The key-to-lock holes are the same for both: a standard 3" They have the same design but one is larger. I assume that the longer one goes on the outside of a front door and the smaller one goes on the inside of the same door. I wrap well and send fast. My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. This lock set was salvaged from a turn of the century home in the Northeast. It features a Mortise lock ... morewith primitive simple style back plates and wood doorknobs. This was covered in layer upon layer of paint and I have done my best to get most of it off but just as a note there is pitting on the metal. The dimensions are as follows: back plates:5 3/8" by 1 5/8" lock case: 3 5/8" length. 3 3/16" depth(including face plate) 1/2" width faceplate: 5 3/16" by 7/8" backset: 2 5/16" The shipping and handling are free. And the middle lock part, which is all rusted out. Everything is joined together. A person may be able to remove the middle lock part and clean the doorknobs and plates and you would have a nice looking Victorian doorknobs set. The designs on the knobs and plates are neat looking. Measurement: knobs are about 2.25 inches wide. One full key plate is about 1.5" x 5" and the other is half way broken off. Contents: 1888 cast iron skeleton Key lock door knobs and one complete key plate and one half broken key plate with Victorian designs. All joined together. Condition: the middle lock part is pretty well rusted out. But the doorknobs and plates are not really rusted, but rather, they ... moreare dirty and needs cleaning. Antique 1890's Commercial Bronze Exterior Entry Door Lockset Knobs Plates Lock
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Brass Door Set Knobs Plates Lock& Strikeplate. Distressed. Heavy-duty, commercial grade hardware made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT around the 1890's. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 brass mortise cylinder with a brass anti-theft collar, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with a setscrew and a securing pin. All brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass, not stamped brass or plated iron. Since this set was used for commercial installation. It was designed to be strong and secure. The exterior knob is permanently affixed to the spindle with a securing pin. Once the knob is mounted on the escutcheon, the tall collar of the plate bars access to the pin. The only way you could access the pin is by ... moreloosening the screw and removing the knob on the other side of the door. The lock is not reversible. And it could only accommodate a door that swings into a home, towards the left. If your door swings in the other direction, you could still install this set, but you would have to install it upside down, with the knobs on top, and cylinder mortise on the bottom. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the top button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the bottom button. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who could rekey it for under $20. The set was made by“P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT around the turn of the century. It consists of 2 glass knobs with brass shanks, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. The escutcheons are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast brass. The majority of glass knobs are faceted; these have a rare. Round, concentric design. Originally, they were colorless, but years of exposure to the sun’s UV rays caused a chemical reaction with the magnesium in the glass to produce a lovely amethyst color-what a great accent! Restoration: At the point of salvage. ... moreSome parts were painted, and all were dirty and heavily tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished the brass to the best of our ability. The lock was opened. Inspected, and greased to operate more smoothly. We made a key to operate it and could make more for $8/key- let us know after the auction if you are interested. Quirks: The shanks of the knobs are slightly loose. If you hold the glass portion with one hand. And the brass shank with the other and attempt to turn it; it will turn about 1/32" 1/64" From experience, I know that even if you turn as hard as you could in attempt to completely detach the shank(base) from the knob, you will sooner break the knob than detach the base or cause more looseness. This happens naturally, over time, to all glass knobs and is not a serious concern. We mentioned it so that you're not surprised and worried when you receive your hardware. Antique Huge Russwin Metal Door Knobs Plates and Locking Mechanism
This is a great old set of door knobs with the plates and locking mechanism. I don't know what kind of metal they are made of. They obviously adorned a huge door of some beautiful old home years ago. The plates are 11 inches in length and 3 inches wide at the widest point. The locking mechanism is a little under 6 inches tall and about 3.75 inches deep. There is a key in the lock but I haven't verified the working condition since they whole thing turns when the key is turned. The set is really dirty and needs a good cleaning. You will find normal rubs and dings that would be expected from years and years of use but nothing that distracts from the appearance. Let me know if you have any questions at all.
