Handle: 1-1/2" dia. Face: 2-1/2"w x 1-5/8" h. FRED KRONER. Hardware merchant; was a native of Wurtemberg, Germany. He came to America in 1854 and started his business in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1856. It was very prevalent, and products sold by KRONER HARDWARE were stamped with THIS VERY IRON. Sikes leather closed in 2011 due to the current owner entering retirement. Walking into the shop itself was like stepping back in time. Much of the machinery was antique and primitive. Some even medieval looking, and much of it was still being used. I purchased a large cabinet containing modern cutting dies and a few of these old irons were found buried in the back of it. As for pricing this. Mounted with original bold and screw hardware. Screws are about 4-1/4" deep. Designed to mount into the exterior house wall at the edge of the shutter, holding it in place by overlapping the edge, keeping the shutter flat and in place- they could be pivoted up so that a shutter could be secured closed- this was standard architectural hardware on most older homes. Bearing old paint which was probably red originally, it has faded and softened with age to a rosy pink. We're not sure of the age of this cabinet or what kind of wood it is. It has been painted at some point but it looks like it's been a while. It has some chips. Colorado APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: Height: 25” Length: 36” Depth(front to back) 21” This is a wonderful antique flat top steamer trunk made by Dethloff& Son of Denver. Colorado around the late 1800’s or may be the very early 1900’s. This trunk is clad in metal with wood slats. Decorative embossed gold hardware and canvas straps. The metal banding was used to strengthen them and for decorative design. All the hardware appears to be original. I have not tried to clean it, because some people prefer the original patina. I’ll let you make that decision! Sorry, but, I do not have the key for the lock. The last picture shows the ... moreunderneath(bottom) Three(3) of the four(4) steel casters are still attached. Considering its age. I would say it’s in very nice condition. This trunk was used for its intended purpose. Note the stickers on the side. I’ll let the pictures do my description for you. You can see that the side leather handles are missing or torn. Also, one of the front canvas straps(right side in pictures) is torn in half, but, it’s still intact. The inside does have some spots, but, there is no odor. It’s rare to find the inside tray, but, it’s all complete. The next to the last picture shows a dent on the front top metal band. Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing.
