It is lightly rusted and in need of some spray paint but the rust s cosmetic and does not affect the funtion of the crank. Vintage/Antique Side Hanging Cast Iron Door Dinner Bell wtih Horse Farm or Barn
Here is a very nice antique cast iron horse door/dinner bell. This is not a large piece. It only stands about 5 1/4" tall but is really a nice old item. Mostly black cast iron, but the horse is a shade of brown, and there are a couple of tufts of green grass. You can see all of the'cracks' in the original paint. Looks like the eye might be hand painted. Bell is hanging from wire and has a strip of leather hanging from the end of it. A great sound to the bell. Antique Shop Keepers, butlers, servents door bell, two bells on coil, Victorian
Here we have one antique Victorian shop keepers. Butlers or servants bell. There are two bells, but I believe one was added to the original. This is made with one piece of heavy gauge wire coiled into loops from which one bell hangs. The wire is coiled loosely at the bottom twice, ending in a tight spring like coil at the top from which a straight piece protrudes upward. This straight piece has a small loop at the top, possibly for attaching to the door. The second bell in on medium gauge wire which forms a loop and than a piece of thin wire was used to attach it to the coiled structure with the first bell. Both bells have the same iron ringers and both are about the same shape. There is a very nice green patina on both of the bells and the wire has a surface rust, this could most likely be cleaned off, if desired, but it does not effect ... morethe strength of the item. These bells have a loud ring, no one could sneak up on you with these. They measure 9.5 inches long from the top of the straight piece to the bottom of the first bell and the widest part of the coil is 4 1/4 inches. The bells are about 2.5 inches long with a 2.5 inch base. This would protrude 1.5 inches from the door/wall. I found this bell at an abandoned house on Cape Cod, Ma about 10 years ago and now I am passing it on.

This listing is for an antique Dutch Door Bell/Knocker. It is made from brass and is very solid. The knocker was attached to a front door and when you pull the chain the bell swivels and rings. The knocker weighs approximately 4 pounds and its length when hanging from the tip to the bottom of the handle is 18 1/2 inches. Protrudes from the door 6 inches. The bell itself is 4 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches wide. The bell has a Latin inscription that says-VOCEM- MEAM- A- OVIME- TANGIT. It has a manufacture date of 1914 on the inside and the patent date for the device is 1913. It is all solid oak and very well made. It measures just over 11 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide by about 3 inches deep. We are selling it in 100% untouched" as found" condition, which looks pretty good. The only thing I can see which needs mentioned is that there is a little discoloration on the black around the numbers under the glass and there is a little paint on the sides which should be a fairly easy removal. This attractive 3 x 1 1/2 inch door bell is marked Sterling Rodale on the back and the front is embossed with the words Our Door Is An Open Heart and the front has a hand made or hammered look to it on the flat parts that you can see in the reflection.
