Does have a stamp on the back of a name/signature and numbers but I cant make the name out but looks as if starts with a B and the number looks like RD 798010. Looks as if at some time someone has put gold gilt on the knocker but a lot of this has now rubbed off. Still in original as found condition with aged patina so would benefit from a polish if so desired but still in very good condition. Measure approx: Just over 7 1/2in total length. English Antique Bronze Door Knocker, Modeled as West Door of Bath Abbey, c.1903
The west door was donated as part of the reconstruction in 1611 after the original door was destroyed during the"Dissolution of the Monasteries" by King Henry VIII in 1539. During the reconstruction. The west door of Bath Abbey was carved courtesy of Lord Chief Justice Sir Henry Montagu. The Montagu coat of arms is prominent on the doors along with the Latin inscription: Ecce quam bonum et quam jucundum est. Behold how good and pleasing it is. This superb doorknocker measures 3 5/8" high by 1 7/8" wide and is cast from solid bronze. On the back of the'T' arm that affixes to the door is the maker's mark. GH' and a number which is, sadly, unreadable. On the back of the door itself is the cast-in legend. RD 397377' that being a UK Patent Office-issued registered design number that was allocated in 1903. ... moreThe knocker has one flaw. Rare Antique Goat Head Cast Iron Door Knocker
Offered for sale is this rare antique cast iron goat head door knocker. There is a small chipping off on the lower part at the left side tip. Please see pictures#7, 8& 9, otherwise, it is in excellent condition. It measures 11"tall x 2-3/4"wide x 2-1/8"deep. It is heavy and weighs 1 lb 13 oz. The door knock did not come with a strike plate and missing the screw. The door knocker is probably designed for iron door/gate. It mounts on the door using a 1/4"D screw. It is easy to find this screw at hardware shop. The maker's name is on the underside of the knocker, please see picture#9, but I can't make it out. It is an old piece but don't know the age. The door knocker is in good shape and functioning well.

Up for bid is a nice old Forged Brass Door Knocker No. 0100 with Antique Satin Brass produced by the Baldwin Hardware MFG Crop in Reading. PA U.S.A. This is a nice heavy solid piece that comes with the original box. And two mounting screws. It has not been installed before. It measures 6.25 inches long and 3 inches wide. Overall it's a nice looking knocker, but there are some tarnish spots on the front of it. Since I don't believe brass is supposed to rust, it shouldn't be rust. Primitive Antique Heavy Brass Door Knocker I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! Oh. This one has character to share! The person that I purchased it from told me it was thought to date back to the 1800s and by the looks of it, I don't doubt that. It's a solid brass door knocker that is oh-so-wonderfully primitive. You wouldn't know it's brass except for some very small peaks, and I did make a small scratch on the back side to check. You can see that the knocker has had several generations(lots peeling and chipping) of paint- I see(or think I do, it's ... morehard to tell for sure) brown, black, green(hard to tell if that's old paint, or oxidation- see what you think in my photos) and silver- that you can clearly see from the backside. At first, I though because of the weight that it might be bronze- it weighs 1 1/4 lbs, but I see a brass, not a copper color in the scratch that I made. It measures 6" by 4 1/4" by 1 1/4" deep and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There hardware attaching the knocker is rusty, so you have to push just a little to make it knock(not a lot, just a little) and the knocker is very dirty and needs a good bath. Victorian Door Knocker This is a wonderful. Original, door knocker, featuring what I assume to be the God Apollo, swinging on the end of the knocker, gazing into the distance. It was made in the Victorian era, c1890's. It was created by the famous foundary of Kenrick& Sons. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PICTURES The knocker has an integral fixing/sounding plate. Complete with its original bolts, one nut won't move. The whole piece measures a total length of 8.5 inches(22cm) It is Kenrick model number 444. This auction is for a unique bronze/cast door knocker. Unique in the fact I have never seen 1 similar before. I'm not an expert. But I can tell you my house was built in 1886& had some remodeling done in the 1930's. This included the addition of an enclosed front porch. Since the enclosed porch was built, this knocker has been hanging on the interior door to the house. I could completely understand if this had been an outer door knocker~ it certainly is scary/evil looking! I know that decorating w/ gargoyles/demons/lions& ferocious creatures was very popular way back in the day.Ring did come off once when I slammed the door; I put it back in, so it's a little crooked& could use a straightening. 19TH CENTURY CIRCA 1850S-1880S VICTORIAN PRIM I TIVE/CRUDE ANTIQUE SAND-CASTED BRASS GOTHIC ROMANESQUE FIGURAL LION-HEAD DOOR-KNOCKER WITH ORIGINAL IRON RING. This antique brass door-knocker appears to be sand-casted(please see pics to ascertain yourself) as there are little raised inflections of brass on the interior surfaces(please see pic provided of interior side) Piece is circa 1850s-1880s as is evidenced in the Romanesque design/form of the figural lion head form with small ears. Arched and wrinkled brow of the forehead, short wavy hair, almost personification of face and expression, pronounced primitive muz zle reflecting the antique design-form. And squiggly scrolled r ai sed-relief embossing of border(see pics) The piece is in all original period condition with no repairs or res to rations.
