What we have here. Is a Super Cool Set of 3, Antique Ornate Original Russell and Irwin, Cast Bronze Two-Knuckle, Projecting Butt Door Hinges with Steeple Tips. Each one is Shiny Clean and Hand Rubbed with Renaissance Microcrystalline Wax. All hinges are in excellent condition. They have loose pins and steeples, although one of the steeple tip is broken off. I have a nice lot of old brass icebox hinges and latches with catches for your consideration. 5 hinges. Two catches and two latches. The handles on the latches are cast brass. There is a left and a right catch and latch. The right latch is a flush catch and the left latch is an offset which looks like a 1/4 inch. They have quite a bit of character I am guessing they came off a side by side double door chest. Nice for reuse on a number of different possiblities for your next project or renovation. Hinges look to have a 3/8 inch offset and all operate smoothly for reuse. Vintage Antique Hoosier Cabinet Hinges, latches Lot 2
This is the second lot of mostly Hoosier hinges and latches. I can tell you this lot is from the same bucket as the first lot. I did not seperate them. I actually just pulled stuff out and put them onto two seperate lots. There are other items in with the hoosier items. I am not sure what they went to. This is a lot from a gentleman that used to restore antique furniture. Some is all original, some is reproduction. These are used, and are as found. There could be dings, dirt, tarnish, paint etc on these items. Some maybe broke, or bent. I really don't know too much about these items. This is lot 1 of two lots of mostly Hoosier hinges. Latches, and handles. Some are Sellers some are Hoosier, some are Boone and I am sure probably some are other companies that made a form of the Hoosier Cabinet. I would say most of this is all Hoosier items, I have seen some other hinges, and I am not sure what they came from. These Hoosier hinges, actually have sold on here between 10.00 to 30.00 some for one item, some for 6 items. Great project for someone who knows Hoosiers to piece it out. Beautiful antique/vintage jewelry box.I bought this box at an auction and the auctioneer never mentioned what kind of wood it was only said it was made in the philippines so I really have no idea.If I had to guess I would say that the outside is oak.Needs to be cleaned! I dont know what the inlayed wood carvings are.Im guessing the outside is oak because it only stands about 8 1/2 inches tall but weighs 6 pounds.The carving on the left hand side is a woman washing clothes in a wash tub with a hut and palm tree in the back ground.The carving on the right is a water bufallo with a hut and palm tree in the back ground. The words"MOTHER" are carved on the top. These are in good condition with rust and pitting with almost all of it found on the back side. These were brass plated but now most of that is long gone. The spots of bass left and the age darkened area’s gives these a rather unique look. These are very heavy duty and will handle most doors. These solid bass pins remove rather easily but you still should follow a few precautions. Because these have solid ... morebrass pins so you should not use a screwdriver under the pin top to remove them but rather us a flatted nail or better yet a punch to push the pin out from the bottom. You also should not use a hammer to strike the pin top directly but rather use a piece of wood positioned on the top of the pin before hitting it. I do have more sets just like these listed but with much less rust and pitting on the back side. Please check out all my other vintage and antique hinges I have listed. Oil has been applied but they should have a final cleaning and clear coated or painted for continued protection. Please take a look at the many other antique hardware items I have listed. Antique Split Willow Fishing Creel Basket Leather Hinges
This antiques fishing creel has a dark patina that has come from years of use. It is a fine tightly-weaved split-willow basket fastened to an interestingly shaped bottom. The back side of the bottom has a nice curve to it. It measures 11" wide x 7.5" deep x 9" high.The hinges and the closure are both leather. The closure works like this: the leather strap goes over a wire loop and then the clip fastens through the loop. This is a primitive arrangement but I cannot see that there ever was any other closure. It has one break in one piece of the willow on the top edge of one side as shown in the pictures. Vintage Antique Brass Door Handle Steeple Hinges Knocker Door Stop Hardware
This is a group of vintage brass hardware. There is a really nice old solid brass door handle. It is about 11" long. It does have an old lock on it that just needs to be cut off with some bolt cutters. The old steeple hinges were made by National Mfg. One is 4" and the others are 3 1/2" There are also 2 Hager hinges that measure 4" There is one brass door knocker and one old brass door stop that is spring loaded.
