Wonderful matching pair of antique wooden corbels. They are coated in old. Green paint that is a little chippy. Each corbel measures 18 inches long, 11 1/8 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide. These have good detailing and curves. The tops are perfectly flat and ready to serve as a base for a shelf, etc. Also, the corbels have mounting brackets already attached to the backs. Pair Large Antique Heavy Plaster Corbels Wall Shelf 19th c 17"x14"x14" Good vintage condition. They have been painted over. There are a couple areas that have minor damage such as a cracked corner. A chipped front edge and a hole in the deep recess of one of the leaves. All of which can easily be repaired if so desired. Both corbels are marked with a large"14" on top which is likely a size mark being that they are 17" wide x 14" tall x 14" deep. One corbel is marked"J" on top with"SJ" inside. The other is marked"A" on top with"SA" inside. These corbels were purchased 12 years ago from an antiques house in Ireland. I believe they are from ireland or England. Due to the size and weight of these items. we will only ship to the lower 48 US states. Sorry. No PO boxes.

Rare PAIR OF 2 salvaged fancy BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE OLD wooden corbels with swirls. Leaves, and barrel shapes and embellishments. Victorian feel, very old. AS shown in the photos, THIS PAIR IS 99.9% EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO MISSING PIECES! There are a few flakes of finish missing and sign of age in the finish. I have others like this also on auction on eBay. Same size, design,e tc. but the others have chips and pieces fallen off, where the glue has failed, but so far these 2 are still intact. I will wrap them very carefully, but it is possible something may come loose during transit but repairs can be made easily with wood glue if necessary. Size is approx. 4 inches by 3 inches. Andreas ~ Auctions Welcome* For your consideration is this pair of ornate. And beautifully hand carved wood brackets/corbels. They measure approximately 21" in length, 3" wide at the top and 9" deep. There are some areas of loss to the carving to each side of one bracket as shown in the photos. If you review the photos you can see that there is an unfinished edge to one side of each bracket. This might be where they were cut to remove them from the home. After removal they were used as a wall shelf with a long piece of glass on top of the brackets. The top of the brackets is covered with velvet fabric. Recently purchased from a local estate the owner said that they were from the Singer mansion in Pittsburgh. PA. I can not prove or disprove this statement. I have tried to do some research on the mansion and here is what I could ... morefind: John F. Singer was a partner with Alexander Nimick in Singer-Nimick& Co. Iron manufacturers. The house was completed in 1869 at a reported cost of $65,000. Originally part of a large country estate in the small village of Wilkinsburg(now included within the Pittsburgh city limits) the house and chapel stand alone at the center of a residential area bordering on an urban commercial district. Occupied by the Singer family until the early 1880's. The house stood vacant for a time before being used as a bachelors' club, known as Dixon Manor. In the 1920s it was purchased and split into a two family apartment. The house. Completed in 1869, was known as'the most pretentious and elegantly appointed as well as exquisitely furnished individual dwelling within the borough limits. Workmen were brought from England to do the wood and marble work. Special marble- a different color for each room- was imported from various countries. Also imported were the crystal, porcelain and brass chandeliers, which still remain in the house. Four great-looking antique cast iron building corbels! Each is approx. 6" X 5.75" And stick out about 3.75" from the wall. So they are small-ish, but heavy, weighing a bit over 6 lbs. each. Huge Architectural Statement Antique Corbels!

These are very OLD and large! These corbels will be a statement piece in any room of your home! Each one could be its own shelf or would be stunning as support brackets for a fireplace. Shelving, etc. The architexture from the turn of the century is slowly being destroyed house by house. These corbels are a great way to show how homes were built by craftsman. Dimensions are.drumroll.21 inches tall x 12 inches deep x 6 inches wide. They weigh a staggering 10 1/2 pounds each! These are truly one of a kind and when they are gone.they are gone. Aren't these great? I love to use vintage architectural pieces whether it's here on our alpaca farm ... moreor in the city. They are great conversation pieces and offer a myriad of uses! These are solid wood and I do not have the knowledge of what type of building they have come from. Corbels in our area are on homes that were built before the 1900s but they could be from the 20s or 30s as well. Uses that I have seen are a decorative piece that was used as a support bracket for the front porch but they were widely used in other aspects of decor as well. Usually they weren't weight bearing. I don't know why I just gave you a bit of history but there you go: Back to the corbels or support brackets.These are not handcarved one piece corbels but instead they were designed as seperate pieces and then nailed together. The tall side 11.5 inches. The sides are 10 inches and they are almost 4 inches in width. I love the character of the paint but it is chipping and has loads of patina because this was an outdoor item. I would suggest spraying it with a clearcoat if you would like to preserve the finish. There are lots of dings and dents but are truly a beautiful piece for bookends. Underneath a fireplace mantle, bar support, etc. Some small pieces of wood trim are missing

Antique 19th century beautifully-carved matched marble corbels
This is a striking and beautifully-carved. Matched-design pair of marble corbels that date to the 19th century. My guess is that they are of Italian origin but I do not know for certain- most of the best carved marble came from Italy at that time. These could have been used on a fireplace, or as some decorative element inside a wealthy home or mansion. Both carry an identical floral design with a rose in the center. While the designs match and I feel comfortable calling them a pair, there are very slight differences in the sizes. Both are 10&1/4" high. One is 7&1/4" across the base in the back, while the other is 7&3/4. One is 3&3/4" deep at the center of the scroll on the bottom, while the other is 3&1/2. They were obviously carved as a pair and so I cannot tell you why there is such a slight difference. ... moreLooking at them, you would never see any difference whatsoever. Each weighs about 17 pounds. Condition is as found and as shown. There are a few rough edges on the rosebuds, possibly just natural wear, but nothing of consequence as to the overall look. On the bottom center of each, there is an area where they were attached- there is some marble roughly cut out there but that was probably done deliberately in order to secure them to a wall. OVER 100 yr. OLD PAINTED BALUSTERS THIS LISTING IS FOR A LOT OF 7 BALUSTERS I have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. These were taken off the house. The paint is slightly flaking if you buff it but is mostly adhering still. Loads of character and charm. Pieces are solid and not in a decaying or crumbly state at all. Paint has helped preserve this old wood even with long term exposure. There are only two posts with old cast iron porch flag tie down hooks on them as pictured close up. Each post is different and unique with typical wear that would be naturally indigenous to this period and stature. We would like to sell them in sets of 7 until all are gone; or we could sell all to one buyer and change the listing to accommodate. 2 Antique Awesome Victorian Architectural White Chippy Wood House Corbels Listed are two matching Antique Awesome Victorian white circa 1890's wood corbels. That I removed from a Victorian house in Central New York. They were painted white, paint chipping and the wood is solid. The four sides have the same designs. Dimensions are 12 3/4" tall. The item for sale is an antique architectural salvage wooden house decoration. This is in good solid condition with no rot normal overall wear cracked and flaking paint. Some dings, chips and minor separations. The long piece has a layer missing off the back This are being sold as is, as it was found in an estate barn cleanout.
