READ BEFORE BIDDING SOLD AS IS! These lights are like a work of art. The paper that surrounds the light looks like melting candle wax giving it a nice touch, they will need a new cord but even if you don`t fix them they make a great decorative piece. They may need a new light socket as well. Their overall condition is great, no major marks or dents. I believe these were made between the year 1926 through 1935. They are made of brass and the cord(what is left of it) is cloth insulated which shows how old they are. The company that made them was Alcor, they were made in Chicago United States, light says it uses 660W/250V. The Pat. number is 1690693. All four lights have the same pat number. I believe they have the original switch. It looks like the back will need cleaned but I am not sure the best way to clean it so I will leave that up to ... moreyou. You get all four lights. I compared them to a ruler so you can see their size, they are quite heavy so they will probably be sent standard shipping which takes 1 to 6 days. Excellent and very rare. At some point, someone electrified the bronze sconces as there are holes drilled in the back. But this has been removed and is back to the original non-electrified state. Stately and of excellent quality, we have not seen anything like these. This is from the estate of a collector of fine European antiques. And marked RIddle on back, and on candle cups, and even on the hardware to attach it to the house- also dated, Feb 1915. They are cast aluminum. Polychrome, and have been repainted, and then antiqued, professionally to match their original color scheme. A satin clear coat finishes them. The color is a champagne, which is sort of a gold-ish pewter color. HIghlights are green and red. THEY ARE NOT GLOSSY, and should not be. None of these type ever had glossy paint. Antique Restored Beige Porcelain Sconces for bathroom. Original Levolier sockets
Antique porcelain bathroom sconces light I removed removed from my c1930 home in New Orleans. These were cleaned and rewired at a antique shop here locally several years ago. They have never been reinstalled. The sockets are original vintage Levolier parts with porcelain handles that fit over their switches. Which are located at the bottom of the sconce. They both work perfectly and have a firm"snap" when you pull/push them. They also include(what I assume) are their original, removable socket extenders which allow you to use shallow base bulbs which will not clear the porcelain of the sconce. They fit flush with the sconce and appear to have been made to go along with them. The receptacles were disabled many years ago and are no longer active. They have a lovely satin soft ivory patina and the flowers are bright and crisp and not ... moresurface painted. They are part of the glaze of the sconce. They looked beautiful with the ivory tile that was in my home but alas, the tile is gone, as is the house, so the lights are not needed now. I always hoped I'd have a place to install them but I'm too old to be renovating anymore so these hopefully will find a new home. These sconces include standard sized brackets for either octagonal. Up for sale is this fantastic pair of solid brass or bronze candelabra wall sconces. I believe these are antique sconces with a more modern wiring. As you can see there is a lot of wear and some spots where there is the green corrosion setting in on the surface. Also these have not been tested for function, so I am selling them as a parts or repair project. Each is stamped with either a letter C or G in a diamond on the back, I am not familiar with this mark. The plates measure about 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" About 12 3/4" across at the widest, 8 1/4" tall total to the top of the brass lip, not including the hardware. There is a small 1/16 chip at the top left side of one of the brass rims, highly unlikely you would notice it while it's hanging, but you will notice it when you inspect them up close. What a find! Architectural salvage at its finest! This is a pair of very rare french antique sconces. They read Villiers Praslin Aube. Think they were made in a small commune town of only 60 people! Pulled of an New Orleans historical registered house in the french quarters district. Made of terra cotta I believe. Looks like someone added hangers at a later date to the back of them for display. Very heavy and old. I'm not an expert on these. But had an antique dealer come and look at them and he said they were authentic. The candle holders could have been added later on but not sure. Antique Brass Mirrored Wall Sconces for Candles - early 1900's
Handsome pair of antique candle sconces with rectangular beveled mirrors and 2 candle holders for each sconce. Top of each depicts oval shield with a lion on each side and scrolling throughout is ornate. There are extra disks for the candle holders for catching wax and the reflecting candle light is really pretty when the candles are lit. These sconces hung in my aunt's home for years and as a little girl. Admiring the candle light, I was told they were antiques from Europe. Since I'm now 70 yrs old I'm guessing these were from the early 1900's. As happens with old mirrors, there are a few dark spots and an area along the right side and corner where the mirror has begun to loose its silvering. I've tried to show these in the photos. There is missing gold leaf on both of the tops, but the gold leafing could easily be replaced on them, if so desired. Pair 2 Brass Torchiere Candle Wall Sconces w Hurricane Glass Shades Antique
Selling a beautiful pair of antique brass candlestick wall sconces. Likely dating to the second half of the 19th century. These are torchiere sconces that fit flush on the wall with the lighting torch part angled away. The lead photo shows the angle, and both sconces are identical. These sconces have their original, hand-blown, acid-etched hurricane shades, each etched with a grapes-and-leaves motif, and both shades have a"cranberry stain" along their top rim. Everything here is in great shape. Complete, and all original. The glass shades alone are 9.5" high by 6" across, and their brass base fittings are 1.5" across. Fully assembled each sconce is 17.5" tall on the wall, so these really make a statement, look at me!
