VERY NICE ANTIQUE VTG 1860 TAYLORS PAT DOOR BELL VICTORIAN BRASS DOORBELL PLATE AND CRANK RINGER This offering is for an excellent antique cast iron and brass Victorian door bell complete with the crank ringer handle. The bell is in working condition and and displays beautifully. The bell is marked on the face"TAYLORS PAT OCT 23 1860" and it measures app. 3 3/4" in maximum diameter at the backplate not including the mounting hole flanges. The brass bell itself measures app. 3½" in diameter. The porcelain crank handle knob has some crazing but is still solidly together in one piece and it functions perfectly. Currently the bell makes more of a clacking sound than a ring so it needs a bit of adjustment once you have it mounted on the door or wall. Breaks, cracks or repairs and the bell displays wonderfully. It was mounted on the inside top edge of the door. The movement from the door being opened would cause the bell to ring. The bell is steel with an as found old brass paint finish. It is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and 3 1/4 inches tall to the point where it meets the bracket. The bracket is steel with a black finish. Its overall height from top to bottom is about 12 1/2 inches. It has two mounting holes 7 1/2 inches on center. An authentic country store door bell with a loud but pleasant ting-a-ling sound. The shipping weight is 1 pound 10 ounces. Antique Front Door Bell Key Ringer I hate to even write this. But I have noticed low DRS star ratings for my shipping charges. I'm trying to not sound crass, but before you bid, take note of the shipping amount. Do not bid if you think the shipping is too high. No one is forcing you to bid on my items if you do not like the shipping charges. Please do not bid on my items, all well and knowing the shipping charges, and then leave me low DSR Star ratings for shipping and hadling charges. I pack and weigh, then put that weight in ebay. This is a lovely old bell box which I purchased last weekend from a flea-market in northern France. I'm not sure whether it would originally have been used as a door bell or as a telephone bell. But I think it probably dates to the very early years of the 20th century. Unusually, the bell itself is made from wood so I suppose it would have made a tapping sound rather than the more usual ringing sound. The workings seem to be intact(see photos) but it is not wired up and has not been tested. Therefore, it is sold purely as a decorative object. Primitive Antique Folk Art Piece Carved Wood Tin Steel Door Bell Instrument? Alrighty– I am slowly working my way to the last of the antique dealer auction items. So I did some power shopping yesterday to replenish the shelves… and did I get lucky! I have some fabulous early primitives to list this week, antique and vintage folk art, early tools, beautiful Victorian items– there’s something for everyone– you won’t be disappointed! Here is a wonderful hand made piece. I'm estimating early 1900s. But it truly could be older. The dealer that I bought it from purchased it at an estate sale, and he couldn't get any information on it either. WhatDAheck is it? It has a small nail sized hole under the raised box(see photo 9) and a larger hole surrounded by carved circles under the steel"ringers" for lack of a better word. In photo ... more14, you can see that there's two small holes on one of the short ends. I don't know if it mounted on a wall, or on some larger piece, or if there was another piece once attached to it(it's the edge holes throwing me off) what do you think? It has a back that is solid wood that has been decoratively carved- very rustic and primitive, and the lines and circles, I think were painted darker than the finish of the wood- unless that's just aged patina, it's hard to tell. Then, you have a tin box with a wood bottom mounted on the wood backing. It has a steel bar that wraps over the tin box and over the 6 steel"fingers. There is copper wire wrapped round the steel bar in between the"fingers" and you can see it threads through holes in the back- like sewn on. The patina there at the back by those holes is blackblackblack. One of the steel"fingers" is loose in its place- its on the left side, and I'm showing how I can move it back and fourth in photos 16& 17. I could pull it out if I wanted to, I think, so it probably needs to be tacked down a little just to secure it. This is the only one that has a flat/dull ring to it when you flic

Antique slag glass door bell housing or hotel bellboy ringer early 1900's
An old translucent glass door bell or hotel bellboy bell. There is no clapper and I think it was electric as in an electric doorbell. There is a groove at bottom where a wire cold go through to a bell. So you push the button and it rings the bell. Inside is what looks like an electrical box with wires cut off. In good condition and is 3 inches diameter and about 1-5/8 inches high. Glass is semi transparent light beige. Date is early 1900's. A nice quality antique mahogany and brass door bell/ servants bell. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The mahogany case has brass fittings and the bell is nickel plated. It is stamped London Make on the back. It measures 7 1/2" high x 4" wide x 2 1/4" deep. It has a few small surface marks as to be expected otherwise it is all in very good antique condition.
