Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage Art Deco Door Set w/Glass Knobs. Plates Lock, Key. Exquisite. Vintage lockset made during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 glass knobs w/brass shanks, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. The plates still retain some of their original brass plating, but much of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. All parts were painted, dirty, and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. Antique Bronze/Brass Door Knobs(2 1/4" diam. Bronze plates( 5 1/4" x 1 3/4" I believe they were made by FC Linde Co. Cresskill N.J. 1895. But I am not absolutely sure of that. These have been removed from a home that was built in the 1890's, and they maintain their vintage patina. A couple have paint on them, but the majority are not. A couple of the plates are slightly bent. Included: Matching mortise, knobs, spindle, side plates, strike plate and mounting screws. These are being sold as shown in the pictures, so please take a look at the numerous pictures showing these items. Each set may not be exactly perfect, but they are all really pretty nice, and came off of working doors inside the house they were in. Remember, they are over 110 years old! These backplates measure 2.5" wide and 9.75" tall and are stamped on back Y&T and 11481. Absolutely stunning. I no longer have a use for them. They are cast bronze and have a beautiful patina. The pattern is a classic egg& dart around the border of the plates. I believe they date from the late 1800's to early 1900's. They appear to be somewhat Edwardian in style.

This is a hard-to-find Victorian Eastlake design by P.F. Corbin. This is the"Canton" design. c1905. Very ornate. This is a pressed steel plate with bronze plating. The bronze plating is now warmly distressed. Condition is very good. No cracks or breakage. No chips. No paint. No rust to the face. But there is miniscule oxidation on reverse. No bending or warping. Design is crisp and clean. Door knob collars are nice and round(no bends/chips) key holes are clean without rips or tears. Measure 5 1/2" tall. They are 1 7/8" wide. They are made of solid steel and have beveled edges. Originally. The plates were brass plated, however, much of the brass wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. The plates were found dirty and very rusty(see last photo) Since then. We've cleaned, oiled, and polished them to the best of our ability. This hardware was recovered during a 1984 renovation of the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago.The hotel was built in 1927 and was called the Stevens. This is the original hardware.The knobs and escutchions are solid brass and have a few dings in them but are in good condition considering age and use.There are two types of escutchions included.The bell shaped escuchion was used on the outside of the guestroom door.The button would be pressed by the maid to indicate if the lock deadbolt was thrown and the guest was still in the room Knobs are 2-1/2"in diameter. Pair of antique bronze thumb latch handles and backing plates. I believe these would have been a set for double doors. Handle#1(offset to the right) Nice overall condition with no cracks or breaks. There are 5 mounting holes. The down side to this one is the thumb latch part. It is not original. Somewhere along the way it was replaced with an iron one. But it is still in very functional condition. On the back of the plate the handle is held on with 2 rivites.Slight bending along the length of the plate. Gorgeous brass door knob and back plate set…and two complete sets! Only missing a few set screws. Fabulous back plates with has scrolled elements at the top. Bottom, and both sides. These elegant knobs have a matching scrolled pattern around a central oval button. I started polishing one set intending to install it in 2004. But we moved before I had a chance to finish and get them installed. The back plate is all brass, but has polishing compound that I did not clean up. It will all polish up to a beautiful brass patina. My plan was to find a set for each of our doors. And I had actually found a similar oval set that I am listing…please see my other listings. These are in fantastic shape with only a little rust on the steel spindles and collar. Also. One of the center knobs has some green around the back seam…it should polish out. Not sure if the threads on the glass knob were stripped or not. Currently has a bolt holding it to the shaft but the threads appear to match; seems to be as originally made but will need the set bolt for tightening on the shaft if used. One of the brass nobs has been soldered; the loose knobs do not have the set bolts in them;The knobs with the back plates is fully functional; it has a non key lock which still works. All are in very good condition with only some minor wear that is consistant with their age. The spindles though do have a little rust on the ends, this can be viewed in the last picture. Antique Victorian Eastlake Bronze Entry Door Lockset Set Knobs Plates Lock Keys
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique RHC Eastlake Entry Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Keys Wonderful. Antique, exterior door lockset made by the"Reading Hardware Company" of Reading, Pennsylvania during the late 1800's. The set includes 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumb turn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate and 2 working keys, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid bronze not plated iron. The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a right or left swing door. All bronze parts have lovely. Aesthetic(Eastlake) style designs consisting of flowers, leaves, wagon-wheels, beads, and various geometric shapes. We found the parts with a rich. Original patina, which we opted not ... moreto disturb. If you prefer your hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish all parts prior to shipping for an additional $25-email us after the auction if you're interested. The base of one of the knobs is slightly pushed into the back of the knob. As a result. The knob is 1/8" shorter than the other, and there is a shallow, circular depression(see close up photo of knobs) Once installed, the only way you could see the depression is by pressing your head against the door and looking behind the knob, so it will be pretty hard to notice unless you're looking for it. There are a few small. Dents on the strike plate, but otherwise, all parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, gouges, or deep scratches. The details are sharp and show few signs of wear. The lock was opened, inspected, and greased to function more smoothly. We made 2 keys to operate the lock, and we could make more for $8/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. It's tough to find complete. Antique sets in such fantastic condition. Penn Antique Restoration. 1889 Arabic Bronze Interior Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Spectacular set made by“Mallory& Wheeler Company” circa 1889. The set consists of 2 knobs. 2 escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze face plate and 1 working key, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All parts except for the key, spindle, screws, and lock body are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze—not flimsy, stamped/pressed bronze or plated iron. We didn't include a strike plate for the door jamb because we didn't have any ornate strikers that matches up with the lock. However. If you don't mind a plain, bronze/brass strike plate, you could buy one from us for an extra $10- email us after the auction if you are interested. The set feature’s MWC’s very popular“Arabic” pattern. All parts have a sand dune motifs and one or more Arabic ... morewords. The set was removed from a door that we salvaged from Northern NJ in 2008. The set was very clean at that time(see last 2 photos) But has since developed a patina. Some parts have more patina than others. Antique Heavy Duty Cast Bronze Exterior Entry Door Lockset Knobs Plates Lock
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Cast Bronze Door Set w/Knobs Plates. Lock. Heavy-duty. Commercial-grade hardware made by, The J.B. Schroder Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio sometime during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 bronze mortise cylinder with a bronze anti-theft collar, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not flimsy stamped bronze or plated iron. The lock is not reversible. And it could only accommodate a door that swings away from the room/building, towards the right. If your door swings towards the left, you could still install this set, but you would have to install it upside down, with the knobs on top, and cylinder ... moremortise on the bottom. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the top button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the top button. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who could rekey it for under $20. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. When we salvaged the set. The long, thin bolt which inserts into the lock through the small hole above the latches on the faceplate of the lock, to secure the cylinder mortise, was missing. We found one in our collection of parts, but it's a bit short and will require a thin, flathead screwdriver to fit through the hole and turn the bolt until it re
