are small. But could have been used for outdoor ... morelight fixtures. This auction is for 4 antique c.1910(possibly older) cast iron wall sconces that just were pulled from an old Victorian estate in Chestnut Hill Boston. They are really beautiful. They still have the original GE sockets in them. They measure 9" high X 5 1/4" wide and when on the wall they come out 6 1/2" You just don't find these old cast iron sconces anymore with this great patina and craftsmanship. Each sconce features a round bronze backplate with a substantial beaded arm projecting from its center. I believe these glass votive cups. That feature a raised divot-like/bubble design on the interior, are original to these brass sconces. Very few flaws for handmade soldered tin and crimped wax catchers. Excellent condition for the age of these Americana Concave wall candle holders.
