It's creation is estimated to be pre 1930 when thrifty women were using feed sacks as their primary source of material. It is completely handsewn with the traditional ruffled edge in hues of raspberry. Pink, green and ivory. There are no tears, rips, stains or fading. This is an antique(not sure of the age) Martha Washington cabinet which was beautifully hand-painted and then distressed to enhance the romantic garden/cottage style. I don't know its history. I bought it as it appears now and have used it for a few years as a storage cabinet. It seems to have had a knob for the middle storage area at one time; there's a small hole where one could be attached. The piece has a wobble but I checked the legs and they are firmly attached. CHERISH EACH DAY& ALL WILL BE OK This vintage flower garden quilt top is probably from the 1930's. has a vibrant medium green background. It measures 62" by 78" to the edges, with 1.5" hexagons. Quarter sections are shown, to see the fabrics better. It looks like all cotton to me. There is hand stitching at 5-8 spi, mostly with thick white thread. The flower centers are yellow, a couple have some age discoloration. It has been washed& lays flat. There are no flaws seen, but there could be something small missed. There are no odors. Here for your consideration is an antique ARTS CRAFTS MISSION OAK plant stand. This measures 17 1/4" tall and is 12" square at the top. The legs are tapered and splay out making the base 10 1/2" square. This is constructed of solid oak and features cut-out sides and a scalloped top. There is a slight split to the top that was repaired and really only noticeable from underneath. The piece is otherwise in good sturdy condition with all other wear reflective of age and use. Hi. You are bidding on a beautiful needlepoint from the 1920's. There is lots of information about the history of this needlepoint from the fragile handwritten note on the back. You can see from the pictures that the paper is ripped in some areas. But you can still read the story as it is written. The story goes something like this. Oh, by the way.the needlepoint embroidery is in wonderful condition and has been protected in this oriiginal frame for almost 100 years. Back to the story.It mentions that this was done in 1925 or 1926 and lists the person who made it. It was a Christmas present. Mother was in Newueau(sp? Hospital fighting for her life against infection of her right index finger which had been pierced by a quail bone as she cleaned it on Thanksgiving after my Father Noble I. Nesbitt and R. Wm. In five days was taken to Hospital.finally index finger had to be removed. Over fear of losing arm at that she rebelled and vowed never.Returned home in January. I think that is the idea-I am piecing the last part together.you can see the writing in the photographs) There is a quote that as this person visited her she laughed that it was the first time she had not hung her stocking for Christmas.
