Antique Solid Curved Glass Display Counter with rear sliding doors "1880's
Very old from information that I have gathered it is from the 1880's. In the day. This was a looker. Remarkable shape for it's age. Grandpa's country store is gone and this is for sale. Has been in storage for over 30 years. The top is a solid(one piece) glass that measures 98 1/4" long and 22" wide. The front piece of glass measures the same length as the top however, it is curved. Counter stands 40" tall. Inside is a shelf that measures 12" wide and is made up of 4 pieces on an adjustable shelving bracket. In the front is one piece of curved glass. In the back are four wooden sliding doors that are 2' wide and 19" tall with finger holes. One of these doors is missing a board about 19" in height. Under the sliding doors to the right are two drawers that measure 23 1/4" wide and about 3 5/8" ... moredeep. To the left of the two drawers is a opening that is 63" long, 16" deep and 7 1/2" in height. The glass shows wear scratches, but no breakage in the glass. On the bottom under the curved part to the back corner shows some slight damage but it is mostly to the bottom edging. As far as the wood is concerned I think that it is Mahogany, but I am not positive. It could be cherry. Items inside case do not sell. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Please view all photos. Very nice pair of Antique Shabby. Chippy paint Cabinet or Cupboard Doors. Great for Repurposing, Decor or Display. These doors measure 35 1/4 inches high by 20 1/8 inches wide. They have the original hinges and glass knobs and I would estimate them easily at over 100 years old. There are several old layers of paint on the doors both front and back, mostly green, grey and white as well as bare wood coming through. A great set of doors. I have remodeled a 1920's Quadplex and in the process removed all the interior doors. I believe they are the original hardwood doors and are antique/vintage. They are all solid wood. They have been painted numerous times over the years and need to have the paint stripped off and probably need to be sanded down and refinished. Some of the doors have glass door knobs. Some have metal door knobs, some are missing the door knobs completely. There are varying sizes(I have complied a list below with the door sizes and approximate weight of each door below) I was only able to post 12 pictures for this auction, but I have a picture of every door that is the subject matter of this auction. This gorgeous armoire has beveled original glass mirrored double doors that lock with the original key. Everything is original-nothing is reproduction or replacement. A very rare find and nearly impossible to find this exceptional quality and condition in Birdseye Maple! Beautiful birdseye textures and floral carvings; inside are 3 adjustable shelves with many variations available with the built in bracket racks. Have yourself a huge piece of US history! This 63 door unit measures 43.5 inches tall by 32.75 wide and at the top is 8.75 inches deep and the bottom for the bigger boxes is 13 inches deep. I am unsure of the age of this mail box unit. All doors say U S on them. Have 2 dials with letters, no numbers, for combinations. The front of all of the doors also say PATENT, but no year. This is 100% original! 40 of the small doors all have Beveled glass windows in them measuring about 2.5 x.5 inches, the other 14 small doors are missing the glass. 3 of the 6 medium size doors have beveled glass windows measuring 2 x 2.5. You are considering an antique primitive solid walnut mercantile cupboard complete with sliding double doors. Two bin doors, three bins and shelves with plate groves. The sugar bin used to be lockable, but the lock is long gone. It is a beautiful piece. It is solid, heavy and quite unique. It is the nicest piece I have come across in a long time. Based on information from a friend who I consider to be a expert, I date this piece from the 1810s or 1820s. It may have been refinished at some point many, many years ago. You are bidding on a set of wood bifold doors. They are from the 1970s and as far as we can tell are solid wood. The doors are louvered and have lion head pulls for opening. They are a darker wood stain but could be refinished or painted. They are structurally sound and have no problems other than a few scuffs and light scratches from use. The side trim and track are included. The actual size of each door is 29-1/2 x 79-1/2" Due to the size and weight they are for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. 5 antique redwood doors
I bought these doors at an estate sale and the person I bought them from told me they're redwood. On a couple of the pics you can see bare wood on the door edges and it looks reddish. However I'm no wood identification expert so there's a slim chance they could be douglas fir or some other type of wood. The doors are dirty and are in need of a new paint job or better yet they could be stripped down and varnished. That would bring out the true beauty of these doors. I didn't notice any rotton wood or termite damage on them but I can't guarantee there isn't any damage especially where I can't see like under the paint. Here is a very handsome and seven foot tall Empire Revival period solid mahogany bookcase with some gorges figured and feathered veneer. The arched original glass doors add an elegant touch. Open the doors and find a grain painted interior with three adjustable shaped shelves. The base contains two deep hand dovetailed drawers with original wooden pulls. The"case" or the top section is also dovetailed construction. This bookcase has the nice rounded edges and the simple crown with the lovely figured veneer. Pr. Antique Amethyst/Clear Glass Entry Doors From Boston Brownstone Redo Vintage
Listing this evening a fantastic entranceway double door with one awesome original amethyst glass panel and one clear glass panel removed from a Back Bay of Boston Brownstone building back in the 1970's and stored ever since. For those of you unfamiliar with this type of door system. The door on the left is usually opened to gain entry. The door on the right is generally held closed with latches on the top and bottom and not opened except to bring in large pieces of furniture or other large items. The condition is excellent for doors of this age. The original brass mail slot disappeared when it was removed from the building. The doors are 83 1/4" tall and 1 3/4" thick. In the pictures it appears that one door is taller than the other but that is not the case. They are an original matched pair, I just couldn't get them to ... morestand up correctly in the snow. The door on the left is 27 3/4" wide and the door on the right is 28" wide. If you are restoring an old house these might be just the items to make a grand entranceway. The outside is a dark gray with great panels and the interior is peeling white over original varnish) The original dark amethyst privacy panel is approximately 14 1/2" x 39 1/2" and has a pebbly surface. NOTE: After listing the doors for sale I discovered a 1 1/2" crack on the side of the amethyst glass panel when I was doing a final cleaning.the glass is very old and grainy with many lines so the crack isn't obvious until you inspect it very carefully. These are great looking complete doors with a beautiful aged shellac(varnish) patina and finish. The ends mate properly. Therefore there is no warping. The upper portion of the mating ends on both doors will need to be replaced(I can provide the lumber) due to fire damage(see pictures) This is a simple fix by removing the old ends and using a new applied molding. This only needs done on the mating ends on the top 1/3 of the door and all else on the doors are complete and intact and ready for installation. Such as oyster shucking plant, lumber, brewery and lamp factory as the last one in the 1980's. They measure 2 3/4" thickness) x 38" width) x 76' 79" length) The top is angled. Weight approx. 300 lbs. each door. Unfortunately only one hanging bracket is available and still attached to one door. They are made of solid wood covered with metal sheeting and could be used as a decorative element or interior door without actual fire code requirements. Good conditions. These came out of the Apple Valley Inn. The Inn was in business from about 1948 to about 1988. When the guys went in to clean it up after it sold to the head trauma place they renovated, so we bought the swinging doors from one of the guys. He was a high school buddy of my husbands. We have had these for about 25 years. I would like to sell the house and move. But I need to sell all the trinkets, historical items, and this is very historical. These doors have been touched by many celebrities such as Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and many more.
